Antiquated and inaccurate. The author appears to have fallen into the same trap of student blaming that befalls many K-12 schools. If a student struggles, then as adults, we are duty-bound to find appropriate solutions, not blame the student for being "careless" and "lazy." Can students' behavior be lacking? Sure, but falling short of expectations is usually due to misunderstanding or knowledge gaps and blaming the student for what he should have done does little to improve outcomes. Skip this book and find anything more helpful that offers concrete solutions, or better yet, start with talking directly to your student. 0/10
