Second book in the Natchez Trace Park Ranger series and it was better than the first book. Someone is trying to kill Emma Winters, historian of the park, is it her stalker or the person she interrupted trying to excavate the burial site of former slaves? Sam Ryker is assigned her case, the more they investigate the closer they come to danger. This was an edge of your seat, can't put it down, page turner. I really liked the depth that was brought to the character stalking Emma.

Get ready for plenty of suspense and tension and enough suspects that you can’t be sure who is actually guilty until the surprising reveal. Of course, there’s more than one crime confronting Emma Winters, a Natchez Trace park ranger and Law Enforcement Ranger Sam Ryker, her former fiancé. Emma confronts opposition when she wants to document the slave graves at the park and faces life-threatening danger. Plus, there’s the mystery of her twin brother who disappeared ten years ago, and other unexplained deaths. In addition, unknown to Emma, someone is obsessed with her and seeks to make her his own, wiping out any competition to his goal. The exciting story is one you won’t want to put down as you follow the twisting plot. I received a copy from the publisher. All opinions are my own. #Obsession #NetGalley

This was another really good book by Patricia Bradley. Loved the characters, especially Emma. She has a strength about her while not being "perfect." She was quick to point out areas where Sam needed to change but slow to realize her own shortcomings. But that's true to our real lives, we can see other's faults and not recognize we are doing similar things.

I also appreciated the line of forgiveness that the author dealt with.

The story itself was excellent. I love how the author gives us a peek into the thoughts of antagonist, it both gives clues and misdirection. I enjoyed trying to figure out who the stalker was.

This is a book 2 of the series but acts as a stand alone. If you've read Patricia Bradley you won't be disappointed. If you're new to Bradley's writing this an excellent choice to get a taste of her style. If you're a fan of Blackstock, Sleeman, or Brandilyn Collins you should enjoy Patricia Bradley.

Emma Winters, an interpretive Ranger for National Park Service on the Natchez Trace, has reason to be scared. She has been shot at and she is being stalked. Sam Ryker, the District Ranger and her former fiancé, is trying to protect her, find the stalker and trying to solve the mystery surrounding Emma’s twin brother who vanished ten years ago. Emma has no intention of staying out of any investigation. Can they find answers or will their shared past get in the way?

Obsession is a fast paced and well plotted story. Emma and Sam come with their own baggage which both recognize in each other. Secrets and past hurts are brought forth. Now, working closely together, they struggle with memories of what they had once meant to each other and wonder if they can have this again.

The narrative is packed with action, themes of family and a varied cast of characters. Skillfully written, this book is well worth reading. Highly recommended.

This is book 2 in the series but can be read and enjoyed as a stand-alone. The story line follows Emma, an interpretive ranger, and Sam, a law enforcement ranger, who have a shadowed past together. Their work in different parts of the National Park Service is really fascinating. The plot is fast-paced with twists and turns that will have you guessing at the identity of the villain. The villain also has a voice in the story, which adds an extra dimension to the story. Emma has issues with commitment but did love Sam before a murder and disappearance of her twin brother tore them apart. Sam has issues with anger and forgiveness but still loves Emma. As new evidence crops up regarding Emma's brother and the ten-year-old unsolved murder case, Emma is also targeted by a stalker. The past and the present converge in an adrenaline-filled chase as Sam does his best to protect Emma and figure out what happened ten years ago. If you enjoy high-intensity suspense with a bit of romance, you will enjoy this book.

I received the book from Revell/Baker Publishing Group via NetGalley and Interview & Reviews and was under no obligation to post a positive comment. All opinions are solely my own.

This was a super exciting read. I really enjoyed the cold case of Emma's missing brother along with the current day mysteries facing Emma and Sam. The story moved extremely well and was a very easy read. It held my attention throughout and I had trouble putting it down. A solid Christian Fiction suspense novel that leaves me wanting the next in the series asap!!

