Josie Quinn you are my hero!

Lisa Regan has hit another home run with Breathe Your Last, the pages turn themselves as Josie and her team desperately try to solve why people are dying unexplainably : the champion swimmer drowns, the firefighter's house burnt down.

The pieces come together as the team follows the unbelievable time line of its victims.

The pace is relentless, I was holding my breath at the end.

I love this series , it keeps getting better with every book.

I am first in line for book 11.

Thanks to NetGalley and Bookouture for another exciting adventure with Josie Quinn.

Out of the park, Homerun! Lisa Regan has added a smart, fast paced, addition to her Detective Josie Quinn series. I had no time to take notes I was too busy concentrating on what had just happened, what was about to happen, what could happen, all the things that could go wrong, did go wrong, all while trying to remember to breathe. Unputdownable, had to read it to the end, wow, wow and wow !!!!!!!

Thank you NetGalley and Bookoutre for a copy

This is one of my favourite series. I know, I know I have already stated this umpteenth times, but it’s true! I can’t help it that there are so many fabulous writers creating amazing books I am allowed to read and review. 😊
Josie is a great character, but so are the rest of her team and family. You just have to love them and every adventure is to die for.
This book has, as usual, a lot of layers. There is suspense, I felt revulsion, there were beautiful and OH NOOO moments…
You wonder why baddies keep trying in Josie’s town. They should know by now she is a force to be reckoned with. Luckily for us, they still think they can outsmart her which results in another horribly good story I feasted on. 5 stars

Thank you, Lisa Regan and Bookouture

This book is filled with drama, action and suspense from the very first page. Lisa Regan is able to keep the story moving at a blinding pace and still keep the reader completely engaged. The plot twists were creative and held my attention so that I couldn't put this book down until the very last word.

Lisa Regan's Josie Quinn series is known for intriguing mysteries and heart-stopping suspense, and this latest book does not disappoint. Someone seems to be poisoning people in Denton with something that turns them into zombies that do whatever they're told. First a college swimmer who seems to drown and then a firefighter who sets his own house on fire. The incidents begin to pile-up, even involving one of Denton PD's own. Josie and team are chasing leads and trying to find a drug that does not show-up in normal blood tests. Meanwhile, Josie's boyfriend is acting strangely, disappearing at odd hours for unexplained time periods. Have Denton's power couple neglected their relationship. The danger of the investigation leaves the reader hanging. Will Josie and Noah break-up? Will this case kill more than their relationship? It's a great read with a surprise ending.

This is book number 10 in the Detective Josie Quinn series by Lisa Regan and it is just as great as the others! This book starts with Josie and her college aged younger brother, finding a girl floating in the school pool. As the University’s star swimmer, it doesn’t make sense that the girl drowned, but Josie is suspicious that there is more going on. As more victims are found, the clues don’t really add up and there are no suspects. Josie and her team have to find the truth before more people die from a mysterious killer.

This is another great read from Lisa Regan. I love this series so much, and cannot wait until another book comes out. I hope this series continues for a long time as I love the dynamic between Josie and her co-workers and all the other characters in her life. These books are really great and I recommend starting from the beginning and reading them in order to get the full effect. This book had so many unanswered questions as it was moving along and no suspects, it was written really well and entertaining as it was hard to determine early on who the killer was. It had twists and turns galore - another great book! I highly recommend this series if you like police procedural and murder mystery novels.

A local college swimming champion drowning and a retired firefighter setting his own house on fire while his two granddaughters are inside, leave Josie and her team searching for answers. While trying to find a possible connection between these incidents, Josie also struggles with Noah not being his usual self.

What a great read, book 10 definitely fulfilled my expectations! The story progressed with speed and I had absolutely no idea who the killer would be until fairly into the book. I love all the characters of the series and how they developed and became important to Josie over time. All of them had an appearance in the book at some point, which I really enjoyed.

And then there is the ending – wow – talk about suspense! While at some point I could imagine who the killer would be, never would I have expected such a dramatic development!

I definitely recommend this book and can’t wait to see what waits for Josie in the future!

I would like to thank NetGalley, Bookouture and the author for supplying a copy of this novel in exchange for an honest review.

