This is an easy read about second chances. Lost love and family that asks for way too much. Sophie learns to love and stand up to her family when they ask for more than she has to give and also needs some support in return. Aiden is her lost love that she gets a second chance with. Can they each risk their hearts to be together again

Denise Hunter knows how to tell sweet, clean romances! Sophie and Aiden were great characters and Denise did a great job fleshing them out by giving them a back story. She really lays out for the reader the motives and thinking behind the actions and feelings of these two main characters. This makes them feel more real and therefore we are more invested in their story. I thought this was a pleasant, clean, charmingly written romance that takes place in a lovely setting (even if there is a hurricane) with an assortment of side characters that give the whole book a very cozy and intimate feel. What book lover can resist a bookshop by the sea?

I needed a feel good romance book when I chose to read this, and I am glad I chose it! The lead characters are sweet and relatable. My first by this author, and not my last.

Bookshop by the Sea by Denise Hunter is a quick sweet read. I always enjoy Ms. Hunter’s writing style and storylines. This is a
second chance romance which is always a favorite of mine.

Unfortunately, while I did enjoy this book, I struggled to connect with Sophie and Aiden and their romance. I wish we could’ve read more of their initial relationship to get a better feel for them as a couple. I felt they lacked chemistry. I also felt like Sophie’s dysfunctional relationship with her siblings and father went on too long which made me become frustrated with her more than them.

If you’re in the mood for a quick sweet read with a book store that I’d love to visit, then this might be the book for you! 3 stars.

I received a complimentary copy of this book. All opinions are my own.

This book was so good , I read it in one day! I liked the characters even tho I kinda wanted to shake them a few times during the story. It has just the right amount of romance which makes it the perfect beach read. The bookshop sounds perfect too. Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for the early copy

Bookshop by the Sea is a sweet second chance romance by Denise Hunter.

Their reunion involves a family wedding, a hurricane, and an injury. Everything is adorable with the way they reconnect and quickly mean so much to one another.

Sophie's opening her new bookstore, Aiden has a girlfriend, and there's some family issues as well. Sophie has lived a life full of sacrifice for her family. Seeing someone appreciate this is great.

There isn't too much to the relationship. No real angst. Just a nice second chance.

This is a tender small town romance with some great neighbors and plenty of small town charm. It totally warms the heart.

Bookshop by the Sea is a perfect feel-good read. This Denise Hunter is definitely a wonderful choice the next time you're in the mood for a good beach read.

This was such a delightful read!
Although the ending was somewhat predictable, that certainly didn't take any enjoyment away from this story at all.
The characters were wonderful and endearing, and the ways in which both Sophie and Aiden grew as individuals as the story progressed was wonderful to follow.
A great storyline, brilliant characters and a heart warming ending. I really enjoyed this book.

A sweet, easy romance for lazing by the pool or beach.
There were no hidden twists or darkness to this story. It is a very simple love story set in a quaint, seaside town full of nice people. The ending was obvious from the beginning but it didn't take away the pleasure of reading it. The main character is selfless, even fulfilling her mothers dream of a bookshop and has a family that takes advantage at every turn. The guy is charming and wants to be a better man, but his childhood trauma stifles his emotional growth. If you are looking for a gentle tale to escape from life for an afternoon, this ticks that box.
Thank you Netgalley for the ARC, this is my honest review.

Sometimes you have to grow up to see what your past has done to you. This was so true for Sophie and Aiden. They were meant to be together, but they had to get out of their own way. Our past definitely contributes to who we are today, but it doesn't have to define us. What a great story!

Sophie Lawson and Aiden Maddox were sweethearts in high school. Sophie becomes caregiver to her mom and cares for her siblings after her father abandons them. Then Aiden gets an opportunity for a job and career and leaves Sophie behind not know that her father has left. When Aiden returns to be best man in her sisters wedding, they realize that they still have feelings for each other. Aiden becomes stranded after a hurricane like storm hits and he and Sophie are sharing the same guesthouse. Can they resolve their relationship issues and become a couple again? Cute romance! Easy read!