As a lifetime Southerner I love that Patricia Bradley’s books have southern settings. Aside from that it was her skill at grabbing me and pulling me right into the middle of her stories that won my loyalty. Obsession continued the tradition by combining an absorbing plot, strong characters, plenty of action along with mystery, growing suspense, a few twists and surprises as well as a red herring or two. A second chance romance and a strong faith message were the icing on the cake.

The second book in the author’s Natchez Trace Park Rangers series, Obsession held me captive from beginning to end. After all, who could resist a mystery about a female park ranger whose life has been threatened and who also seems to have a stalker? When a former romantic interest becomes involved in the case and seems determined to protect her, a few sparks began to fly.

As you have probably begun to realize, I definitely loved this book. Emma and Sam were both natural and believable characters who I would love to know in real life. I am already looking forward to the next book in this series.

Obsession is the second book in Patricia Bradley's series Natchez Trace Park Rangers. This suspenseful tale leads you on a journey of twists with several possible suspects. The two main characters Sam & Emma have a past full of  misunderstandings and pain. When a stalker enters the picture, the rangers will have to work together in order to solve the case. To make matters worse, Emma is the target of a so called secret admirer.  Is the murderer, stalker and shooter one and the same or are they all separate? It's up to Sam and Emma to figure it out.

Patricia Bradley does a thorough job of building out an intriguing suspense with an aspect of romance built into the storyline. She leaves many clues along the way, keeping you on your toes while trying to figure out the villains.  I must also note that one of my favorite things Patricia Bradley does in her writing is add in a quirky pet or object... be on the lookout for the kitty and gerbera daisies. I would definitely recommend this read to anyone looking for a good suspense with a bit of romance, this is one to add to your list.

This book kept me guessing all the way through - I couldn't put it down! Sam and Emma are forced to reconcile after a rocky past when they are thrown together to investigate two crimes: someone shooting at Emma seemingly to disrupt her work, and someone stalking her. As they are drawn deeper into the web of danger and secrets, it appears that the two crimes are connected, and may also be linked to Emma’s twin brother’s disappearance ten years ago.

I love the unique setting of Natchez Trace National Park! It lends itself to unique situations and puts the spotlight on park rangers, a lesser-known branch of law enforcement. I really enjoyed Emma and Sam’s relationship; the pacing felt authentic and developed naturally as they began to trust each other again after a broken engagement. It was just the right amount of romance to complement the suspense. The way the chapters from the stalker's perspective were woven in made it hard to guess his identity at first, but gave enough insight to keep me on edge wondering how he would pull off his plans. I highly recommend this book to fans of romantic suspense, especially to readers who enjoy authors such as Natalie Walters, Lynette Eason, and Lisa Harris.

Obsession
Natchez Trace Park Rangers #2
By Patricia Bradley

Emma Winters is passionate about her work and in her desire to locate her brother Ryan. Ten years ago Ryan disappeared after being named a prime suspect in a murder. Ten years ago she broke up with Sam Ryker. And now Sam is back working the Natchez Trace the same as Emma.

Someone is tampering with the site of Emma's historical investigation of a slave graveyard. And they are willing to kill to do it. Unfortunately, Emma's brush with death brings her face-to-face with Sam Ryker. Sam never got over Emma and seeing her again after all these years hasn't changed his feelings for her, but he doesn't want to risk having her break his heart all over again.

But when someone seems to be targeting Emma it quickly becomes obvious that she may have a stalker. But the question is who. And even more to the point if she does is it tied to her historical work and the tampering? Or is it something else entirely?

Obsession is an excellent read, one in which we as the reader are allowed a glimpse into the minds of Emma, Sam, and the perpetrator. Such a contrast in personalities! And as to the perpetrator's true identity, we are given an abundance of potential suspects who could be guilty. Obsession is so well written that we are not given any clear path to follow in identifying the guilty party so we like the characters are truly scrambling to pull the pieces together both it is too late. Bravo! I can't wait to read the next book in the Natchez Trace Park Rangers series. I have to admit this book was another can't-put-it-down-must-read-it-until-the-end book!

