Okay, I was expecting something light and fluffy, there are some light moments but this one got me right in the feels.
Audrey Miller has lived in Kissing Creek her whole life with more responsibility than most women her age. She works two jobs supporting herself and her younger siblings. Her main goal to get them to college and out of their small town.
Ronan Walsh is the new young professor who she mistakes for a student. She utters something embarrassing about the hot guy ordering coffee and is sure he is only posing as a faculty member for the discount. This whole scene is silly cute.
They are both attracted to one another but Audrey has no plans of leaving her family and she's sure that Ronan will eventually leave the university the first chance he gets. Both are not looking for love but will they be able to avoid it?
Thanks so much to Entangled and NetGalley for this ARC to review.

I loved this new beginning of a series of small town romances! I loved all the quirky facts that were in the book, it’s just that quirkiness I love! I adore small town life, so that was a plus before hand, later on the banter between Audrey and Ronan and their steaminess together, it was a joy to read.
This is what it’s all about: Audrey Miller doesn’t believe in happily-ever-after, so she is definitely living in the wrong town. But she’s never getting out of Kissing Creek, because playing pseudo-mom for her younger siblings doesn’t leave time for much else. She’ll do anything to make sure they don’t end up stuck like she is, working as a barista in a college town, serving Pink Passion mochas with Chocolate Smooch donuts.
Then Ronan Walsh, a new young professor and walking cliché, right down to the elbow patches on his blazer, steps in for a coffee and into her life. She knows his type—intelligent and charming, yet sweet as a cinnamon roll, the sort of man she’s inevitably attracted to but is always out of her league. So why does someone like him have any interest in a worker bee with no future?
Her bland-as-oatmeal existence has nothing to offer, but Ronan’s temporary teaching position is only a stepping stone on his way to somewhere else. He isn’t here to put down roots, Audrey’s roots are firmly planted—neither of them is looking for love. And maybe that’s just perfect.
But in a small town called Kissing Creek, sometimes love can be impossible to avoid...
Kissing Lessons is the first book in Stefanie London’s new Kissing Creek series, and it delved into a lot more serious topics than I originally thought it would when I first saw the cover and read the blurb. Let’s just say it took me places I didn’t expect to go when I first picked it up.
This book is not just about the relationship between the hero and heroine, but it also highlights the importance of confronting negative relationships in our lives and either working to fix them or cutting them out altogether. It also highlights the importance of family–even when it’s not the picture of a traditional family unit. Family is who we make it, and despite what relationships that unit is made up of, a supportive family is important to our growth and our success in life. But we’re all flawed. We’re all human. And we’re all a work in progress. We can work towards accepting our mistakes, failures, and shortcomings and learning and growing from them. And we certainly shouldn’t be a doormat and let people walk all over our feelings, dreams, and goals for our future.
NICUnurse’s Rating: I wouldn’t say this book is angsty, but there are some really emotional parts, so if you’re looking for more of a rom-com, you might not like where this book takes you. There are some light-hearted and laugh out loud moments scattered throughout, but it’s definitely not a rom-com, in my opinion. And while it wasn’t “a can’t put it down” read, it was a very entertaining read that I looked forward to coming back to when I did have to put it down. I loved that Audrey is a young woman who is confident in her body, even if it’s not model thin, and she’s confident in herself even though she’s not a traditional college student. And I really liked that Ronan could see beyond what might trip other young men up and truly see her, value her, and connect with her. Both Audrey and Ronan do a lot of learning and growing in this story, and not necessarily in an academic way. If you enjoy contemporary romance books that lean heavily on emotion, Kissing Lessons is a story you won’t want to miss.
I give Kissing Lessons by Stefanie London 4 out of 5 stars!
Thanks go to the publisher and Net-Galley for the complimentary copy of Kissing Lessons by Stefanie London for the purpose of reading and reviewing prior to publication. My opinions are my own, and no one has influenced them.
Kissing Lessons is an emotionally charged romance with compelling characters and a great plot. The pacing kept me engaged from the first page to the last. There’s a true message of sacrifice for one’s family in this lovely story.
Audrey Miller’s character is one of sacrifice and courage, of determination to protect her siblings. I found her an amazing character with a huge heart. My heart ached for her and her self-esteem issues, and for her fear of letting the hero in because of what she believes will cause her heartbreak when he leaves her to further his career.
Ronan Walsh is an engaging hero. He’s far from the typical male lead. He fits the professor arche type down to the patches on his sports jacket. He has baggage from his past which makes him leery of having a relationship, yet he’s unable to resist Audrey. He’s not only physically attracted to her, her keen mind draws him even more. He a goner from their first meeting, but it just takes him a while to realize she’s all he will ever need in his life.
