Albert is different from all the other gorillas. He has huge feet! Poor Albert hates feeling different from everyone else and just wants to be "normal". Everything he tries to play with his friends seems to go wrong with his big feet, until one day when he gets lost in the forest with Rex during a horrible storm. Albert's big feet save the day because his footprints don't get washed away as easily! Rex and Albert were able to find their way out of the forest thanks to Extraordinary Albert and his big feet! After that, Albert realized that maybe being different isn't so bad after all.

Fantastic read for kiddos who are feeling too different and strange compared to others. It shows how differences can be extraordinary and helpful versus problematic!

I was finally able to read this book as our public library just obtained a couple of copies.

This was such a cute book! I love that Albert comes to accept his extraordinary feet and see the value that everyone has seen since he was born.

The illustrations were very detailed and I loved the size of Albert's feet.

First of all this books illustrations are beautiful and detailed. The book tell the story of Albert who has large feet. Though his parents love every part of him Albert dislikes his feet. This book tells that even though you may be different your difference has a purpose.it may not surface right away but it will. I recommend this book for 4-7 year olds.

I enjoyed it but I feel like they could have expanded on this story further. There was just something missing from it.

I loved this story about finding out about our differences and how they can be helps and not always hindrances. The illustrations are pretty great too.

Extraordinary Albert is not fond of his feet. He thinks they just get in the way. Until one day he is playing with his friend Rex and learns to value who is his, feet and all. With delightful pictures to bring this story to life, you see both Albert’s joy in playing with his friend and sadness when his feet disappoint him.

This would be a great book for children to help build self esteem. Make sure to discuss what your child or students dislike about themselves and help them think of ways those things can actually benefit them. Help them find ways to use those things for good or how they can be helpful in some way. Perhaps, have them do a journal entry on it. Remind your child to always look for the good in everything.

This book is a great tool for child to learn how to love themselves. With self esteem a big issue in children we can never have enough books like this one.

My kids and I LOVED this book. It's a great story with an important lesson. It's okay to be different. It's okay to have flaws! The illustrations were great as well!

Extraordinary Albert is a beautifully illustrated children's book about accepting your differences and being the best you can be. Albert's parents love everything about him, even his big feet. Albert doesn't love his feet, they are big, get in his way and he even trips over them when he is playing. When he and his best friend Rex get lost in the jungle, it is Albert's big feet that save the day. After this Albert begins to see his feet are very useful and starts to accept them. This book has a great message, but in order to engage children there needs to be more to the story. Albert and Rex are friends so it would be easy to add more about that friendship. The illustrations are beautiful and relatively realistic. My grandchildren enjoyed the illustrations more than the story. This would be a good book to use in pre-school and kindergarten classrooms dealing with individuality and acceptance.

A sweet story about appreciating what makes you different from others. Albert is a gorilla, born with extraordinarily large feet. His mother and father tell him he's perfect just as he is, but Albert wishes his feet were like the other gorillas' feet- his are always tripping him up and getting in the way. One day, while he's out playing with his best friend Rex, they get caught in a rainstorm. Rex gets scared, and Albert wraps his arms and feet around him and makes his friend feel safe. When the storm is over, they're able to find their way home by following Albert's footprints back, still visible because they were too big for the rain to wash away. Rex tells Albert that Albert is his hero, and finally Albert can see something special about what makes him different. Sweet story, sweet message, and lovely, soft illustrations make this a great story for kiddos!

“Extraordinary Albert” was a beautiful reading. Also is so interesting, for the reason that it has a wonderful meaning.

In this book, we know Albert and his parents. He is so sad, because of his feets. They are so big and he doesn’t like them, he wants to have feets like others, like his friend Rex.

I love the illustration, but I really like the important learning: You are special like you are. I believe that is something that all the people, not only the children want to know.

To sum up, a little story with a special information, it is perfect to all the ages.

Albert is extraordinary loved by his parents. Albert's parents knew at the time of his birth that he was
extraordinary from head to toe. He was born with big feet and his parents wisely saw the positive. Things changed for Albert when he went to school and realized how different he was. He didn't feel extraordinary any more. Until his difference saved the day.

Albert's story is one that kiddos can relate to. They will connect to Albert and all the emotions he has to be accepted! Good read for unique readers.

Albert is extraordinary just the way he is- but he's feeling down about his big feet. Albert learns an important lesson while out playing with his friend. I loved the use of gorillas in this book. It gave it a fun perspective instead of a down and out child. This is a great story to show kids that everyone is special.

I liked the story focuses on that we are all unique and different and that makes us even more special - I read this book with my daughter in bed last night and it just so happens that she has a hospital appointment today for her eyes so it was great timing

Bonnie Grubman wrote the beautifull and loving story about the little gorilla named Albert.
Albert is different. His feet are bigger, way bigger than the feet of all the other gorilla's. Altough his parents tell him that he is perfect, with his feet. Perfect just the way he is. That is not how Albert feels. He sees himself as a burgon to his friends. But luckily his friend Rex shows Albert, that he indeed is perfect, just the way he is.

This lovely story is about being different, but there's more. It's about growing up, about being loved and about friendship. It shows that for the right friends it doesn't really matter that your different. And besides that it shows that everything can be made in an adventage.

This makes this book perfect for kindergarten. The beautifull pictures are amazing, they look so natural but are funny as well. The complete picture makes it a perfect story for children ages 4 and up!

This is book was cute! I loved the concept of your family and best friend loving you for who you are no matter what, and helping you find the strengths in your insecurities.

For a children’s book, I felt like it took a bit too long for me to get to the joy and point of the story. The kids I’ve babysat and have had story time with would’ve lost attention before getting to the part where he finds the best trait of his feet!

Sweet book with wonderful illustrations. Great for all children especially those with disabilities to learn that accepting themselves is where they will find how special they are.