I was provided with a complimentary copy of this book with no expectations but that I provide my honest opinion. All thoughts expressed are my own.

This is an amazing book by Patricia Bradley. This is book 2 although it can be read as a standalone. When reading as book 2 you see Emma as a more fully formed character since you get to see her more. I would completely recommend this book. I can’t wait to see what’s next.

Title: Obsession
Author: Patricia Bradley

Ch: 75

Pg: 384

Series: Natchez Trace Park Rangers book 2

Genre: Christian Suspense with a hint of romance

Rating: 4 stars

Publisher: Revell

Obsession by Patricia Bradley is the second book in the Natchez Trace Park Rangers series. And while I didn’t love it as much as the first book in the series i did enjoy it. Though I could have done without the chapters from the point of view of the stalker. Trigger warning for stalkers.

Emma was a pretty awesome heroine and Sam’s not a bad hero himself. Not to mention this suspense novel includes one of my favorite tropes second chances. But the romance didn’t overpower the suspense. But I do think this was a little too suspenseful this time. I would have finish it in one day if the suspense had become tense and stressful but it was still good.

The only con I had was that it was easier to figure out who the stalker was. But I think that was because i read a lot of suspense and mysteries but those who are new to genre won’t have that problem. I do look forward to the next book in the series.

I enjoyed this second story a lot more than the first. Both had the same level of suspense and fast paced action, but this one didn't feel so rushed at the end than how I found the first book ended.

The suspense started early on and with quite a bang and never really fell flat. The balance between the action and following the evidence was well done and I was totally invested in trying to figure out who the stalker was (anyone of three main suspects) and seeing how the cold case will end. With Emma I hoped for a different ending. The author kept me on my toes with three main suspects and even though I had strong gut feels towards one (or two), I was confused a lot with things happening at specific times.

I was frustrated with Emma a few times, especially with an action towards the end. Seriously. I adored Sam and sort of felt like he deserved better, but the two of them was also great together.

There were a few things which I did not feel 100% closure with by the end which is why I'm not giving 5 stars. Things which were hinted off during the story but I don't feel that I really got a clear conclusion towards the end.

Highly recommended to fans of Romantic Suspense.

Obsession by Patricia Bradley leads the readers on a fast-paced, spine-chilling tale full of danger, revenge, forgiveness, suspense, and a past clouded by mystery. Patricia Bradley has a definite knack for writing excellent Christian fiction works that include a great deal of suspense without obscuring the heartwarming aspects of redemption, forgiveness, and love. Obsession is the second book in Ms. Bradley's Natchez Trace Park Rangers series. I read and enjoyed the first book in the series, Standoff. When I saw that Obsession was available for me to read and review, I wanted to read it merely based on its description. Then when I began reading it, I was thrilled to be able to continue the excellent Natchez Trace Park Rangers series by Ms. Bradley.
Obsession begins with a very dangerous situation and scare for Emma Winters, a historian and Natchez Trace Ranger, who has bullets whiz by her head by mere inches. Shaken and justifiably angry, Emma is determined to not let her attacker keep her from her independence and routine. As a Natchez Trace law enforcement district ranger, Sam Ryker responded to Emma's attack and is horrified to see how close someone came to harming Emma. Sam is determined to find the person behind her attacks and bring him or her to justice. As Sam investigates Emma's attack, they discover that there is more than just this isolated incident. There is some delusional person out there who has a stalker's obsession with Emma and wants her for himself. As Sam delves further into the person behind the threats and messages to Emma, he realizes that he might be the only roadblock for keeping Emma safe. Sam and Emma share a complicated history, having once been engaged and not reconciling after a major family loss for Emma. Even though both Sam and Emma struggle with their past heartaches and misunderstandings, they realize the necessity of the circumstances that have thrown them together. Sam is more determined than ever to not let up his guard on Emma, after failing her in the past.
When the hurt and mystery that has shrouded the Winters family for a decade seems to be coming back to the forefront, Emma and Sam discover that there may be a connection to the disappearance of Emma's brother and Emma's current stalker. Can they discover the connection before the stalker gets to Emma? Will Sam be able to protect Emma against an unknown and devious stalker? Can Sam and Emma work together to repair the scars from their past? Will they be able to put their misunderstandings and past hurts aside to survive the many dangerous situations now facing them? Who is behind the attacks on Emma? Pick up Obsession by Patricia Bradley to discover the truth for yourself!
One of the aspects of Ms. Bradley's works that I truly appreciate is her well-crafted characters. Both the main characters in this work, Sam Ryker and Emma Winters have such believable and understandable traits and struggles, that it would be hard to find a reader that doesn't relate to them. I really enjoyed the struggles and challenges that both Sam and Emma faced in order to find a life of forgiveness, trust, and peace. The challenges that Sam and Emma faced were unique and yet clearly building their character, giving the reader an opportunity to delve into their past and growth.
Along with solid characters, Ms. Bradley also has an exceptional knack for developing a thrilling plot. With all the various plot twists and turns, the readers is kept in suspense until the last page. Speaking of suspense, Ms. Bradley does an excellent job of bringing the gravity of the situations faced by the characters to life. To be entirely honest with you, there were times when I was reading this book that I was creeped out by the sinister criminal behind the scenes. I honestly think that it takes talent for an author to make readers experience for themselves the fear the characters are living through in the pages of a book. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed this book and would highly recommend Obsession as long as you can handle such an adventure! ;)

