Silent Night by Nell Pattison is a thrilling audiobook that will keep you on the edge of your seat from beginning to end. Set in a school for the deaf, this murder mystery starts when five teenagers go on an overnight trip to the snowy woods and only four wake up.

The protagonist, Paige Northwood, is a sign language interpreter who is brought in to help with interrogations. As the story unfolds, it becomes clear that everyone at the school has a motive for murder, but they all have an alibi. Paige becomes increasingly involved in the investigation, and she starts to suspect that something sinister is going on.

The author does a great job of building tension throughout the story, and the audiobook is narrated in a way that adds to the suspense. The plot twists and turns, and just when you think you have it all figured out, another clue is revealed that changes everything.

The characters in Silent Night are well-developed, and their motives and actions are believable. You'll find yourself trying to solve the mystery alongside Paige and the police, and the ending is satisfying and unexpected.

Overall, I highly recommend Silent Night for fans of murder mysteries and thrillers. It's a gripping story that will keep you guessing until the very end. So, what happened while they were sleeping? You'll have to listen to find out.

I really enjoyed this book. The background of being set in a deaf community is so unique, it really makes you think a lot about how those who are deaf communicate and how hearing person(s) should learn sign language to communicate.
The story was fast paced and kept me interested. This is part of a series which I have started but can be read alone. Lots of twists in the story which I did not expect.

This is a Mystery/Thriller, and this is the second book in the Paige Northwood series. I liked this one better then the first book in the Paige Northwood series. I enjoyed learning more about Paige. There is two mysteries being solve in this book (a murder and a lost child), and this book takes place at a deaf school. I enjoyed the mystery. The twist and turn where not that best more then the mystery part of this book. I have to say I really did not like the narrator of this audiobook, and I am glad I have the kindle book of this book because I do not think I could get through listening to this whole audiobook. The narrator was super hard to listen to, and I think the narrator is going to make a lot of people DNF the audiobook. I enjoyed the drama going on in Paige's life. I was kindly provided an e-audiobook of this book by the publisher (HarperCollins Audio UK) or author (Nell Pattison) via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review about how I feel about this book, and I want to send a big Thank you to them for that.

I wanted to love this book, but I found the writing style a little to 'telly', making it hard to engage with the characters. I might try again, but it just didn't really gel with me.

I have yet to read The Silent House - I have the book, but haven’t yet found the prerogative to actually pick it up (No, don’t kill me yet.)

So when I found the opportunity to read and listen to the second book in the protagonist’s unintentional quest to solve mysteries - I didn’t resist and picked it up immediately!

Paige Northwood, is the only hearing member of her deaf family - and now lives with her sister. She freelances as a BSL interpreter whenever and wherever requested and required. Today, she gets a call for her help at the School for Deaf - a school that her sister also went to - a cal to help when a young teenager goes missing in the midst of a camping trip.

What Paige doesn’t expect is that her ex - boyfriend, with whom she had a traumatic and abusive relationship with, is now an employee of the school. And while she takes a vow, not to go investigating on her own; somehow that vow takes a nosedive when she finds herself being involved in the two simultaneous cases that are in want to be solved.

This is the second book in The Paige Northwood series, though it didn’t seem like I was actually missing anything from the first book - the author has done an amazing job of actually putting the strings together to make sure that the reader didn’t ind themselves lost.

The mystery was quite intriguing; and the way Paige handles, not only her own vulnerabilities but also the case itself in spite of the danger it posed, had me thoroughly invested in the book from the start till the end.

Definitely worth a read, especially if you are a lover of mystery and thriller genre and would love to read something new.

This is a great psychological thriller where a woman called Paige, who is a sign language interpreter helps to investigate at a school for the deaf., alongside the police. A teenager called Leon has gone missing and a teacher has been found dead. Can Paige and the police find out who done it? The storyline is very good and the characters and locations of the book are well described. I also learned new things about deaf people and the deaf community, as well as what education is like for deaf people, so that was interesting to me.

The narrators of the audiobook were very good and portrayed the storyline well.

Many thanks to the author, publisher and Net Galley for a copy of this audiobook in exchange for an honest review.

I absolutely loved #thesilenthouse by #NellPattison so when given the opportunity to listen to the audio book of #silentnight by #netgalley and #harpercollinsaudio I jumped at the chance to get stuck into this #thriller. I very quickly downloaded the #kindle #ebook as an accompaniment. This one was a slow burn for me only picking up at 45% so many other books got in the middle as I started this one before Christmas. I have enjoyed learning more about the character of #paigenorthwood and I will download #silentsuspect as I am enjoying the #deafawareness and #deafperspective that these books are offering.
Many thanks to #netgalley for approving me for an #ARC audiobook in exchange for an honest review.

