I didn’t think I could like the sequel as much as the original, but this one surpassed my expectations. Pip and Ravi are back again, this time looking for a friend’s missing brother when the police won’t get involved. There were many twists and turns, leading to a poignant yet satisfying end. I’m looking forward to the next book!

This book was a spectacular sequel. I loved the first one so much and this one did not disappoint. I loved jumping back into Pip’s world.

I always appreciate when the second book in a series is equally as compelling as the first book. Often times, I feel like the second book falls short. I don't believe this is the case with Good Girl, Bad Blood. I enjoyed this book just as much as the first one and devoured it in a few days.

The author does a great job of keeping you guessing the entire time. I did not predict the ending at all and found the twists and turns and discoveries that Pip makes made for another great mystery novel.

After swearing off investigating after what it did to her, her family, and the people around her, Pip finds herself breaking that promise when her best friend begs her to find his brother after he goes missing. With the help of Connor and Ravi, they embark on another journey of trying to find Jamie when the rest of the town believes he has just run away for a few days. Instead of a case study like she did for her junior year project, she documents her progress using her podcast, A Good Girl's Guide to Murder. She interviews key people in the disappearance of Jamie as well as shares her case notes on her podcast. As Jamie's disappearance is season 2 of her podcast, Pip is still following through with the final parts of the Andie Bell case. She is recording the details and outcomes of Max Hastings as he is being tried for sexual assault.

I don't want to give a summary of Pip, Connor, and Ravi's journey as they piece together clues of Jamie's disappearance because they are unexpected and would be too leading as to how the story ends. All I can say is that I had no idea where the story was going and the reason behind Jamie's disappearance, but it was another compelling mystery with an action-packed ending. Similarly to the first book, I enjoyed how the author broke up the story with interviews for her podcast and case notes.

I look forward to reading her next installment and finding out what other secrets the little town of Fairview, Connecticut is hiding.

I absolutely LOVED this book! Just as captivating as her first, Good Girl, Bad Blood had me on the edge of my seat trying to figure out what in the world was happening. I have not stayed up all night to finish a book in soooo long. I love the way Jackson embeds podcast scripts and Pip's case notes as it keeps the flow of the book moving so quickly. I did find some of the moments in the story unrealistic, similar to the first book, but it wasn't enough to distract from the story. I think going in knowing that it's going to be a bit wild helps in accepting this. Overall I cannot wait to recommend this book to students!

A quick read - similar to her first book. The drama and mystery were there like the first too, even if the story line seemed a little far fetched. I thought some components could have been explained or developed a little more (like Pip's friends Ant and Lauren) and I thought introducing the concept of Child Brunswick so late in the book was a bit of a stretch but the author did a good job of still making me care about it. I liked how the author touched upon PTSD at the end without beating you over the head about it and I'm eager to read the next book. I also appreciated how for the most part this story line was wrapped up by the end. I would definitely recommend to my students as a next read book if they liked the original and will be looking to add this title to my literature circles!

Pip and Ravi are back with another mystery, but this time one of her friends' brothers is missing. Pip swears she won't investigate another mystery, but it hits too hard to home.

I couldn't put Good Girl, Bad Blood down. I sort of guessed the main twist in the way of an inkling that something was fishy, but I still wanted to know how we got there. I love that Holly Jackson writes the stories in the way that everything you learned could be wrong; you doubt everything you know right alongside Pip. The mixed media (which was also in the first novel) was awesome and a great addition to the overall story.

I love Holly Jackson's writing and I'm excited to read the next book when it comes out. I definitely recommend A Good Girl's Guide to Murder and Good Girl, Bad Blood to anyone who loves mysteries and mixed media books. A younger teen probably shouldn't read either due to talk about suicide, murder, drugs, and rape.

Just like the first in the series, A Good Girl's Guide to Murder, I flew through this book, compulsively reading it at every opportunity. With the short cliffhangy chapters and the reader's desire to see if they can solve the mystery, it's a quick and satisfying read. Pip remains tough and steadfast, broadening her true crime horizons with a new podcast and a new mystery, struggling to do the right thing without putting herself and her loved ones in danger. Not that I want to keep torturing Pip, but I hope there are more books in the series -- I can't wait to read them!

