Remember that sinking feeling when you realize everything might not be as it seems? That’s the experience *Trust Me* by Sheryl Browne delivers. From the first chapter, this psychological thriller had me on edge, pulling me into a web of suspicion and doubt.
The story centers on Ellen, who’s rebuilding her life after a tragedy. When she meets someone new, it seems like a fresh start, until unsettling secrets begin to surface. Browne expertly crafts an atmosphere of tension, making every twist feel like a revelation. Just when you think you’ve got it figured out, she throws in another surprise.
What stood out to me was the way Browne brings her characters to life. Ellen’s emotional journey is raw and relatable, making you feel every moment of her uncertainty. The pacing is tight, and the story unfolds with just the right amount of suspense.
*Trust Me* is a gripping read that keeps you questioning until the very end. If you’re in the mood for a thriller that makes you think, this one should be at the top of your list.

5 stars (sorry its late had technical issues at time submitting my review)
Such a epic read, read within a day I couldn't put it down compelling, twisty. Dark and addictive made me want more! Edge of seat page turner! Highly recommend
We follow Emily and Jake in this story. Jake is a doctor, and Emily works in his office. Emily is led to believe Jake is cheating. I loved the setting in this book. Sheryl Browne nails the drama build up. The ending, I didn't see coming. I enjoyed this. 3.5 stars
Each and every time I read a book by this talented author, I realise once again why I love her stories so much.
The characters are so real, you almost forget they are fictional and you are not about to bump into them any time soon.
Who to trust in this story? The author manages to make me doubt almost everyone, making it very hard to decide on the name of the despicable person causing so much trouble.
So yes, this means waiting until the author is ready to give us all the details and finally decides to put us out of our misery. ;)
Betrayal and deceit are two ingredients of this suspenseful story that had me sitting on the edge of my chair.
This is a great book, but this did not come as a surprise to me. I have read and loved every book I have got my hands on by this author. 5 stars
Thank you
A cracking read, great characters and a compelling plot. I actuallly read it in one evening - it was that gripping!
Sheryl Browne has a great ability to write great thriller novels that just keeps you guess throughout. Just when you think you’ve worked it out. Suddenly a curve ball comes and this one certainly doesn’t disappoint.
Thank you to both NetGalley and publishers for gifting me this book
This was a great thriller and I would recommend it to anyone who likes a good mystery or thriller. It was fast paced, full of twists and intrigue and definitely kept me guessing
This was a fast paced thriller that really needs to be read in one sitting in order to keep up! So many times I thought I’d worked it all out only to find more intrigue and mystery.
Emily and Jake run the local surgery together, and along with their two children seem to have an idyllic life.
However Emily is tormented by the loss of her twin sister when they were younger and blames herself for her death.
When someone starts sending letters and E-mails to the locals with information that can only have come from the confidential information at the doctors, the community is torn apart with tragic consequences.
There were times when I struggled to keep up with everything going on, but overall I really enjoyed this.
Amazing 👏
This book is one that most mystery books fans will really enjoy.
The plot had so many twists and turns I couldn’t put the book down
I would recommend this book to anyone who likes mystery or thriller.
This was a very good book - working in a doctor's surgery as a married couple in a small village can be very difficult. when someone starts to repeat secret information that shocks the village it becomes a place of distrust and anger. Emily has a real problem trusting her husband Jake and when a letter insinuates that he is having an affair she cannot forget. I loved the relationship between Jake and his father Tom who had been unfaithful to his mum when Jake was growing up. Family secrets come out, will it make them stronger or split them apart forever?
Sheryl Browne has a devious, creative mind. Trust Me is about a couple who start having problems and very quickly so many things happen you are truly not sure who to trust!
She builds a story that has you second guessing every character throughout the whole story while keeping you engaged.
Trust Me has an interesting plot and many twists while we find out who is causing all of the issues to so many members of this quaint little town. Your heart will ache for them as you unravel the mystery of this fabulous novel.
A must read for fans of thrillers or Sheryl Browne!
Wow!!! I honestly could not recommend this book more.
They amount of guesses I had on who the culprit was and still didn’t get it right, is beyond me.
Brilliantly written. I recommend not reading it of a nighttime as you will end up not sleeping and just turning the pages to read more and more.
Trust takes forever to earn, but just seconds to lose. And this is very clear in this thrilling read about a wife that can't trust her husband, but she is just as guilty.... Recommended for anyone who loves a good thrilling read!
A well written thriller, really good, fast paced, keeps you interested until the end!
Thank you to NetGallley and Bookouture for the ARC of this book. This is my honest review. All opinions are my own.
I really enhoyed this book! I found it to be an easy read to finish in a day! If you love thrillers, you may enjoy this one!
There was some good characters but it was just a bit too unrealistic for me. It was fast paced with twists and turns but a little too much drama for me. I found some of the characters a little annoying.
Thank you #netgalley, #bookouture and #sherylbrowne for a copy of this book.
Everyone thinks Emily and Jake are the perfect couple. They work together at their medical practice, have two lovely kids and just seem so in love.
But cracks start to appear when Emily starts to think Jake is having an affair. She didn't have cause to believe it until she received an anonymous email saying so. And unfortunately, she is not the only resident in their small town that is receiving similar emails or letters. And it's starting to cause a lot of problems! When fingers start to point to Emily being the culprit, she starts her own investigation to prove her innocence. But in doing so, Emily is pushed closer to the edge due to all the stress. Will she find the culprit before she snaps? And can she trust those closest to her?
This was a really fast paced read. Not a lot happened until the last half of the book but the ending definitely made up for the slow start. The twists and secrets were great, if a little implausible. Who knew everyone in such a small town had such big secrets!

I loved Trust Me. There was so much drama in this book. All the couples are keeping secrets, and the reactions when the secrets are revealed are crazy. Trust Me is told from multiple perspectives which really added to the story. The main story is Emily and Jake, but their friends and family are also important to the story.
This book is paced well. The story ties up very well at the end and is engrossing right from the start. If you like suspense novels, this is certainly a book that I recommend.
I was intrigued by this book after hearing Sheryl Browne herself talk about it on a Facebook Bookouture Thriller Panel that aired back in August. I was left wondering why I had left it so long to come to this author, as her books sounded brilliant!
This book certainly did not disappoint. You are thrown into the action straight away as Emily receives a devastating letter through the post that makes her question her trusting relationship with her husband Jake. The book leaves you wondering if you can trust Emily’s take on things, or if she is the last person you should trust?
The cliff hangers and dramatic plot points, twists and developments kept me hooked and guessing to the very last. I found myself tearing myself away from the book in order to sleep, eat etc!
Another fantastic psychological thriller by a brilliant Bookouture author!