Snowbound Woodland Trip Turns Sour.....
Atmospheric suspense. A trip to snowbound woodlands turns decidedly sour when a body is discovered. Tension building listen, well developed and suitably chilling. Book two in the Paige Northwood series, and lacking the sinister feels of the first, but works well as a standalone. The dual narrative works well and the narrators worked well together.

I didn't realise this was the second book in a series when I started it but luckily its a book you can dive right into without having read the first. I listened to the audiobook and was delighted to hear a narration from a hearing impaired person. As someone who teaches disabled young adults finding representation is hard. This book was full of suspense. The characters where brilliant and I didn't find myself getting annoyed with their decisions like I do with some other thrillers. Definitely worth a read or a listen.

but i was somehow still impressed.
To see how well i liked it i also got the audiobook and can we just take a moment to admire the brilliance of nell Pattison for have a narrator that was deaf!
WOW
I am not sure how many books and authors out there that write ASL/BSL eetc books but this was soo dang good.
I lvoed the mystery and the internal struggles.
Its a standalone but its also nice to see the characters from book 1 again.

note on the netgalley app.. the audiobook quality is so much better and less glitchy!

I tried really hard to listen to this audiobook which sounded a great story. I have to admit the bits I did understand were good but sadly although I had three attempts, I really struggled with the deaf narrator and eventually after much backing up and re-playing, I was forced to give up as it became more of a chore than a pleasure.
That said, I was still very keen to read the book so I have purchased the paperback instead. It was quite a gripping read in places but some parts felt like they dragged a little in comparison, and it took me quite a while to get to know the main character Paige. That said, it might be because I was reading this as a stand alone instead of part of the series. There is plenty to like in this twisty murder mystery and I may well go back and read the series in order now.

I absolutely loved this audiobook, it stucked me in from the first sentence and still left me wanting more by the end. The author’s twists and red herrings had me hooked and I couldn’t guess who dun it. Every time I thought I knew who the killer was I was proven wrong. As a member of the deaf community I really appreciated the narrative that explored the deaf/hearing impaired world.

I also liked how the author weaved hard hitting topics into the narrative.

I must say that Rav Singh is a dream to read about and I thought the author developed him and the other characters perfectly. Causing me to either love them or hate them as the author saw fit.

Brilliant work Nell Pattison. I’ve now bought the first book in the series and pre-ordered the third one too. I think I’ve found my new favourite thriller author!!!

I enjoyed listening to this book. I was a little unsure at first about the deaf narrator but I soon got used to her.way of speaking.
Liked the main narrator and would listen to another book narrated by her..
Story line a little unusual so it piqued my interest being set in and around a deaf school.
Did not guess the murderer at all anither plus for me.
Altogether a spellbinding listen and a good story.

This is the 2nd Paige Northwood book she is a Sign Language Interpreter for the deaf, she herself is not deaf but in the family so she learnt the signing so she can communicate at home.
In this instance, 5 teenagers go on an overnight trip and when they go to bed at night only 4 for breakfast, the next morning but a teacher is also found dead murdered, and all have some sort of reason but would they commit the deadly crime.? Page knows something is going on amongst the deaf children and these children are wary at the best of times and very untrusting.
A good listen but it started with a deaf person narrating which little off-putting if your not aware which I| wasn't to start with and it was only a few chapters but nevertheless a brave thing to do, but once the proper narrator took over was a lot better and a good listen and a good story.
My thanks to Netgalley and Harpercollins Audio UK for a copy to review..

I was intrigued by the premise of this story, narrated in part by Sarah Louise English who is deaf. Her narration added substantially to the story and the authenticity and I really enjoyed it. A child goes missing, then a teacher is found murdered. There’s a real sense of wintry isolation and a strong sense of location in this thriller/ mystery which is carefully plotted and full of surprises. A tale which kept my attention and which also added to my understanding of the difficulties of being deaf. Exceptionally, I think this is a story better listened to than read due to the excellence of the narration and the way hearing features in the plot.

My thanks to the publisher for a review copy via Netgalley.

I have not read the first book in the series but i dont think that effected me reading this one. Paige is a BSL interpreter and students go missing at a deaf school. Paige is an amazing character and I will be going back to read book 1 as im already missing Paige