I received this ARC through NetGalley. I did not think it was possible, but the second book in "A Good Girl's Guide to Murder" was even better than the first. Pippa has already solved one case that the police believed was already solved, in this installment of the series, you follow Pippa as she tries to figure out what happened to her friend's missing brother. This book contains mystery, suspense, and thrills. I could not put it down.

Loved this follow up to the first book. I read this in one day! I wasn’t sure where the author was going to go - another murder in the same town? But I like how it connected in some way to Andie and Sal, but was its own story.

I love this series! True crime feel, and it gets you interested from the beginning! I can’t wait for book 3, but especially glad that it didn’t leave on a cliffhanger as I think this is a series that is good with different books in between!

This is a perfect addition to any classroom library looking to fill a mystery/thriller hole for young readers. Perfectly relatable for teens and the mystery is compelling and satisfying. A great series to put in the hands of readers who love watching crime tv shows!

Pip is back, and now she has a podcast! I loved AGGGTM and was so excited to read Good Girl, Bad Blood.

Basic summary: Pip and Ravi have a true crime podcast that covers the case they solved in AGGGTM and a resulting trial. Their friend Connor's brother, Jamie, goes missing, and Pipa gets roped into helping find him, even though she said she's done investigating. (she is not)

I loved Pipa's development as a character - she was damaged by the last investigation and it affects her relationships with her friends and family. The eventual reveal was surprising (didn't see it coming, but didn't feel blindsided by a last-second bit of nonsense). This was such an enjoyable read, and I am already excited to read the third book!

I read A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder, the first installment in this trilogy by Holly Jackson, in August in the midst of reading through several library grabs that ended with being mediocre at best – but thankfully this book didn’t fall into the same blah pile as the other books, and neither did Good Girl, Bad Blood. I enjoy the premise for this series: sweet, innocent Pip who ends up uncovering all her small town’s dark secrets. Holly Jackson does well in keeping the pace both realistic and exciting. This series is a definite recommend for murder mystery lovers who prefer the chase and psychological twists more so than the actual crime.

A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder follows Pip as she solves a five-year-old cold case double murder in her small town of Fairview, Connecticut. Presumably, she chooses the case to report on the social media ramifications for her senior capstone project. Instead, she spend most of her fall semester uncovering all the lies told to keep the murders unsolved which ends with not one but four people facing criminal charges and the discovery of a missing teen. Of course the renewed media coverage alone shoots her to podcast fandom and rewards her with early acceptance into Columbia University. And all is well once again in Fairview. Well, it is until Pip’s friend’s older brother goes missing and the police refuse to help because, technically, Jamie, the person of interest, is an adult with a habit of disappearing for a few days in the past. Therefore, he is only labeled as “absent”. So, of course, Pip swoops in to save the day and once again reveals even more dark secrets hidden in her small town.

Overall, I give this novel four and a half stars… mostly because I greatly enjoy Holly Jackson’s writing style. She expertly weaves cliff-hangers, roadblocks, and a high-stakes mystery so that readers will never guess the ending. Moreover, with Good Girl, Bad Blood being book number two in her assumed trilogy (or series?), she’s able to continue de-tangling the aftermath from A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder. I also enjoyed her giving more secondary characters page-time in this sequel – which was one of my major aggravations in A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder. (In the first book, it’s mentioned a lot that Pip becomes obsessed with solving the double murder but there’s no page-time or relationship fall-out with any secondary characters to illustrate it!)

However, I took away half a star because I felt disappointed with the novel’s climax. I would have never guessed the ending, of course – which I consider to be a sign of quality writing; but the entire focus builds to finding Jamie only to at last discover the plot was actually building to a secondary plot that hadn’t even been introduced yet? This twist felt like Holly Jackson couldn’t get all her loose ends together in her original idea so she introduced another mystery at the last second to help her along. Now, personally, I am a huge fan of tying nation-wide mysteries to small town puzzles. However, if that is the direction Holly Jackson want to go, then my humble suggestion is to hint at that secondary plot throughout the narrative so that when the climax arrives, we’re not hit with a sudden change in direction but instead astounded by how everything fits together.

