Super cute! will be recommending to my cousins who have little ones. I think this has enough humor for the adult to enjoy reading it aloud. The art is cute and I love good christmas-y vibe to kids art (cant go wrong) Would recommend.
This is the cutest Gingerbread tale!! Everyone should read it to their class!! It has motions throughout it so your kiddos can get up and move while you read it!!!
I received a digital ARC from NetGalley via Victory Editing. More like 2.5 stars for this holiday picture book. The rhymes just didn’t flow and the artwork was reminiscent of clip art. My son enjoyed the holiday vibes, but there wasn’t any overall message or memorable aspects of the story.
This book will make kids laugh! It might also make them want to make a Gingerbread Man and House! This Gingerbread Man has some dancing skill and the kids might ask you to perform a little if you are willing! It will definitely keep their attention through the last page. Great colors and illustrations.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from NetGalley on behalf of the Publisher and was under no obligation to post a favorable review.
I really liked the story, it's funny and it rhymes! Children will love it.
The font could be improved.
I read this to my 7yo tonight before bed. It was a nice Christmas story about The Gingerbread Man and his house. This would be a great story to read before you built a Gingerbread House. It may make the kids excited to build the house and not just about tasting the icing. :-)
I read The Nutcracker and The Night Before Christmas in some form every year. I absolutely love the imagination and the fun. I think I may have to add a new one to the pile...
It's fun, it's lyrical and I'm positive my grandbabies are going to love it. Looks like I'm buying them each an extra gift this year 🤣🤣
I am always on the lookout for quality childrens books. If you have young ones this book is fun, lyrical and a definite recommend. Thank you to NetGalley for the gifted E-Book in exchange for an honest review. All opinions expressed herein are mine and mine alone.
A funny holiday story that will keep your kiddo giggling, The Gingerbread House is a great read for all ages during this holiday season! The overall message of the book is perfect for reading during this crazy time we're living in & is sure to bring lots of joy!
I LOVED the illustrations like on the cover, but at times felt like the look was not cohesive, and done in a different style? Threw me off a bit as I was reading to them, as if the pages weren't done - the main reason for my 4 star rating.
The Gingerbread House is an adorable and whimsical book about building a Gingerbread Man his own house. It's written in rhyme, which makes it really fun to read. The illustration and font styles don't always match, which is a little distracting. Overall, a very fun addition to the plethora of children's Christmas picture books!
Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for providing this ARC.
This little Christmas book is trying to hard. The gingerbread man is dabbing? Seriously? And the first letter of each page is too ornate a font, it's hard to read. Children's books should be quick and easy and seamless. It was short and that was great. I liked how colorful the illustrations were.
The Gingerbread House is a picture book story about a gingerbread man who needs a gingerbread house to stay in. The story is told through rhyme, which I didn't enjoy. The rhyming couplets didn't always have a nice flow to them and felt a little clunky to read aloud. Some of the rhymes didn't make much sense and it felt like the story was hindered by the necessity to use random words just because they fit the rhyme. However, the illustrations are engaging and festive, and I can see families enjoying this picture book.
The holiday season is upon us, which we all look forward to. Christmastime is special for all of us, a time when we can enjoy the beauty of decorations and the jolly spirit, but still this period is especially important for the little ones. This is something they experience in a much more intense way than us adults, something they look forward to all year and something that brings real magic into their daily lives.
What amazes me every year is the fantastic selection of children's literature, which allows us to spend time together with our little ones, a time when we can relax and enjoy the uniqueness of this holiday.
The Gingerbread House is a nice Christmas-themed picture book that celebrates the beauty and spirit of this festive season. The front page is absolutely gorgeous, and that's what drew us to the story book right away. The rhyming verses are quite simple, I guess it is intended for the youngest readers, and in a possible interesting way it conveys the spirit of Christmas, especially the story about a gingerbread man, that is not the usual one that we know. Not only does it abound with elements that beautifully reflect this holiday, but it also describes in a very interesting way the way the house is made, what can be used for decoration. The illustrations are absolutely wonderful and without words they tell the story in their own way. Definitely one of the best illustrations I've seen lately.
Definitely a nice addition to the Christmas collection of story books that will delight the youngest one. Similar to the traditional Gingerbread man story, yet more festive and different in a way.
This is a cute book. I know this is meant for kids, but I have a little problem with this book. I just don' t like the pictures in it. If you take a pictures as stand alone they okey. But as a book they just don't work. They are all different. 🥺
Only 2 stars.
A decently cute Christmas book for really young children. The idea is good but the implementation is shoddy. I tried my best to see it as the right book to create Christmas Spirit in my heart. But honestly, all it created in me was irritation at the Gingerbread man's character. Also, the line "you can eat me now" was too much! I didn't care much for the rhymes too because they seemed forced in some instances. The natural rhythmic flow that is necessary in children's rhymes is missing. There's no moral in the book, just in case you were looking for one.
The illustrations are average. They could have been much better on some pages where they just seemed like random copy-pasted images thrown on a page.
So yes, mainly for 2-4 year olds.
This is a fun addition to our holiday book collection! We enjoyed the amusing rhymes and festive illustrations. This is a jazzier gingerbread tale; the gingerbread man in this version dies the moonwalk and the chicken dance. Very entertaining! I know it will be reread often this holiday season.
An absolutely adorable Christmas book that children will love.
I can easily see this book becoming a part of many family's Christmas traditions. Parents will read this book to their little ones at bedtime to get them into the holiday spirit.
The illustrations are fabulous. The page that shows the gingerbread man dabbing actually made me laugh out loud and children are bound to love the illustrations.
I have to rate this book as 5 OUT OF 5 STARS ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ because I truly believe this book embodies the Christmas spirit and will bring smiles to children and adults alike.
I will be purchasing copies of this book for a few families this year.

The Gingerbread House is a Christmas picture book about a gingerbread man who comes to life. Sound familiar? Well this isn't that typical gingerbread man story. In this one, the gingerbread offers to stay instead of running away but only if a someone builds him a nice gingerbread house. This means lots of candy decorations and icing.
This was a cute little story with lots of colorful illustrations. My 6 year old enjoyed listening to it and now wants to make some gingerbread men. Maybe after Thanksgiving, kiddo. ;)
A children’s book filled with festive fun and all things Christmas.
Gorgeous illustrations and a sweet story about a gingerbread man. Can’t wait to share this with my young nephew.
Hi, today I bring you a short review of a children's book that I read with my 3 year old niece.
This is a special book for this Christmas season and you can read it with the little ones because it has some very nice illustrations and that calls them a lot because although the dialogues are not at all long, I think the images help them understand the reading better. At least with my niece it happened that way and we laughed a lot while I was reading to her and looking at the illustrations.
Thank you so much to the Author and NetGalley for the ARC, I’m freely give my honest review.
Until the next book :)
I loved this book! This is my first Christmas-y book of the season and I really enjoyed it. I liked the rhymes ok, but what I enjoyed the most was the story. The gingerbread man needs a home! so cute
