I loved the sense of emptiness with which this book started, turning quickly to action and a sense of direction which kept me very strongly engaged. The author has created some fascinating characters here and the plot is almost secondary to them. A very interesting story which is well written and enjoyable.
I want to thank Netgalley and the author for gifting me the ebook. Interesting read. If you love murder mysteries/thrillers you will love this book.
Cal Sterling is just a regular guy; a taxi driver in San Francisco whose taxi-driving friend Rasheed has just been shot and killed. Cal is upset by a few bullies at work who gave Rasheed a hard time and vows to catch the killer - without really thinking it through. He soon realizes that he is not a very promising detective but after putting in some hours he catches a break that gives him he thinks will lead him to the killer, but he doesn’t know what he is getting into.
The Medallion Murders by Peter Kjenaas is a great mystery thriller; an original story with a twist that you will not see coming! I also loved being taken back to and driven around San Francisco in this novel.