Verdict: Excellent mystery for fans who prefer the chase more than the outcome.

After the success of her investigation into the Andie Bell/Sal Singh case, Pip Fitz-Amobi has a podcast explaining all of her escapades in her mission to prove Sal innocent. When her friend Connor's brother, Jamie, goes missing, he convinces Pip to help him find Jamie, since the police won't do anything yet. Pip and her boyfriend, Ravi, dive in to their next investigation, but soon discover that maybe Jamie isn't in danger--he might just be the bad guy.

This book was a solid sequel. I really enjoyed getting to revisit some beloved characters, and Pip's sleuthing is as entertaining as ever. I feel like the ending was less of a surprise in this one, but there was still a neat twist at the end that I wasn't expecting. The only complaint that I have about this book is that the author's choice of words and phrasing sometimes sounds British. The story takes place in New England, but sometimes the wording isn't consistent with that. I noticed this in her first book as well, and even though it was still understandable, it was a bit jarring. Overall, I'd give it 4/5.

I loved this book and can't wait to start recommending it. It was even better than the first one which I loved so much I did a library display on books with a boarding school setting. The covers of these books are beautiful also and make me want to read them.

Fantastic sequel to 'A Good Girl's Guide to Murder'! I am not a podcast listener, but for some reason they very appealing to me in print form. I am very excited for the third installment to see the development of the characters and to see what trouble Pip gets into next!

Good Girl, Bad Blood returns us to Fairview, CT and high school student/accidental detective, Pip Fitz-Amobi. Pip gained fame after investigating and solving the Andie Bell case as part of her senior project in A Good Girl's Guide to Murder. She is keeping everyone updated on the trial by starting a podcast. She plans to finish out the trial and then leave that chapter of her life behind her... until her good friend's brother, Jamie Reynolds, goes missing. Pip has a platform to reach a wide audience, so as much as she does not want to dig into the darkness of a missing person, she feels obligated to use her platform to help her friend.

Sequels are sometimes tricky, but Good Girl, Bad Blood is wonderfully done! Holly Jackson nailed it! The story flows perfectly and I am now anxiously awaiting the third installment.

This is sure to be a hit amongst the readers in my library!

Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for an ARC.

Loved it!

I have really been enjoying this ‘Nancy Drew’ type YA series. I found myself relating so much to Pip... I have a tendency to get a lil obsessive when it comes to finding answers to questions. This was not overly complicated and moved at a steady pace. Fun ‘whodunnit’. 4.5.

I positively loved this follow up! So many twists and turns it kept me guessing until the end. I love this little universe and the main character, Pip. It's the perfect kind of mystery: fast paced, fun, and unpredictable.

I so greatly enjoyed A GOOD GIRL'S GUIDE TO MURDER, and was excited but apprehensive for a sequel. But I am happy to report that GOOD GIRL, BAD BLOOD is another suspenseful, well crafted mystery from Holly Jackson. I liked seeing Pip trying to move on from her investigation days but falling back into it because of a friend in need, as that definitely felt in character for her, while also opening the door to demonstrate how much emotional labor such a thing could be for a teenage girl. This is no Nancy Drew situation where Pip can just remain plucky and intrepid, and I liked seeing the consequences of that as the story goes on. I also really liked the podcast element, as it's another new and fun way to lay out evidence in one place without feeling like it's unnaturally done. The mystery was once again very carefully put together and left me guessing, though I WILL say that a huge element to the solution didn't arrive until it felt a little late in the narrative, which, while probably realistic, did feel a bit like a cheat kind of moment. But having said that, it still worked pretty well and didn't tarnish the story overall. I am also very nervous about where things are going to go for Pip now, as a number of things happened that will, assuredly, lead to some emotional setbacks....

Which makes me all the more excited for the next one in the series!! GOOD GIRL, BAD BLOOD will surely satisfy fans of the first book! I was very pleased with it!