I would like to thank Netgalley and Bookouture for an advance copy of Breathe Your Last, the tenth novel to feature Detective Josie Quinn of the Denton, Pennsylvania PD.

When Jessie visits her brother, Patrick, at his work at the University swimming pool she finds the star swimmer, Nysa Somers, unresponsive in the pool and, despite her best efforts, Nysa is pronounced dead. Then revered firefighter, according to his granddaughters, sets his house on fire, almost killing them all. Josie and the team must work out what is happening and why.

I thoroughly enjoyed Breathe Your Last, which is a heart pounding thriller with a good mystery attached. It’s an emotional rollercoaster and even had me in tears at one point. Mostly the novel is told from Josie’s point of view so the reader can ride the roller coaster with her as she stumbles from one action scene to the next, and there are plenty. There are also a few first person chapters from the unidentified killer. These are quite chilling in their matter of factness and quite puzzling as they offer no clues to identity, preferring to offer what to most of us would be a flimsy motive. I found the novel to be fast moving and absorbing, if not realistic but who needs realism in fiction?

I like Josie Quinn who has a troubled past but which is maturing into a happy present with boyfriend Noah and her newfound family. I prefer that the plot now concentrates on her investigative skills, although the happy personal details offer a small break from the carnage of the job.

Breathe Your Last is a good read that I have no hesitation in recommending.

Josie and Noah are back again! Book #10 in the Josie Quinn series is still a great series even book #10!! This book has you captivated from the first pages with the death of a young college girl who is the town's best swimmer on the swimming team that dies from drowning? It's up to Josie and her team to figure out how this strong swimmer could possibly die this way or is it somehow murder? I was completely blind sided when I got to the end and found out who was slowly killing members of the town. After 10 books you get so invested in the characters of the book that you can't help but want more and more! One of my favorite series of all time. Love the writing, the characters and that every book is so different. Definitely recommend this series and this book . I know you will love it as much as I do!!!!

This is the tenth book in this series and I have enjoyed all of them. The mystery keeps you guessing who and why until near the end of the story. I did really like how this book shows more growth in the characters and more emotional development.

Breathe Your Last opens with Nysa, a champion swimmer, seemingly drowning in the pool of Denton College. To her family and friends this seems inconceivable and murder is immediately suspected. Her autopsy shows no foul play and she did indeed drown. Detective Josie Quinn has an instinct that it's not as straightforward as it seems and her investigation leads down a direction totally unexpected. Lisa Regan never disappoints and I think Breathe Your Last is among the best in the Josie Quinn series. I recommend.

Thanks to Netgalley, Bookouture and the author for this ARC
I really really enjoyed this book. It had me engrossed from the first page. Number 10 in the series and none of the staleness nor sameness that you sometimes get in long running series. Lisa Regan has come up with a very clever and unusual plot that really is an addictive and nail bitting. I didn’t want to put this down and I read it over one 24 hours. A great rollercoaster of a read with an explosive emotional ending

4.5 stars

An experienced champion swimmer drowned, her belonging found with a strange symbol and a message to be a mermaid, a retired firefighter's home is engulfed in flames after he says, "be a match". What is going on in Denton, Pennsylvania? What is the connection between the swimmer and fire fighter? The strange symbol was located near each of the crime scenes - they are crime scenes, right? Josie Quinn is going to do everything she can to find out! She also needs to find out what is going on with Noah, who is not acting like himself. He is withdrawn, quiet and being secretive.

This is book ten in the Detective Josie Quinn series and I cannot wait for book eleven to come out. Thankfully, Lisa Regan is a fast writer!! Like the other books in the series, this book piqued my interest from the very first page. I was quickly glued to the pages and curious to see what the investigation would reveal.

Not only was the investigation and crime intriguing in this book, I was also impressed with the character development in this book. If you have been reading this book from the beginning, you will know that Josie along with the other members of her team have all grown and become closer over the course of this series. We have been given glimpses into their pasts, their relationships, their family life, etc. We have watched them struggle, overcome personal issues, love, build strong friendships and have working camaraderie with their coworkers. Josie is tough as nails, but it was also nice to see a more vulnerable side of her in this book.

