Super varied recipe book! I loved that it's divided by seasons and therefore seasonal ingredients. I'm definitely trying so many of the recipes soon!
Wow! The recipes in this cookbook are unique and there are photos galore! It made me want to stock my pantry with all the vegan staples so I could try some of these recipes! I'm not a vegan, but have tended away from meat lately, so was interested in this cookbook.
Recipes are organized by season, with each section beginning with a list of produce that's in season at that time. Both sweet and savory flavors abound, and the photos are so enticing! Here are just a few samples of the imaginative recipes included: Portobello Pepper Fajitas, Cauliflower Tacos (these looked so good!), Pumpkin Pie Creme Brulee, and Dark Chocolate Covered Watermelon Bites with Sea Salt. That last one is just so unique!
I've reviewed a lot of cookbooks lately, many focused on plant-based foods. This one definitely takes the prize for two reasons: unique recipes that one wouldn't see elsewhere and the abundance of photos that make you want to try each recipe. Highly recommended.
‘The Plant-Based Cookbook’ is a wonderful, vegetarian cookbook with a huge variety of mouthwatering recipes. The cookbook is divided by season focusing on in-season produce. Also included are appetizing desserts and drinks. Beautiful, vibrant photography accompanies most of the recipes. Overall, a wonderful cookbook!

I've got so many cookbooks and so many recipes saved online, but there are a few here that I will be adding to my collection. Many of the ingredients will already be in your cupboard, or can be easily sourced, or replaced with similar.
This book is broken in sections - the four seasons - and provides not only main dishes for the seasons, but also sweet dishes. So for each season you get 10 main meal recipes and 10 sweet recipes. If you wanted a cookbook for savoury dishes, this may not be the ideal book for you, as you're only getting 40 savoury recipes.
Perhaps I have miscounted, but I can only see 80 recipes although some come with alternatives, so perhaps that's how the 100 has been achieved..
Some good recipes here, and may be helpful for those starting out on a plant based diet, and those who want to eat more seasonal food in an effort to reduce their environmental footprint, and if you want a book that is a 50/50 balance with savoury and sweet, this would be a good buy.
I thought this cookbook was wonderfully written. As a recent vegetarian I found the recipes to be both filling and appatizing. The recipes were also very easy to follow. One of my favouritres was the Chickpea Salad Sandwiches with Quick Pickles.
This is an absolutely beautiful cookbook and would make a wonderful gift for the holiday season. The recipes are separated by seasonal ingredients and are all plant-based. The recipes are unique and spectacular; the photography is stunning. I look forward to trying many recipes, particularly the Crispy Cauliflower BBQ Tacos, Blackberry and Brandy-Soaked Pound Cake Parfaits, Sweet Potato Latkes with Chives, and Chocolate, Ginger and Orange Cupcakes.

I was really impressed with this cookbook. The recipes are broken down into four subsections by season, which makes perfect sense to me, and there are both savory and sweet recipes for each section that make use of the fruits and vegetables that are in season.
There are stunning and delicious-looking photos that accompany nearly every recipe, so I know what to strive for when preparing the recipes. While I know that my food probably won't look nearly as gorgeous as the photos, I am fully expecting the food to taste absolutely delicious, and I'm planning to make quite a few of the recipes in the book.
A good number of the recipes have ingredients that I have on hand in my pantry, or that I can easily find in my local supermarket. However, some of the recipes require items that I can't find as easily, and they would require a trip to a farmers market or specialty supermarket. I'm not sure that I'd be willing to get special ingredients just to use a little bit, so not all of the recipes are feasible.
I loved that there is a little blurb about the recipe before jumping into it, and there are little food facts included about some of the ingredients. All of the allergen information is clearly labeled. Ingredient amounts are listed in both metric and imperial measurements, with Fahrenheit and Celsius temperatures listed as well. I would have liked if the estimated time to prepare the recipes were listed, along with nutritional information, but I guess I can't have everything.
Overall, the book includes a lot of really good recipes. There are a lot of really useful ideas, including desserts, drinks, holiday meals, and things that are definitely going to go over big for gatherings. I can't wait to get started and try out some of these. First one I'm trying is definitely going to be the nog, since it's right in time for the winter holidays!
This is the type of cookbook I have been looking for for awhile in order to go more plant-based. I love how it is divided into seasons. That makes it easy to go to recipes where you can easily find the ingredients in the store. I love how it is plant-based and not necessarily vegan. No recipes laden with tofu, but healthy, nutritious plants, or using almond flour (also plant-based). Several photos throughout, but not very much. More would have been nice. Many basic recipes to make eating plant-based on a busy weeknight simple and nutritious. This is definitely a book for my keeper shelf.
I love this cookbook! The Plant-Based Cookbook by Melissa Petitto is full of delicious and easy to make recipes. In addition to being vegan, each recipe is clearly labeled with a variety of other dietary needs - gluten free, soy free, nut free, and more. There is something tasty for everyone in it. The book is divided into the four seasons to make the most of seasonal produce. It also includes vibrant pictures that will make your mouth water.
The first recipe I made was the crispy baked mac and cheese. It tasted great and the directions were easy to follow. It certainly won't be my last recipe from this book!

