Emily Henry writes books that make you want to cry and throw them at the same time. 10/10. This is not a Henry book that you want to miss. Have the tissues on stand by.

I have to be honest … I love Emily Henry’s writing!!!
I was so excited to get this book to review and I wasn’t disappointed.
The characters are fresh and fun. The story made me laugh and I’ve ready recommended it to several friends.
What a great escape read!

Oh, I loved this book. Emily Henry is becoming an auto-buy author for me. What I loved most about this book is the depth. This is not a surface level rom-com, this is the story of a deep friendship that hits some major roadblocks, but is still full of love. Alex and Poppy are both such great characters with their own story arcs and the end... oof, the end is so good. I think "Beach Read" still ends up a smidge higher on my favorites list, but this one is definitely close behind!

Pick this one up if you love: love, travel, and humor!

Thanks to Netgalley and Berkley for an eARC in exchange for a fair and honest review.

This was the most perfect book. I will forever love it and buy everything that Emily Henry writes. There are no words.

Another winner from Emily Henry - Poppy and Alex's relationship sparkles. The use of flashbacks to tell the story of their friendship is a delightful way to show the connection building between the two. I didn't want to put it down.

Poppy and Alex have been friends since the first day of college, every summer since then they have taken a trip together, until two years prior, when their relationship changes. The story goes back and forth between past trips and the present one. They must navigate their feelings and what it means moving forward in their lives.

When I read the summary on the back of the book, I knew I would enjoy this book. It followed a somewhat predictable pattern of a Rom-com book, but it was still a five star read for me. I thought the characters were interesting and complex and I loved the bits that mentioned where they traveled to.

A character driven novel about Poppy and Alex, two college friends that are seemingly opposites, but who have a special bond. Every year they take a vacation together even as they grow up and start their adult lives. This was a fun, light read.

I LOVE THIS BOOK SO MUCH. It gave me literal butterflies. The best friends to lovers trope was excellent - one of my personal favorites. Alex was such a unique character who was not the typical "nerdy" best friend. Poppy was super fun. Loved the chemistry and the build up to the romance. The steam was incredible. Possibly better than BEACH READ.

I usually like the ' Friends to lovers " Trope , but , this book wasn't for me .
The writing style, as with all Emily Henry books , was really great . Her style is captivating , even though I wasn't enjoying the story or the characters that much , I couldn't put the novel down , I had to keep reading just to enjoy Henry's beautiful words .
I would recommend this for romance lovers , especially reader who like the " Friends to Lovers " Trope .

I had very high expectations for this book because I adored Beach Read and this author's YA books as well. I've come to expect a lot from her and her characters. I'm pleased to say this one lived up to those expectations. While I don't think I connected to them as personally as I have her other characters, they still made me laugh and root for them. This is the kind of contemporary romance I want to read. It has humor, flirting, and substance.

Idk what it was about this book but it wasn’t my favorite. I had to restart it because I was so bored I thought maybe I missed something. There was a disconnect between the characters for me and I wanted to love it more than I did.

THIS MADE ME SO HAPPY!!! I had actual butterflies reading Poppy and Alex’s story!!! This definitely was a little more lighter than Beach Read but I can’t pick a favorite because they’re both amazing in their own ways. I Iove how this alternated between the past and the present because it just made you want to KEEP READING and find out what exactly happened that made them break apart. I loved seeing them rebuild their friendship first and then their relationship. Emily Henry just has this magic to everything she writes and I’m already dying for her next summery book.
I also LOVED the brief little nod towards Beach Read mentioned, that made me break out in an even bigger smile!

Emily Henry just consistently seems to hit grand slams when she publishes. People We Meet on Vacation hit me with all the feels and was easily one of the best, if not the best, book I have read in 2021

100% Beach Read!

And if you aren't going to the beach.. you need to read this one anyway!

It's light, breezy, and full of frivolity. You will want to spend time with these characters and have them over for supper. That is always the mark of a good book, for me. Whether I will miss the characters after I finish the book. That was definitely the truth in PEOPLE WE MEET ON VACATION.

Highly recommended!.

Thank you NetGalley for the ARC of People We Meet on Vacation.

This book has the makings of everything I love in a summer read. Travel, romance, sexual tension, etc. but I'm sad to say I just didn't love it like I thought I would.

I liked the characters and the premise of the story, but just never felt connected to either, Based on the rave reviews, this could just be me and my reading mood at the moment. Lots and lots of people adored this book!

If you are looking for an easy, breezy summer read this will definitely suffice, but it just wasn't as good of a book as I hoped.

The hype for this book is real, and I can definitely see that it's well deserved! I really enjoyed this Romance from Emily Henry. Beach Read was also a great read, and between the two I don't think I can pick a favorite. I'm definitely looking forward to more books by this author in the future!

I really enjoyed the friends-to-lovers romance in this book, especially given how opposite the two main characters are. I was also very curious to see what happened in the past to sort of ruin their friendship/annual vacation, and how everything would be resolved. Overall I highly enjoyed the characters and the story itself, and can't wait to read more from Emily Henry!

Having loved Emily Henry's Beach Read, I was eagerly anticipating this follow-up and it did not disappoint! This friends-to-lovers romance jumps back and forth in time as we go along on their previous trips and learn more about their friendship as they reunite after two years apart.

Alex and Poppy are best friends, despite being complete opposites and hating each other at their first meeting. Thanks to an unplanned road trip, all that changes and a firm friendship is established. That was 12 years ago and every summer since they have taken a trip together! Over the years they have shared everything and become something truly special to each other. Until the trip to Tuscany changes everything and then the disaster that was Croatia. We join the story in the present day and Alex and Poppy haven’t spoken in two years. Now Poppy has one week in Palm Springs to fix things….can things ever be the same again?

First thing is that Poppy and Alex are both great…like absolutely adorable! Their relationship is amazing and written so beautifully that it feels completely natural and realistic. The premise of the story is sound and has just enough intrigue to make it compelling but ultimately this a character driven piece that has so much heart I defy anyone not to be routing for out protagonists from page one. The organisation of the chapters is really well thought out, they flit from present day back and forth from the summer trips from all the years gone by. The best thing about this book was the humour, it is laugh out loud funny and that for me is a winning combination. People We meet on Vacation is out today….so off you go and grab yourself a copy!
