Aftermath was an amazing read! It started off so intensely and kept my attention throughout. I loved the premise and characters. The romance was great and I liked how they were friends growing up.

The storyline felt a little too real and like it could have been written about actual events... which was eery. I slightly guessed who was behind the events, but still enjoyed reading to find out what really happened.

The ending was a bit rushed and the only thing disappointing to me. I wish it would have been a little bit more detailed and less rushed.

All in all, Aftermath was a really good read and one I could hardly put down. Fans of clean suspense will probably enjoy this one.

Terri Blackstock wrote one of my favorite suspense series of all time, and so I was a little hesitant going into this. High expectations can sometimes lead to disappointment. But, Blackstock was again amazing with her story telling, suspensefulness, and pacing of this story. Highly recommend.

I received a complimentary copy of this book and was not required to write a favorable review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

The AFTERMATH of an explosion at a concert leave police scrambling to find the bomber. A tip leads them to the owner of a security firm with a military background. He has been set up but by who and why?

There are multiple story threads running through Terri Blackstock's latest thriller. One of the survivors is suffereing from guilt, two of her friends died in the explosion. The police have their man, only he says he's innocent and his lawyer is working quickly to keep her client....and friend...from being convicted of a crime he didn't commit. Blackstock manages to juggle the stories while still keeping the focus on the mystery of why the concert was bombed in the first place. A good story all around.

I really enjoyed this book and found it hard to just a chapter (or 3 for that matter) at a time. I found myself binge reading- which after reading 4 of Terri's books already, you'd think I'd known that I'd have to do that by now. If you're thinking about reading this book- just do it! You won't regret it!

I can always count on Terri Blackstock to deliver a good clean and intense book. You will be sitting on the edge of your seat as the suspense leaves you hanging. The characters are well developed and the relationships are plausible and well played. Lots of major issues are part of the narrative, including mental health, death, grief, etc. While a Christian romance, it is not over the top or syrupy sweet. A well written clean book that was a pleasure to read.

Fast paced, edge of your seat book by a fantastic author.

You won't want to miss this book. Who placed the bomb in the trunk of his car? Wasn't him, but someone wants him to take the fall. Can his old friend find out before it's to late?

A good read, although a bit predictable. That being said, there are some great twists and turns that make reading it worthwhile.

Thank you, Netgalley and the author, for the opportunity to read and review an advanced reader's copy of this book. This in no way affects my review, all opinions are my own.

I should have known--Terri Blackstock never disappoints! She is an author who belongs on every Christian fiction reader's list of books to read. In this story, we know that a crime occurs, that Dustin is wrongly accused of the crime, that Taylor in her mentally unstable state which, understandably (!), gets worse as the story progresses has seen something that seems unrelated and trivial but may be the key to unmasking the real culprit, and that Jamie, Dustin's lawyer, is his childhood friend. So, this story is all about putting together the snippets and clues dropped throughout the book to unmask those who are responsible for the bombing and framing Dustin. The story is fast-paced as usual and once again, Terri Blackstock was able to intertwine her story with God and prayer without faith being the main focus of the book, which makes this novel a book that non-Christian readers can enjoy as much as Christian readers. Love it!!

Aftermath by Terri Blackstock has the perfect amount of clues that are revealed at just the right time to make this high-tension, suspenseful mystery a big success. The different points of view were easy to follow and added extra depth to the story. I appreciate how the idea of using faith in trying situations was depicted. This was a real winner for me.

A girl at a concert. An explosion. A man caught in the crossfire. An attorney ready to fight. Aftermath opens with a bang (literally) and is non-stop until the very end!

When a bomb explodes at the concert Taylor and her best friends are attending, her fight-or-flight kicks in, and she runs without looking back. Guilt-ridden and full of shock, Taylor’s already fragile mental state crumbles as she becomes obsessed with uncovering the truth of this horrific attack. She wants justice for her friends' lives, but is the right man being accused of the crime?

Dustin Webb has nothing to hide, or so he thought. After getting pulled over, he is just as stunned as the police when they open his trunk and find boxes of explosives. How did they get in there? What is going to happen to him? Who can prove his innocence? Swallowing his pride, Dustin calls the only person he knows will be able to get him out of this mess, Jamie Powell, his childhood best friend and a criminal attorney willing to fight tooth and nail for what is right.

Surprised to hear from Dustin after years of radio silence, Jamie agrees to help him, believing him to be the man she once knew; but what if her conscience is leading her astray? Battling her own reservations, Jamie can’t help but remind herself that Dustin is more like a stranger after being apart for so long. Can she truly trust him, or was his aunt right about him all along?

Aftermath was a thrilling book from start to finish! With action, mystery, suspense, and a Christian theme throughout, the story captivated my attention and jeered me to find out what would happen next. Full of twists and turns, this was my first and definitely not the last novel I read by Terri Blackstock! Gripped from the opening line, I was pleasantly surprised at the quality and excitement the plot exuded.

We all long to be seen as good people, so when our integrity is put to the test, we can often turn against God, asking Him “why?” when we should be asking “why not?”! Beyond our own understandings, God has a way of bringing us back to the very place He has called us to be; however, sometimes, it’s through the unlikeliest and most uncomfortable circumstances that we find His love and see His glory shine through!