I’m a vegetarian since several years now and ate vegan for a few years too. I still try to eat vegan whenever I can so cookbooks are always a good opportunity to find new recipes and discover new vegetables you never tried before.
I really like that this cookbook is decided into seasons and every main chapter starts with things that are currently into season. Buying seasonal and regional is the best thing you can do!
Most of the recipes don’t need any fancy ingredients you’ve never heard before or don’t know where to get, I love that.
I’m a little sad though that some of the receipts don’t have photos (the existing photos look beautiful!) and that there are SO many sweets in there. But maybe it’s only because I do not eat a desert every day. 50% of this book are sweets. Also considering that this book says “for a healthy lifestyle” on the cover. I would have preferred to have a little more savoury dishes, but that’s a personal reference.
What I would have loved would have been added info and suggestions what to eat with some of the dishes, since most of them aren’t a whole meal.
This is a pretty diverse cookbook. I liked how it is set up based on the season as opposed to most cookbooks that are organized by type of dish. I found a few recipes that I'm definitely going to try and it seemed like most of the recipes are pretty simple and could maybe be done in 30 minutes or so.
What a delight. I could not wait to try several of the recipes. The idea of Jackfruit as a alternative protein source was eye opening. The recipes were thoughtful in presentation and for anyone looking to Cary their food approach this is a game changer. I’ve found myself looking back in wonder at the freshness and light of these dishes. And the meals did not repeat on you throughout the day. Happy cooking
I am in love with how the Table of Contents is set up seperated by seasons and then by sweet and savory recipes. Recipes based around what is in season, then split into categories by what you may be craving.
While the burgers on the cover look incredibly unappetizing., once you crack open this book there are so many delicious recipes just calling to be made. Many of them being easy to prepare.
Plant-Based Cookbook by Melissa Petitto is a gorgeous book filled with tempting recipes. It is divided into seasons, which I think is so important because it gives you a chance to use vegetables and fruits that are available and fresh in the current season.
The recipes I will be trying soon, as we are in between the Fall and Winter seasons, are the Fall Bean and Butternut Squash Minestrone, the Baked Apple Cider Donuts, and the Brussels Sprout, Apple, Turnip and Mandarin Slaw, There are many other tempting recipes for every season.
Each section includes a list of in-season vegetables and fruits. This book is all about using fresh, available, in-season fruits and vegetables to create delicious, plant-based meals. The photos are gorgeous and plentiful. The recipes are detailed and helpful. I recommend this book to anyone who follows a plant-based way of eating, plus anyone who wants to add more fruits and vegetables to their diet.

A gorgeous collection to add to your kitchen library. This collection of plant based meals is divided into seasons. Mouth watering recipes coupled with gorgeous photography make this a must have for those who are eating a plant based diet or for those that would like to add more fruits and veg to their diet.
OMG! For most, the seasonal divide with the plant based cookbook is perfect to match your seasonal cook needs! I thoroughly enjoyed that thoughtful process. The ratio of photos to recipes is PERFECT! I love seeing cooked food which motivates me to pick my recipes. And boy did this ever motive me to cook! Easy to follow directions for everyone and mouth drooling photos, it was hard to pick what to cook first!
A lovely plant-based cookbook with delicious seasonal recipes! I liked that at the start of each season the book has a page with the fruits and vegetables in season ready for your shopping list. The photos will make your mouth water with all their vibrant colours! Recommended for anyone that wants to eat more plants and less meat!

Yeah me too. Plant-based cookbook came into my life at exactly the time I needed it. We love to cook but have been lacking inspiration lately. This book is separated by season and then sweet or savory so it's easy to find a recipe to satisfy all of your cravings!
This book is vegan with some twists on classic recipes (the beet and mushroom burgers have become a staple in our house) and some new ideas all together. If you're feeling like you need some plant based inspo, this ones for you!