The romance between Audrey and Ronan flames to life from their first meeting and only grows stronger as the story progresses. I thoroughly enjoyed the well written sexual scenes, which surprised me since I’m usually not fond of explicit lovemaking. Ms. London does an amazing job in using all the senses, so they enhanced their love story a great deal.
If you enjoy contemporary romances with a strong heroine determined to do it all, then you will love Kissing Lessons as much as I did. This is the first book I’ve read by Ms. London, but it will not be the last. Happy reading!
Immediately annoyed by heroine by hero. Tryna be cutesy but went too far to irritating and a heroine who would not have friends do to her judgy, better/smarter than others attitude.
I don't like teacher/student relationships or power dynamics like that, it's super gross and makes me hate whoever has authority in the unbalanced relationship. from the second meeting dude was unprofessional and if she was so looking forward to taking his class wouldn't she have googled him???
and he didn't seem that smart and neither did she? knowing a lot of facts with no context is lame. wow this book and characters really got to me..
the book was an amalgamation of romance tropes done mediocrely to poorly.
Kissing Lessons is the first book in The Kissing Creek Series and it is narrated in third person. I liked the use of a third person narrator because it showed me the feelings and thoughts of multiple characters without being overwhelming.
I really love the relationship between Audrey and Ronan because it is cute and at times very hilarious. I love how supportive Ronan is and how he wants to help Audrey realise her full potential. I feel like Audrey was taken advantage of not only by her father but also her siblings. I feel like her siblings could have been more independent and helped Audrey out.
This book is a beautifully written romance with lots of laugh out loud moments. It is my first book from Stefanie London but it definitely won’t be the last.
I recieved an advanced copy for free, and this is my honest opinion.
This book was a little slow for me. Both Audrey and Ronan have some fairly serious family issues that didn't come across in the book description, so the story is not as light-hearted and fun as I was expecting. It's a fairly straightforward small town romance, with slightly older guy. Neither of the characters really drew me in - I didn't feel like I learned enough about Ronan, and Audrey was so self-sacrificing.
I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
The storyline was wonderfully written and the characters were very likable, believable and engaging which made this book a very enjoyable read!
Thank you so much to Entangled Amara and Netgalley for letting me read an ARC of Kissing Lessons by Stefanie London early! I read Bad Bachelor by Stefanie London earlier this year and I really liked her writing style, so I was very excited to read Kissing Lessons and it definitely did not disappoint- for sure what I needed during the craziness of election results week!

There was so much to like about this book! I liked how Audrey took care of her siblings no matter what (your girl loves her family bonds!), I loved the coffee shop (yum coffee!), and I liked Ronan a lot! I thought the small college in the town of Kissing Creek didn't seem like a real college, especially since it was so new, but that's because I'm from a college town with a pretty old college (pretty old by American standards anyway) in it. It also seemed weird to me that it would be so small and still be a research university with PhD students and classes like the one that Ronan was teaching, but I digress. I thought Audrey and Ronan's first meeting was really cute- the fact that she called him a sex robot and that was repeated throughout the book was great. I also really liked all of the appearances by the llama throughout the book. I thought the growth that Ronan had with his family was great too- and Audrey's growth in herself was great too. And the romance between the two of them was so cute and adorable and I loved reading it! Overall, Kissing Lessons was a really cute, fun read and I highly recommend it to anyone! Kissing lessons comes out on November 9th, so make sure you check it out then!
What a cute book! Stefanie writes such fun books. There were some fun facts in this one. We had laughter, romance, and a Llama. Audrey and Ronan both were set in their ways and knew how their lives were going to always be. But things change. These two helped each other. Showed what could be if they just could get over the fear of not getting hurt. Ronan and Audrey were complete opposites. But opposites do attract. I loved how Audrey cared for not only her siblings, but everyone. And Ronan not only saw a beautiful woman on the outside, he saw all the beauty she held within. For a fun, light read go grab this one today.
Audrey Miller is a barista and 'hawker of spiritual wares.' She gave up her own dreams to help raise her brothers and sisters after their father checked out, after their mother died. She's smart and brainy, often spouting various facts and trivia, especially when she's nervous. She also has a lot of negative inner monologue and assuming people think the worst of her.
Roman Walsh is a professor who transferred back to the U.S. to teach after his grandmother had a stroke. He's ambitious, with plans to become and Ivy League professor and have his own books published. His work is his life until he meets Audrey. He has fears of abandonment after his mother walked out on him and his sister when they were young.
These two got off on the wrong foot after Audrey accuses him of impersonating college faculty and calling him a sex robot. Only to discover not only is he a professor he's teaching her evening class.
This is a sweet, heart warming, small town romance of two people deeply hurt by their parents, hiding from life's possibilities until they meet each other. They take a few bumps along the way to their happily ever after, but it's Hallmark sweet by the end.

I’m in love with Kissing Creek!
