Miracles in Wild Rose Bay by Susanne O’Leary is the sixth book in the contemporary romance Sandy Cove series. As with a lot of romance series each book in the Sandy Cove series changes the main characters so each can be read and understood as a standalone if choosing to do so. However, for those following from the beginning there are glimpses of previous characters in each new book of the series, especially with this new addition to the series the new lead is the sister of the lead in book five and she has come to visit.
Tara O’Rourke has been in a rather dead end relationship that seems to be going nowhere with a man who refuses to think of settling down. When Tara is offered a photography job to travel to Ireland and feature the Wild Atlantic Way she jumps at the opportunity to not only take time to reflect on her relationship but to visit her sister in Sandy Cove.
Shortly after Tara arrives in Sandy Cove her flighty boyfriend breaks it off but she refuses to let it get her down and focuses on doing a wonderful job with her photos and story. Tara also stumbles onto an old photograph of her great-grandfather which leads her on a mission to discover more about her family history while she’s in Ireland with the help of her sister and family friend Mick O’Dwyer.
I have been following the Sandy Cove series since it began and have fallen in love with the quaint little town on the Irish coast and the people I meet in each installment. This latest had a bit of mystery with the past Tara was looking to uncover and a lot of the Irish coast. I would say though it could have used a bit more romance between Tara and Mick for those that join the series for the relationships but I didn’t mind too much and left this one at four stars.
I received an advance copy from the publisher via NetGalley.
Susan O’Leary I’d one of my go to authors. She never disappoints. This was a wonderful, beautiful, uplifting, story. I thoroughly enjoyed it and I highly recommend it.
This is book 6 in the Sandy Cove series. Tara O'Rourke is headed to Ireland to write a story for a magazine. She plans to stay with her sister. Kate is against writing the story, she doesn't want the small town over run with tourist who could ruin the fragile environment. Kate's friend, Mick is also against the project and he holds a secret about Kate and Tara's family. A wonderful love story that stands on it's own that does give updates from previous couples. I received a copy of this ARC in exchange for a fair and honest review.
Tara returns to Sandy Cove with plans to take photos and attract visitors. She meets with resistance from her sister and the other residents of Sandy Cove. She falls in love with Mike - who will she choose? Love or career?
Miracles in Wild Rose Bay is the 8th book in Susanne O’Leary’s Sandy
Cove series. Tara O’Rourke is getting quite the reputation for her excellence in photography. When The Wild Vagabond travel magazine contacts Tara to do a piece on the wild coasts of western Ireland she is all in. Her twin sister, Kate, a young doctor, lives in the village of Sandy Cove and has joined the local medical practice there. Plus, her family history says her family came from this area. As excited as Tara is to reunite with Kate, she never expected the pushback received from her twin on the focus of her article. Kate fears such a piece will bring unwanted tourism to their quiet little corner of Cork.
Never terribly interested in history of any kind, it isn’t long until Tara is as captured by family history as Kate is when she discovers the family farm that has been hidden and the real story of how their great grandfather left the family farm and sought his police career in Dublin. In meeting their distant cousin Liam, and in befriending former actor Will O’Dwyer, Tara is able to not only unravel the mystery of the past but tie up a very promising future.
This is a very well written and plotted book with endearing characters and amazing settings. The way the story unfolds is thoughtful and reveals a lovely story of finding your future by seeking your past. I did enjoy this book and I do recommend it!!
Miracles in Wild Rose Bay is the sixth instalment in the lovely Sandy Cove series.
I have followed this series from the start, and I truly enjoyed returning to the Cove and being reacquainted with the characters that we have come to know and love.
This book had me captivated from the start. The setting (as always) was stunning and brought to life beautifully by the author, you could picture yourself walking along the Irish coast which for me really added new depths to this story.
The characters are wonderful and detailed, each having their own personalities and traits that truly helps the flow of the story, and I do love the romantic undercurrents that are there between the leading characters.
I loved this beautiful story and truly look forward to future visits to Sandy Cove.
This was a continuation of a book that I read a couple of months ago. Love the story and characters. This author is very descriptive and has well defined characters. Every word written needs to be there and when you are finished, you will want to book a vacation to this area of Ireland, just to see the scenery. Enjoy!
This is the first novel I have read in this series but I will be going back to read all the others. I really enjoyed this book. The characters seem real and the setting is wonderful, it makes me feel as though I want to live there. Very well written and 5 stars
Thanks to Netgalley and publisher for this ARC
Tara O'Rourke is visiting Sandy Cove from New York City to write an article and take phots of the hidden gem there in Ireland. Wild Rose Bay is a beautiful, nearly hidden location with a lot to offer. An extra bonus is that Tara is staying with her twin Kate, which gives the sisters extra bonding time.