If you enjoy a good thriller, Aftermath is the book for you!

“She was a gift he hadn't let himself ask for. But God was good and provided what he needed.” ~ Terri Blackstock

MY THOUGHTS ON THIS BOOK

When Dustin was pulled over and explosives were found in his car, he knew he was in trouble. Time to call his old friend he hadn’t talked to in years. Jamie was surprised to hear from Dustin but she was determined to get him put of trouble and see him through this ordeal that was caused by someone else and Dustin was getting the blame.

Wow! This is one book I plan to read again and very soon. I have loved Terri Blackstock for many years and have read most of her books. And I think Aftermath is the best of hers so far. With characters that feel they are popping right off the pages as they develop to their max as the story unfolds. Jamie and Dustin work endlessly to try and find the real killers from the explosion but it is a very intense job. Will they ever really find the answers? Blackstock writes an exceptionally awesome story for her readers, that kept me on the edge of my seat the entire time I was reading this one. Join Ms. Blackstock in the heart wrenching adventure that will stay with you for a long time.

It was a great court room thriller. And it also touches on themes of vengeance and forgiveness. I read the book multiple times over the year.

This book was gripping in that it could have been ripped from some recent headlines (or at least fears), and it took you inside to experience it as if you were there. The juxtaposition of Taylor's experience as a survivor of the bombing and Justin and Jamie who are trying to solve the mystery and clear Justin's name kept the story interesting and moved it along at the typical fast pace for a Terri Blackstock novel.

I thought the story lagged just a little in the middle, but that could just be because once I'm interested I just need to see how it ends! And that was definitely true with this book. Lately I have enjoyed series more than individual books, but this one was as usual, a good read. Can't wait to see what she comes up with next!

If ever you wanted a prime example as to why Terri Blackstock is such a popular name in Christian suspense, Aftermath is truly a prime example. The story quite literally starts off with a bang, and doesn't let up right through to the end! The characters are written so well that you cannot help but to be drawn into their lives, and as more and more twists are revealed... well, without giving anything away, let's just say that this is certainly one that will absolutely keep you guessing and wondering who you can trust! There was a bit of romance, and while I admit that the romance fan in me actually would have loved to have seen a lot more of it, it was actually quite subtle... which is a plus for those who enjoy some suspense without it! Overall, this was a fantastic read and one that fans of Christian suspense are sure to want to add to their TBR!

I was immediately drawn into Aftermath by Terri Blackstock. It started off quickly with a deadly explosion and an arrest of our main character. I was sure this was shaping up to be a 5 star read. Unfortunately, I feel like the person who was behind the explosion, as well as their motive, was pretty obvious from the beginning. I was hoping I was wrong and just being led off track, but that wasn’t the case. There was a secondary character who did add to the suspense, which helped the story and I did like the main characters. If you’re in the mood for a quick suspense read that is somewhat predictable, this may be the story for you!

Aftermath
By Terri Blackstock

It was a concert for a political rally that suddenly turned deadly. Guilt, accusations, and possible motive grip the media and into this fray an innocent man finds himself being framed for something he didn't do. With no one else he can trust he turns to the only person who has always believed in him - but is Jamie Powell up for the chaos that is about to come her way? Can she prove that Dustin Webb is as innocent as she knows him to be?

Aftermath deals with everything that happens after an explosion that destroys the lives of so many. A survivor dealing with the feelings of losing her friends. A business partner whose partner is charged with a crime while dealing with his own personal crisis. An attorney facing the biggest case of her career.

Aftermath takes the reader into the minds of several of the main character letting them see the world through their eyes, their feelings as they try to move on and reclaim their shattered lives. The action is intense and remains so throughout. The characters are well developed and one can easily connect with each of them on their own level and from where they are coming from. If you want to experience a range of emotions in your reading Terri Blackstone offers just such an experience. Aftermath is explosive and you don't want to miss it!

I was provided a complimentary copy of this book with no expectations but that I offer my honest opinion - All thoughts expressed are my own.

What a wild ride this book was! Terri Blackstock has it right out of the ballpark again.

This story starts out at a campaign rally with three best friends only attending to see their fave music band but an explosion occurs leaving one of the best friends being one of the surviving attendees.

Dustin had been falsely accused of the heinous crimes and he calls an old best friend from childhood, Jamie, who is now a lawyer to help him out. This book is mainly about them. Jamie works really hard to prove that Dustin was innocent. We also get a perspective from Dustin’s best friend/co-business owner Travis who is frequently at the hospital because his wife is dying from cancer. His story took a surprising turn. And we get an perspective from Taylor, one of the bombing survivors who lost her 2 best friends. She wants to find justice for her friends and the other victims and drives herself crazy over this while battling a severe case of OCD.

The characters were great and relatable. Dustin & Jamie both grow in their walk with God and depend on Him throughout this book. Also I liked their relationship.

So many twists and turns that I did not see coming! The real perpetrators motives for the bombing was heartbreaking but they still have to the face the consequences of their actions.

I totally recommend this one!