Audrey is such a strong, caring role-model to her siblings who she is raising in very difficult circumstances. She works hard, stays positive and is incredibly smart even though she never finished high school. But she never puts herself first and refused to think about her own future.
Ronan won me over with his humour and big-yet-guarded heart. He loves his sister and Grandmother, enough to give up a job at a prestigious University to move closer to them in a time of need. But after being neglected by his own mother, he’s decided there’s no love and family of his own in the future.
Watching Audrey and Ronan fall for each other in kitschy Kissing Creek was such a joy. I love how Stefanie London always manages to make me smile with her humoros writing style, but still tackles some really dark issues. I can’t wait for more in this series.
A cute story. Some funny moments and certainly a little heartbreaking. I did find a little slow in parts and was not completely engaged.
Audrey couldn’t leave and Ronan didn’t want to stay!
Audrey Miller dropped of school to support her family and raise her younger sisters and brother because their dad can’t keep a job after crawling into the bottom of a bottle. Audrey is working two job, raising her siblings and auditing one class a semester when she meets a new professor at her job as a barista at Kisspresso Café.
Ronan Walsh just wants to mark time teaching at Harrison Beech College while he finishes his book and hopefully move on to teaching at a larger college. Meeting Audrey and dealing with his mom makes him realize just what he would be missing if he left Kissing Creek.
I loved all the random facts because I wanted to get to the next chapter to find out what random fact was mentioned.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Really enjoyed this fun, sassy read. Audrey is such fun and her personality leaps off the page. Ronan is charming and you get a real feel for who he is. Definitely enjoyed the supporting characters and the quirky town. Definitely the light hearted read I need to get away. One I think you will enjoy. I received a free copy of the book and I am voluntarily leaving a review.
Wow, I loved this book. Rohan has moved to Kissing Creek for a year contract at the local University. When he walks into the local coffee shop, Kisspresso, he has a meet cute with Audrey. Audrey quit High School ten years ago and works two jobs to support her siblings. She allows herself one indulgence, one night class at the local college. Of course, the one night class she signs up for is Rohan’s class. While this sounds like a typical small town romance, both characters are complicated. Rohan and Audrey were both abandoned by a parental figure and deals with it in different ways. Rohan has kept people at arms length and focused on his career, to keep his heart safe. Audrey has made her siblings her life, and assumes that just existing is all she can expect. These are truly two good people that are afraid to open themselves up to love. Be sure to keep a tissue handy, as I teamed up several times. I really cannot wait to read the next book in this series. I received an ARC of this book from the author and Publisher for my honest review.
Audrey put her life on hold for her younger siblings, after her mother’s death. She works two jobs to make ends meet and support her father and siblings. Her only pleasure is the class she attends at the local university.
When Ronan walks into the coffee shop, Audrey calls him a sex robot out loud, and then accuses him of trying to cheat and get a faculty discount, totally unaware that he is the new Professor at the University and will be teaching the classes she has signed up for.
Audrey and Ronan share some amazing chemistry and watching them navigate it was fun. There were a lot of challenges for them to overcome before being together, family issues and the forbidden aspect of teacher and student to name a few, and I really enjoyed watching them come together despite those.
I found Audrey’s selfless nature very endearing and was rooting for her HEA from the start and was happy to see she found it with Ronan
Kissing Lessons by Stefanie London was a really beautiful read! It's about Audrey, a woman in her mid-twenties who's become a surrogate mom to her younger siblings and has given up her life to ensure that they have a future. She has a wonderful relationship with her siblings, built out of love and respect. Into the picture comes Ronan, a new professor at the local university where Audrey takes classes. Sparks fly from the second they meet but they don't act on it because of their professional relationship.
This story was surprising! It was nothing like I expected. The two characters are very different from one another but their mutual attraction and their love of learning and knowledge pulls them together. I love that this book had multiple POV's and that we got a peek into both their heads. It definitely made the story better!
One of my favorite parts in the book is the trivia knowledge. Audrey shares a trivia fact with her siblings at the start of everyday, so the entire book has random facts sprinkled in. It was extremely fascinating and I really appreciated it!
The book is mainly light and fun, but it does address some serious topics. There were some really surprising plot lines that I didn't expect, but for the most part the book was a very classic romance novel! It was quirky and cheesy, but also intense at times.
I'd definitely recommend this book if you're looking for a romance novel that will make you smile!
Kissing Lessons is a cute read. You will love the strength that Audrey has. She does everything she can to take care of her younger siblings even if it means putting her own life on hold. Ronan is the sexy professor new in town. You feel the sparks from the start. You will giggle and maybe tear up a little as this one goes along. I love how Ronan breaks down Audrey's defenses and shows her it's okay to let someone else be there to help. The chemistry is sweet and hot between Audrey and Ronan. You will just have to read this and fall in love with Kissing Creek like I did.