Thanks to Denise Hunter and Thomas Nelson for the book!

I really enjoyed this story! I loved the beach setting and the bookstore. I felt it was a little predictable which can be typical of these types of books. Over all would recommend

I really loved this story. Sophie Lawson came back to Pipers' Cove to open a Bookshop. She was there for her sisters wedding. Ever since her mother died she has worked to keep the family together as her father had left them when her mother got sick and also the day Aiden left her for a job. See how she reacts and what happens when she sees Aiden at the rehearsal dinner and what happens to keep him in Pipers' Cove. This is A GREAT READ.

Bookshop by the Sea features one of my favorite tropes- second chance
romance! Aiden and Sophie shared a history, but it didn't end well. So when Aiden returns for Sophie's sister's wedding, it's not rice in the air - but sparks! It was interesting to read about what drove them apart at the start and the obstacles that keep them from being together. They definitely weather storms - both in metaphorically and literally. Umm, a hurricane!

Also I absolutely LOVE when authors tie in characters from previous series and this book features one of my favorite heroes from another story. The author also didn't shy away from faith elements, but introduced them in an organic way that is heart-strengthening.

*I received a copy from Netgalley. All opinions are my own.

Denis Hunter is one of my favorite authors so it’s not surprise that I fell in love with Bookshop by the Sea immediately. Not only did I love Sophie and Aiden’s love story, but I loved the story of grace and forgiveness within the plot.
The two are reconnected at a family wedding. They realized their feelings for each other have not waned, despite not seeing each other for 7 years. As they weather the storms of life together, they rekindle their romance and learn how to overcome obstacles.

Didn't love this new release from Hunter. Felt a bit too predictable and the characters made me want to smack them. Hunter's a great writer and so it was still a good read, but for me, not a great one.

I received an advanced reader copy from NetGalley, but all opinions are my own!

Excellent! This book has all the feels. It’s an emotional story of high school sweethearts who find their second chance at love. Both were shaped by circumstances of their youth, there are misunderstandings and fear, but with the help of a hurricane, an injury, and a sense of obligation, they find themselves spending time together and realizing their feelings for each other never went away. Family, friendships, faith, and forgiveness all work together to help them each overcome their fears, if they will only recognize that and be willing to take the chance. Enchanting characters, a charming town, a bookstore, and a visit by a character from a previous Denise Hunter book make this an entertaining and heartwarming read!

@deniseahunter is one of my all time favorite authors. I was so excited that I received an early digital copy of her latest book Bookshop by the Sea!

This book was incredible! Every time I dive into a Denise Hunter book I get lost in the story she brings to life. I find myself rapidly turning the pages, but always sad when I've read the book too fast, because I want to read more of the characters she has created. This was no different. I also found myself relating to Sophie, with different parts of her background, her personality, and how she interacts with her family at times.

Then there was Aiden, oh Aiden. He may have become one of my favorite men that Hunter has created. The way he steps up and takes care of Sophie in her time of need. He goes above and beyond. I loved every moment of this book! I will definitely be buying a hard copy! Highly recommend!

Also, the cover is beautiful! Thank you @netgalley for an early copy in exchange for an honest review!

The Bookshop by the Sea is another great Christian fiction novel by Denise Hunter. With a story full of beaches, family issues, second change romance and books, it doesn't get any better than this. Denise Hunter never lets you down. I loved this book. Thanks to author Denise Hunter, publisher Thomas Nelson, and NetGalley for providing a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Aiden had a great business opportunity so left Sophie behind to seek his dream seven years ago. He did not know that he said goodbye on the day her father left the family. Sophie’s mother was bedridden, and her brother and sister needed her, so she discarded her dream of college to stay with them. Sophie dreaded seeing Aiden for the first time after he left when her sister got married. Sophie and Aiden both have abandonment issues even though their love rekindles. Sophie needs to take care of herself instead of putting her family first. This is a good Christian romance, and a look at sharing responsibility and allowing others to help.
