Indigo-Daisy-Violet-Amber Hasluck-Royce-Jones-Bombberg - That name says it all.

Heiress on Fire is a hilarious tale that will take you on a ride you'll never forget. It's extremely fast-paced, so don't expect time to catch your breath.

Every time I hear the word 'Happy Meal' I'll think of Indigo-Daisy-Violet-Amber Hasluck-Royce-Jones-Bombberg. And I will never be able to look at a Violet Crumble the same ever again.

I must admit, I was prepared not to like this book, because the main character sounded very unlikeable - a spoiled heiress with too much money and a propensity to fall into unlikely situations. But happily, I ended up really enjoying not only the story but all the characters including our heroine.
Heiress on Fire is set in Sydney, and after a terrible fire that claims the life of her husband (and an escort), Indigo finds herself caught in a web of intrigue and crime.
In what might be a stroke of genius, Indigo is pretty smart but also a little slow on the uptake. There were times I was screaming at the page for her to connect some clues but instead of being frustrated by this I, the reader, was slightly chuffed that I was figuring things out before the main character. The fact that her personal assistant Esmerelda was usually two steps ahead didn’t matter.
I loved the Aussie locations and the plot drags us across town from the well-heeled suburbs to the less salubrious ones, with plenty of champagne along the way. There’s cops, a brothel, organised crime, bikies, murder and mayhem and I loved the cracking pace as our characters figured out what was going on, sometimes floundering but ultimately cracking the case.
This is a supremely fun book, and though parallels have been drawn with Stephanie Plum I actually see Indigo as a slightly less witty modern Miss Fisher.
Highly recommended and I can’t wait to see what McCourt writes next.

Heiress Indigo is in trouble with the police after she admits accidentally killing her plastic surgeon husband and another guest during a cocktail party at their Sydney penthouse.
After the police reveal there was a bomb, Indigo – who has a tendency to faint - starts investigating to clear her name. This takes her and her new sidekick, personal assistant Esmerelda who has had her own run-ins with the law, into the world of escorts, bikies and illicit schemes.
This debut novel is one hilarious madcap adventure. Perhaps a bit too madcap for me. One for Stephanie Plum fans.

I loved this book! It was a wild ride, full of fun characters and hilarious situations. It was a little ridiculous but so much fun that I didn’t care. The pace was great. Highly recommend fir fans of Sophie Kinsella and Janet Evanovich!

With thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for a digital arc of this book, all opinions expressed here are my own.

Heiress on Fire by Kellie McCourt is an entertaining read that would be perfect for fans of Janet Evanovich’s Stephanie Plum series.

Indigo accidentally blows up her penthouse, complete with her “bran muffin” husband inside. What follows is a quest for innocence featuring: a well connected grandmother, a former model mother, a hot police detective, sex workers (not prostitutes), Bob the Builder (from a motorcycle gang, not the cartoon), illegal plastic surgeries, an undead family complete with a hot but shady brother in law and a probably criminal personal shopper/assistant called Esmerelda.

Honestly Esmerelda was probably my favourite character amongst this cast of crazies. This was a fun, easy three star read.

So this was a fun story!

Indigo, an heiress, accidentally blows up her husband and when she crawls out of her wallowing she discovers she is now known as "The Heiress on Fire", her mother has hired her a personal assistant, a (former?) criminal, and she's now a suspect in her husband's murder, along with a guest from the party.

Indigo's life continues to unravel as the plain and boring husband she thought she knew becomes a whole lot more interesting.

Indigo and Esmeralda (the ex-convict PA who is extremely useful), decide the only way to get to the bottom of the mystery and prove her innocence, is to solve it themselves, along with a great cast of supporting characters, and this is where the hilarity begins.

I enjoyed this story so much. It was a funny, mad-cap, amateur sleuth, adventure story.

If you are looking for a fun read, with a little bit of mystery, this one is for you.

Thank you to Netgalley for the opportunity to review this one.

Thank you to NetGalley, the author and the publisher for allowing me to read a copy of this book.