Kate is not too keen on the exposure that Tara's article could create, as it could bring in too many tourists and upset the gentle beauty that the little village offers. Tara soon discovers an even deeper hidden gem that lends itself to the twins family background. Meanwhile, she meets Kate's friend, Mick O'Dwyer. Despite Kate and Mick's concern about Tara's intentions, she soon embarks on an adventure that will affect her life in ways she could not have expected.
An old farmhouse, one is great need of repair, soon becomes a big distraction in Tara's plans, but at the same time brings her closer to Mick, and ultimately Kate. There is one other player in this unfolding drama, and Tara's very future soon becomes tied up with her past.
What a lovely story that brings family history with the beauty that surrounds Tara and the others. I loved reading this gentle telling in this effective series by Susanne O'Leary. While this book certainly could do well as a standalone, the stories are loosely interconnected, which brings great continuity to this gorgeous series. Both the characters and the backdrop of Wild Rose Bay and Sandy Cove are quite lovely. I loved Tara and what she brought to this already enjoyable series. I do look forward to any additional stories set in this beautiful locale.
Many thanks to Bookouture and to NetGalley for this ARC for review. This is my honest opinion.
Lyrical, atmospheric and wonderfully romantic, readers will almost be able to hear the crashing of the waves against the rocks and feel the salt on their lips in Susanne O’Leary’s wonderful descriptive Irish romance, Miracles in Wild Rose Bay.
New York journalist Tara O’Rourke’s latest assignment has taken her all the way to Ireland where she has been sent to take pictures of the Emerald Isle’s majestic landscape for a travel magazine. Having heard of the breath-taking vistas of Wild Rose Bay, Tara cannot wait to visit and put her camera to work, but little does she realise that in this beautiful part of the world, she is going to find far more than just inspiring landscapes and picturesque views…
Staying at her sister Kate’s cottage, Tara quickly begins to make herself at home – even if her sister isn’t best pleased about Kate’s assignment as she does not want tourists from all over the world to come swarming in and ruin Wild Rose Bay’s untouched beauty. However, it isn’t just Kate who is opposed to Tara taking pictures of the bay as even her sister’s friend, Mick O’Dwyer, has made his objections known – and of course, the fact that he is drop dead gorgeous has got absolutely nothing to do with the fact that Tara cannot simply stop herself from constantly thinking about him…
As Mick begins to help her research the area, his local knowledge helps Tara uncover a beautiful tumbledown cottage that could hold the key to uncovering past secrets about Tara’s family. With each passing day, Tara begins to feel as if Wild Rose Bay could be the place she can finally call home, but forced between choosing her career in New York and her heart, will she end up making the right choice? Or is she about to end up losing everything, just when happiness is within reach?
A mesmerizing tale about second chances, impossible choices and new beginnings, Miracles in Wild Rose Bay is an emotional, uplifting and sparkling Irish tale that kept me completely spellbound. Readers will fall in love with Tara and Mick as their romance touches the heart and will leave them with a great big smile on their face. Add a beautifully rendered Irish setting and readers have the perfect book to curl up with on a cold and dismal winter afternoon.
Miracles in Wild Rose Bay (Sandy Cove Book 6) by Susanne O'Leary. I dont usually read Romance books but lately I like taking a break from mysteries and reading one. After reading this I will definitely read her earlier books in this series. I was captivated right from the beginning, I love books set in Ireland and the country does lend itself to romance as well as heartache. The descriptions of the Irish countryside and the sea had me picturing it in my mind, which i always find as a good thing.
I found the characters of Kate and Tara to be wonderful as well as the side characters of Cormac and Mick. I liked how the girls were determined to find out why their great grandpa left Sandy cove and Riverside farm. What a great escape on a snow day curled up with hot cocoa and dreaming far off Ireland. It’s left we wanting to know what happens to them next ...
I requested and received an advance reader copy of this book from Bookouture and Netgalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Tara O'Rourke takes a photography assignment in Ireland and takes the opportunity to stay with her twin sister Kate. Can she uncover the mystery of her family history as well as heal her heart after her on-off relationship finally disintegrates...?
Miracles in Wild Rose Bay is part of the Sandy Cove series by Susanne O'Leary. There are spoilers about relationships established in previous books but I don't believe this would ruin the enjoyment of previous books if you go back to read them.
Tara appeared briefly in the previous book about her sister's arrival in Sandy Cove but is now the main protagonist in this book. She is keen to photograph the local area for her magazine assignment but her sister is concerned that this may have a negative effect if the place becomes overrun with tourists. This leads to conflict between the twins which is further exacerbated when Tara wants to buy the old family farm.
