We Love Race Cars provides an informational book on students who are interested in racing and cars. The easy language does not prevent students from learning about various different types of race cars. The labeled images help students to build vocabulary. Additionally, questions help to guide readers and encourage their comprehension and thinking about the text. The ending shows a diagram and picture glossary which helps young students learn text features as well. This book is recommended for students in grades Kindergarten through 2nd grade and would be great for teachers with lesson on text features.

I read this to my grandson to "test" it out. He asked me to read it three times. Then about 3 o'clock in the morning he woke me up and asked me to read it again. If that doesn't recommend this one as a fun bedtime read for young ones, I don't know what will. I am ordering it for him as a Christmas present.

We Love Race Cars has the perfect amount of details for beginning readers. This series from Lerner’s Bumba Books will be a terrific addition to my PreK-2 library. I love that it includes text features such as diagrams, picture glossary, index and more. The photographs are high interest and the kids will love reading and sharing about these!
