Really interesting poems, I don't read a lot of poetry normally, especially lately but this one was very different and interesting.
4 stars. This was a very strong poetry collection with some profound pieces sprinkled throughout. Review to come.
Due to working as a high school teacher, I am often behind on reviews, but here are my initial thoughts.
I received a digital galley from NetGalley in exchange for a fair review. Unfortunately, the writing, like the sentiment the collection reads as, is resigned. Some poems seem to just end mid thought and others seem like they are addressed to a particular individual without the poet inviting the reader in so she could immerse herself in the poem.

I first started this book because i like reading poetry in general. The title of this book really did intrigue me, so i was excited to read this book. It is a collection of poetry about love. I was unable to connect with most of the poetries and it became more of a burden to read more.
Poetry is always a matter of personal taste and context. And even though I loved some poems collection, I did not connect with this one at all. First of all, I prefer poems that are short/that have short verses because it is easier to read them. Here, I just didn’t how to read it, how to give it a sort of rhythm. Second, I didn’t get what the author was trying to convey. Maybe I would have gotten it at another point of my life, who knows. All I can say is that the collection of poems did not work for me today.

@Thanks NetGalley for giving me the access to read these kinds of poems full of love and emotions.
I loved every poem and it thrilled my heart and also my mind. I really love to read such a well written poem dedicated to love and many more. I give 5 stars to One Summer Evening at the Falls written by Peter Campion.
This was a nice poetry from the University of Chicago Press. Campion touches on familiar poetic themes: love, loss, and grief. There was a playfulness to some of the poems' structures, and the collection seemed very cohesive. Overall, I found this accessible and would recommend.
A great personal collection of poems by Peter Campion. His poetry is contemporary, lyrical, realistic and sometimes dramatic. I read this collection in under an hour and really enjoyed it.
Poetry is such a personal medium, a safe place for expression and creation. There are as many different styles and manners of construction as there are poets, and sometimes, as here, they express memory of the past, of seminal material, and should be approached and respected as such.
I really struggled with this collection. It is no exaggeration when I say I did not understand most of the pieces at all! I hate to say it because I was excited for this one.
The three that stood out to me the most were Sitcom Set, 1989, and Call. I understood each of them and some of the lines were quite nice.
Otherwise, I don't really have much else to say about it. It really was probably just me not gelling with the collection. I'm hoping others find this and enjoy it the way it deserves to be enjoyed!
