Another absolutely stunning coloring book from Johanna Basford. Fans of hers will know what to expect, and those new to her art are in for a treat. I will definitely be purchasing this for myself!
This book is just as gorgeous as Johanna Basford previous coloring books, but has definitely become my most favorite. The whimsical, fantastical illustrations are very inspiring and simple enough for a relaxing afternoon just coloring. I definitely helped me find my love for coloring again!
Another wonderful coloring book. I love how magical this one feels. I have been a fan of Johanna Basford since her first coloring book and this one is one of my favorites.
I've always loved the artwork that Johanna Basford has created and Worlds of Wonder is no exception. The artwork is incredibly detailed and fanciful. There is a beautiful mix of reality and fantasy in this coloring book and I love how creative it is. Each page is full of wonder and fantasy that is sure to get your creative juices flowing.
My only issue is that some of the more detailed areas will be harder to color in no matter what type of media you're using.
I am a Johanna Basford fan. Her illustrations are whimsical and intricate, and I really appreciate the small special touches and details. I also appreciate that her designs incorporate negative space and have varying visual flow. The one critical critique that I have not only here, but with adult coloring books in general, is the lack of visual hierarchy. This isn’t such an issue with the images that have a greater amount of negative space, but when it comes to the full page designs, I often find them chaotic to look at. There’s so much going on, and no real place for my eye to rest because the majority of the enclosed spaces are of a similar size. I would like more variation in the positive space. Otherwise, I found this coloring book delightful.
Johanna Basford does it again by delivering another wonderful collection of amazing scenes for us to zen out to. This one takes us out of nature and brings us to a more human created focus, but still staying true to her roots by delivering a soothing collection of images for us to color.
I received a complimentary copy of this title from the publisher through NetGalley. Opinions expressed are my own.
I'm a big fan of Johanna Basford's work and the coloring books she's produced so far. Lost Ocean is my personal favorite.
This one actually seems a little less complex/intricate that previous books. That's not necessarily a problem, but if you're expecting the normal level of detail present in her books, this one isn't it. I'd say this was more of a starter "adult coloring" book or for someone who enjoys it, but not necessarily all the small details.