I loved the suspense and the romance that happens in this book. I loved Sam and Emma. I could not figure out until almost the end who was so obsessed with Emma. The author dies a great job of leaving some clues but not quite enough to let you know who is obsessed too early. I did not want to put this book down. I received a copy of this book from Revell for a fair and honest opinion that I gave of my own free will.

Captivating, heartbreaking, suspenseful, romantic. These are a few words I could use to describe this book. I really enjoyed that there were a few people who could have been the murderer, the stalker, the shooter, etc. For a portion of the book, you’re not sure if there is only one bad guy or if there are multiple ones. Patricia Bradley does an excellent job of pacing in this book and slowly answering the reader’s questions in regards to the past crime and the present happenings in the life of the protagonists. This is an excellent choice for people who love clean romantic suspense.

This was a great book! It kept me on the edge of my seat, guessing and second-guessing myself until the end. I loved the red herrings thrown in; they were well done. I will be putting more of her books on my GoodReads wish-list!

OBSESSION is the second book in this series, but it stands alone. I enjoyed the unique plot and the romance was top notch. i didn't want to put this book down.

I did guess who-dun-it, but there were some twists I never saw coming. The faith message was strong and i was glad Sam got his issues resolved.

This is a book not to be missed.

I was given a copy free. All opinions are my own.

This is the second book by this author I have read! It was just as good or better than the first! Patricia Bradley writes suspense like no other! She writes is such a way that you never know who the bad guy is. Emma is excavating in the a park when strange things starts to take place. Somebody starts to shoot at her and she turns to Sam Ryker, a man she used to be engaged to, to help her find out who I is trying to kill her. Even though Sam knows he failed Emma in the past, he is determined to keep her safe now.

Obsession is a gripping tale of mystery and intrigue that will keep you on the edge of your seat. It is the second book in the Natchez Rangers series and I can not wait to read the rest! I could not put this book down. It is a full of mystery and also has romance, two of my favorite properties in a book. I highly recommend you read it when you have nothing else to. It will be hard to put down.

Bradley is a great suspense writer. She knows how to mislead and misdirect so that you have many potential villains. That was certainly the case in this story. As Emma is working on excavating an area in the park, weird things start happening including someone taking shots at her. An ex-boyfriend is assigned to watch over her which is awkward and healing in the end. The mystery keeps building as secrets are revealed and Emma starts receiving gifts and notes from a stalker who thinks she's in love with him.

I appreciated the theme of forgiveness and second chances running throughout the story. I enjoyed the mystery. It had a great pace to it. The characters were believable and interesting. I'd highly recommend this book.
