Rain Wilmont has left her stressful job in the city after the death of her husband to take up residence at her family’s waterfront camp. This deal is so sweet, it even comes with a library job. She’s all set to reopen the library her mother used to run when she finds a dead body there. The dead man is a local property developer, whom Rain’s mother, Willow has been seeing. The locals immediately cast Willow as the murderess and it’s up to Rain to prove her mother is innocent by finding the real killer

This is an interesting addition to the cozy mystery genre. Rain returns to her family home, hoping to heal after the loss of her husband.
Upon her arrival, she finds the residents eager for her to open the small library her family owns, but unfortunately, she also finds a dead body, which leads to a whirlwind investigation.
I like the idea of this series, and I’m looking forward to seeing what happens next.

Murder at the Lakeside Library by Holly Danvers was an early release copy from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. Rain Wilmot drives her Ford Explorer filled to the brim with all of her possessions to her family's cabin. The cabin also is a local summer library in Lofty Pines. Rain, Julia and Marge - two neighbors, come across a dead man. After losing her husband, Rain had hoped to find peace and quiet at the cabin. However, there has been one problem after another since she arrived. Rain's mom is in Africa and her dad is in Japan. This story was an interesting read. The author wrote in a way to grab the reader's interest right away. A lot of twists and turns and stolen identities. I'd like to read the next in the series and see what new adventures Rain has.

Rain Wilmont has left her life in Milwaukee behind her and heads to her family cabin on the lake. She’s trying to recover not only from the loss of her husband in an accident, but from his betrayal. Hoping to remove herself from life and just hunker down and try to come to terms with things, she finds that life has a different plan for her when she reestablishes old friendships from her childhood.
The first evening at the cabin a body is found outside her home and Rain soon finds that there are lots of secrets and betrayals in her family, not just the one she is dealing with. Now she has to find out who the man that was murdered on her property is and whether her family is truly who she thought they were.
I had read a book in another series by this author and was not impressed. Then I picked this one up and realized it was the same author, but decided to give it a go. I’m glad I did. This has change my mind and I am a fan of this series. Looking forward to more time with the Lakers.