Another riveting page turner from Regan. As always, this book was beautifully written and perfectly paced. Nothing felt rushed nor drawn out in this book. Josie and her team are knee deep in the action in this book. Josie's loved ones also make appearances as well. I really enjoy the cast of characters in this book.

Then there is THAT ending! Whew!

Breath Your Last is a well written, intriguing book that had me on the edge of my seat.

Highly Recommend.

Thank you to Bookouture and NetGalley who provided me with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. All the thoughts and opinions are my own.

Has spoilers!!!!! Just a heads up!

Another Amazing book in the series. I first thought oh no is Noah the killer this time.....nooo it can't be him. He was acting suspicious the entire book!

This one some how made me want brownies 😂. Although it does make you think twice about eating food that people make you. Just never know these days....which is sad.

I really wish this would become a TV show. The amount of detail Lisa puts into her work makes you feel like you are actually there with all the characters.

Ok so towards the end I got really pissed. Like how can you kill of Noah!!!! How can you do that to Quinn!!!! Oh just kidding 😑. This part literally made me so angry 🤣. Then it got better of course. Can't wait for book 11 to hear about a wedding!!!!

Lisa Regan has done it again! This next installment in the Josie Quinn series is a classic "Who Dunnit?" mystery novel. At the heart of the book is the mystery of how a local swim champion can possibly drown in an indoor pool. The victim walks into the gym as if nothing is wrong and hours later her body is found floating in the pool. Is it suicide? If not, how is it possible that a murder actually took place when no one else was seen entering the gym. What follows is a series of odd incidents that on the surface make no sense. I was actually in stiches laughing in one of the first chapters when Josie was driving Misty and her son Harris to pre-school for the first time. I won't say more accept to say that having Josie as a god mother will definitely give Harris a different sort of education. If you love this Josie Quinn mystery series, this book will certainly not disappoint.

Once again Lisa Regan gives us another brilliant, nail biting, roller coaster of a ride and an excellent addition to the Josie Quinn series with Breathe Your Last and believe me there were times when I nearly did myself.

The death of the universities top swimmer by drowning in the local swimming pool is just the start of a series of unusual and mysteries incidents that happen in Denton that Detective Josie Quinn and her team must investigate.

As always Josie will stop at nothing to get a result and find the perpetrator even if it means putting herself in danger.

Great storyline and excellent characters, including sister Trinity, brother Patrick and partner Noah to name just a few, make this a fabulous read.
There were times I took deep breaths, gasped "Oh No" and shed a few tears- now that's what makes Breathe Your Last such a super novel.

Many thanks to Netgalley and Bookouture for an ARC for my honest review.

Heart stopping page turner.
It starts with the thoughts of a calculated killer which we hear multiple times throughout the book. Josie heads to the university to bitch out her brother for turning her workshirts pink and stumbles across a champion swimmer drowned in the pool. How can this happen? The next day, according to his grandchildren, a retired firefighter sets his house ablaze. The only commonality is brownies. As more strange things happen, Josie gets help from surprising source, her brother Patrick. If it wasn't enough that she has her hands full with a tough investigation, life is not peachy on the homefront with Noah being so distant.
You think you've figured out who the killer is but you're likely wrong. The tension is really ratcheted up in the last few chapters to a heart pounding conclusion. I can't wait for the book 11!

Thank you Netgalley and Bookouture for this ARC.

Josie Quinn leads the readers on another wild ride! Breathe Your Last by Lisa Regan is the tenth in the Detective Josie Quinn series. I enjoy this series very much and reading each new book is like a visit with friends. This book starts with a narrative from the killer that lets the reader know this person has no compassion for others.
Josie makes a stop to take her brother Patrick a shirt for his new job and stumbles upon a victim of what appears to be a drowning Soon there are other unexplainable incidents that leave others clinging to life soon after they eat brownies from an unknown source.
When Josie traces the evidence and finds someone is using "Devils Breath" to drug random people, she knows there is a serious problem in her town. I won't post spoilers, but it is scary to think someone could use this type of drug so easily. The scene with Josie, Noah, Misti, and Harris is frightening!
Thank you to NetGalley, the author, and publisher for the opportunity to read and review this book.
