Especially in today's world, this is a great book that gives plenty of ideas on how to show kindness to others. With the only reason being to make their day. This book gives helpful hints on how to love others well!!
This was a great book providing so many wonderful ways to do great things for others. The ideas are practical and easy and such a wonderful way to help others
This book is a delight! A small book that packs a practical punch, it is full of things you can do to bring joy to others. With different sections for friends, family, etc. readers can check off these great ways to make someone else smile.
Karen Ehman makes this feel doable without being overwhelming!
Sweet author, cute book, easy read, but jejune examples. If you are stuck in a rut and want to love others better, this book will give you practical examples of how to do so simply, inexpensively, without major inconvenience to yourself or your schedule (which is not what loving others is about!). I would have loved a deeper explanation into our selfish psyches and how we can mentally fight it, as we tangibly love others more than ourselves.

This book had wonderful suggestions on how to make someone's day, or at least make it brighter! I definitely recommend it!
I received an e-ARC from the publisher.
What a fun lil book, a true gem! Simple ways and simple things to bring joy to others lives and ultimately to bless them... to make their day. Truths and ideas I will keep coming back to, in a sweet and easy to read format. Grateful to Netgalley for a digital copy to review.
Make Their Day: 101 Simple, Powerful Ways to Love Others Well by Karen Ehman is an amazing, important book. This book goes far beyond the normal 101 ways to show love books. Here, you will find a resource packed with detailed, creative ideas to show your love is so many segments of your life. I adored reading through this book and I know that it is a book that I will be flipping through repeatedly in years to come. I received a digital copy of this book from the publisher with no obligations. These opinions are entirely my own.
I received an ARC from BethanyHouse Publishers, via NetGalley. This review is my personal opinion.
What an unexpected and lovely book, Karen Ehman did a lovely job with this creative and heartfelt book. Many times we want to either give a gift or many help someone and we don’t have a clue. These practical and easy-to-follow 101 ideas will help you with that, divide it into eight different sections you can see the specific group or moment that adjusts. I like that we have all types of ideas, easy, fun, elaborate, and the most important is that you have the opportunity not only to be a blessing but also to share beautiful moments and create new traditions.
We all could use a pick-me-up every now and then. Ehman gives 101 ways to love someone well in many different categories, across a variety of recipients, and a variety of price ranges (although, most are very reasonable, or free) This book is an excellent guide to out-of-the-box ways to surprise someone and to put a smile on their face, whether it be your spouse, child, neighbor, co-worker, or acquaintance. If you are looking for easy ways to bless someone, look no further.
This book was sent to me as an ARC on NetGalley. However all opinions are of my own.
I’ve been really looking for books related to religion (especially Christianity) & I feel this book was a great starting point. One thing I will point out is that it’s definitely more of a book for Americans with many more days to celebrate than the UK. However, it was a great book. I loved how the concept was around giving back, even when you don’t have to spend a penny. It’s more about the thought of things that go into the gestures. I always loved the quotes from the Bible for each section of the book!
I have to say, this little book has really encouraged me to step out of my rut and to be kind to other people. Ehman does a great job of giving very practical and doable suggestions on how to love the people in your life. I also appreciate that she offers tips for those beyond the inner circle but also the people in your life that care and provide for you such as the grocery staff, pastors, and mail carriers.
There's something simple that we can do to change people's day. A lot of it comes down to noticing them and expressing your gratitude for them being present in your life. This book with 101 ways to love people is just the boost we need in the midst of this very late spring. Ehman doesn't just give ideas, she also provides some copy and print materials in the book to help make it even easier for you to love on all the people in your life.
I received a copy of this book through NetGalley for the purpose of review. I'm never required to say good things but I'm always thankful when I can.
This book had some really great ideas for how to bless and serve other people. For someone who is not creative, this would be invaluable. It's hard to think outside the box when it comes to gifts and blessing others and this does it for you. It's a great little book. If you're looking for ways to bless the world around you I highly recommend it. Thank you to #netgalley and #MakeTheirDay for allowing me to read this title in exchange for an honest review.
This was a fun little book! It was a book of suggestions on how to serve others, and included a bunch of printables/recipes to supplement the ideas. Many of the ideas are pretty cheesy, very churchish (a jello mold with celery and carrots /is/ suggested), and involves buying things from the dollar store for people, but overall it was a nice thought and some people might enjoy it.
It was 101 ideas, which makes it a rather short book (I read it in an afternoon), and it's divided up into several sections (along the lines of family, friends, neighbors, church friends, your community, etc), which makes it easy to navigate. Both of these together make it a pretty easy book to read, but not one that I wouldn't personally buy. The tips that are included are not particularly creative, so while it is nice to have a compilation of ideas, the tips can easily be looked up on Pinterest or something of the sort. The cover is very cute though, so it would make a very cute coffee table book if that is what you are going for.
Overall, personally I think the market for these types of books is both saturated, and made obsolete due to the existence of the internet, so I cannot honestly recommend it. This ironically would be a good gift idea for an older lady at church, or your grandma, or something, so if that's what you need, then it would be a good fit for you.
Karen Ehman’s books are always joy-filled, and this book is no exception! As someone who isn’t very creative, this book is an incredible resource for anyone who is looking for ways to be a light in their corner of the world. Not only are there 101 ways to love those around you outlined in this book, but there are also variations laid out along with each method so that even someone lacking creativity can come up with something they’re comfortable doing.
Make Their Day by Karen Ehman is definitely not the typical genre of book to which I gravitate, but I truly appreciate the focus that Ms. Ehman places on being kind to others. From the first few pages of Ms. Ehman's book, I was impressed by the detailed practical ways that she suggests as ways to make a difference in the lives of others. It is so important to realize the impact we are making on the lives of others and not waste the influence and opportunities we have by becoming distracted and busy with the cares of this life. Ms. Ehman consistently encourages us to look for ways to help and show kindness and love to others in Make Their Day. I also appreciate how Ms. Ehman encourages her readers to make kindness a habit. The previous statement seems like something very straightforward and simple, but the living out of it can make a dramatic impact in ones own life and the lives of others.
Another aspect of Ms. Ehman's writings, which I appreciate is her focus on being a light and voice of positivity in the world. Negativity and hate are extremely prevalent in the world, yet each of us can make a difference just by doing simple and consistent things in kindness and love, demonstrating God's love in a sin-darkened world. I appreciate Ms. Ehman's passion for each individual finding specific ways to encourage others. Although I appreciate Ms. Ehman's focus on positivity, kindness, and light, I was somewhat disappointed in this work. I may have had different expectations prior to reading the book, which obscured my appreciation for it. The examples brought forward seemed to be primarily personal examples of the author, were focused on acts that received the attention of others, and honestly were not very unique or original in my experience. I do have to admit that I have many excellent examples of kindness in my life, which may have skewed my appreciation for Ms. Ehman's ideas.
Overall, I think that this work was well written and had a good message. I believe that Ms. Ehman has a great focus and drive to encourage positivity and kindness. I encourage you to pick this work up and see what you think about it!

This is one of my all time favorite books! I read it twice. Definitely will share it with others. Would make a great gift for someone just starting out in the ministry.
