I do need to get my hands on that first book because this book was amazing, for some different reasons. The first half of the book I was so in love with the writing style and the world building that I barely noticed the story. In the second half of the book, this changed. The writing still was good but not as alluring as the first half. However, the plot was much better during the second half. While there was still a romance plot it wasn't dominating the book and I loved the sub plots and the fact that the narrative wad told by multiple chatacters without distracting or confusing the reader. My favourite character was JF. I've always had a liking for side characters and JF was... Well, he had his faults but those made him such a great character in my opinion.
The writing was, like I said, extremely well done. RH Webster really knows how to use her words and I am excited whether or not there is going to be another book in this installment. The cover itself was so beautiful - and well, it's a Si-Fi novel, which I've been loving to read of late.