Indigo is a heiress, married to a top reconstructive surgeon, Dr Richard Bomburg. After throwing a dinner party in which two people, including Dr Bomburg, die from a fire and an explosion, Indigo finds herself as the main suspect.

The book follows Indigo's journey to prove her innocence, and find the real murderer.

I enjoyed this book! The humour was right up my alley, dripping with sarcasm. The author, Kellie McCourt, certainly knows her high end products, and the accuracy of the descriptions made for entertaining reading. I loved Esmerelda's character, and I think she was the hero of the book. I found scenes without her in it a bit disappointing, because I felt she just added so much to the story.

Some of the scenes were over-described, and there were repetitive parts within the story. That being said, Kellie McCourt has done an excellent job with the characters, and has managed to make the main character (despite being a spoiled heiress), and a personal assistant criminal quite likeable.

I appreciated the wrap up at the end of the book, and the addressing of many questions left unanswered. I would read another book by this author, and I would definitely read another book in this series.

This was extremely entertaining story, with no hesitation do I give this all the stars!

After accidentally blowing up her husband, Indigo, and Esmerelda her personal shopper/assistant, embark on so mad-capped adventures in a quest to clear Indigos name as the police suspect her of murder...

This book is written with great humour and I especially love Indigo’s internal monologues! The main characters are all rather amusing each with their own quirks.

Thank you to Netgalley and Harlequin Australia for kindly gifting me this book to read and review, I hope there is more from Kellie McCourt in the future as she can certainly write one hell of a good book!

*3.5stars*
This was an enjoyable fun book, not to be taken too seriously and sometimes, these are just the books needed at certain times.
Billion dollar heiress, Indigo has ‘accidently’ killed her husband and a guest at their Cocktail Party. The police have her as a suspect but with her new PA Esmeralda who has a dubious background, they try to find out what really happened.
This remindered me of the Stephanie Plum series which I must admit, I loved but have lost interest in the past years, featuring quirky characters that get themselves in sticky situations. This was a light read that eluded to a second in a series. It held my interest enough to be tempted to read the next.
Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for a copy to read.

Indigo-Daisy-Violet-Amber Hasluck-Royce-Jones-Bombberg is a billionaire heiress, married to pre-eminent plastic surgeon, Richard Bombberg. When Richard and a mysterious woman die in a fire accidentally started by Indigo during a dinner party hosted at their luxurious penthouse, and police discover an explosive device in the remains, the police suspect Indigo of foul play.

Indigo’s supermodel mother hires Esmerelda, a recent graduate of the prison model program, as Indigo’s personal assistant. What ensues is an amusing series of events as Esmerelda helps Indigo to prove her innocence.

I found this to be such an easy read, which was exactly what I needed during this busy Christmas period. The situations in which Indigo and Esmerelda found themselves were entertaining. My only wish is that they were a little further developed, but overall it was a really enjoyable read!

Heiress Indigo-Daisy-Violet-Amber Hasluck-Royce-Jones-Bombberg (*draws breath*) married a man who was supposed to be her boring, reliable "Bran Muffin". But after her clumsiness inadvertently leads to his death in an explosion, she begins to unravel her Bran Muffin's secrets - and must somehow clear her name by venturing out into a world she has been sheltered from.

This was a somewhat amusing romp and I'm rather impressed that McCourt made someone who should have been unlikeable into a main character who I might follow into the sequel. You'll have to suspend disbelief a lot with this book and you really need to be in the mood for a vapid MC in the midst of a vapid plot (there are definitely times for this!). I'm not sure I liked how achingly obvious this book was as a setup for a series. It felt a little unfinished because of that. But I am like a moth to the Heiress on Fire and will probably pick up a sequel if there is one.

Thank you Netgalley and Harlequin Australia for an electronic ARC of this book.

It's an easy funny entertaining read about Indigo, a wife of famous Sydney plastic surgeon, Richard. Indigo left being a suspect of the explosion at her own penthouse which killed Richard and one of their guest, Crystal. This incident made Indigo stepped into a new crazy funny adventure with her new personal assistant, Esmeralda. These two characters got me to have a few too many chuckles. Definitely a new read of hilarious crime fiction to be added into your list.