There is a mystery in the twins' family history as their great grandfather left the family farm and never returned. As she investigates the past, Tara has two potential love interests as she also seeks to forget about her American lover who dumps her unceremoniously. I had no idea which of the men she would end up with but felt she made the right choice.
Miracles in Wild Rose Bay is a gentle and warm romance novel set in the vividly described beauty of Ireland. The pace is calm and the plot unfolds against the backdrop of the rich setting.
This is a really homey novel that touches on the complexities of family relationships.
Tara and Kate are twins born in Ireland and have drifted apart. Tara is a successful photographer who lives in NYC and travels to Ireland to visit her sister Kate who is a doctor in a small Irish town.
Kate is living with her partner and Tara decides to take a break from Joe, who is also in the photography and publishing business. The story touches on how their relationships differ and how they both have that twin understanding of what each other is going through.
Tara stumbles upon an old farm to which she believes she has family connections and at the same time runs into the owner, a distant cousin.
Family ties are tested, but I so enjoyed this cozy novel. I hope you will, too!
Thanks to NetGalley and Goodreads for an ARC of this novel.
When Tara, a travel journalist in New York, is sent to Ireland on an assignment to take pictures for a travel magazine she is delighted as it means she can stay in Sandy Cove with her twin sister Kate and it is the perfect setting for her pictures. Kate is not so sure though....... does Sandy Cove really want to be on the American tourist map! When Tara arrives though she is soon drawn into the Irish community and will the secrets of her family found in the tumbledown farmhouse and the handsome Mick make her reconsider her options?
I love this series of books and it is great to be back in Sandy Cove, another lovely easy read book that draws you in from the first page and adds some brightness to the day
I haven’t read the previous book but I could read it as a stand-alone even if there are characters from the first book that make appearance here.
The writing and landscape description was so beautiful and real and I could almost see everything with my eyes and feel all those fulfilling emotions when you find peace and a bit of happiness in a beautiful place.
The story is based on Tara’s new assignment of being a traveling photographer and editor, a job that brings her back home to Ireland where she discovers some hidden secrets from her ancestors.
It’s a quick read that ends up with a happily ever after and many romantic lovers will enjoy it.

A new start in an old place.
Only a few chapters in I could already tell this was going to be a sweet story about the importance of getting back to your roots. You can take the girl out of Ireland but you can't take Ireland out of the girl.
Intriguing story and I loved that there was a bit of mystery threaded throughout. I was looking forward to finding out the missing pieces and thoroughly enjoyed the beautiful imagery that came to mind while reading this book.
Themes, Elements & Notes: Themes of family history and the desire to get back to your roots. Although some areas thrive on tourism, some places are better left undiscovered off the beaten path by the masses to keep hold of the beauty that nature has to offer.
In a Nutshell: Overall I enjoyed the author's writing style; the story was filled with intrigue and beautiful imagery. I'm excited to have found a new go-to author and I'm looking forward to checking out her other books.
Since I’ve read and reviewed two earlier books in this series, the characters and the area was familiar and it felt like I was returning to catch up on old friends.
With her twin, Kate, happily settled in Sandy Cove, Tara pays a visit as part of an assignment to showcase to an American audience new places to visit in Ireland. What she doesn’t bargain for is getting completely absorbed into her family history. As she visits and feels drawn to an old farmhouse whose history seems deeply entwined with her family’s, Tara is forced to make choices. Will she decide to leave her life in New York and settle in Wild Rose Bay? Will she find love here?
I enjoyed another fine book and in Tara, the author created a character who bases decisions on instincts and emotions, quite in contrast to her more steady twin. Mick’s character too is developed well and the interactions between him and Tara were entertaining.
The author’s description of the area, the sounds of the sea, the smell of the flowers and the sights and views add so much to the reader’s pleasure.
Waiting to read what Susanne is going to write next!
There is something about Ireland that stirs the soul, I don't know if it because I am of Irish descent or just the magic and legends that the place conjures up! The author did a brilliant job of describing the beautiful Irish coast and countryside and makes you want to visit Wild Rose Bay immediately.
Photographer Tara O'Rouke get a new assignment to photograph wild and remote holiday destinations in Ireland. Living in busy New York she grabs the opportunity to go back home to Ireland and visit her twin sister who she misses desperately. The twins have a very strange relationship Tara is very supportive and encouraging of her sister Kate, but Kate doesn't share the same personality. I found her to be spoilt and annoying throughout the book and selfish towards her sister. I must say I haven't read the previous books in the series so I don't know if there is a reason for this, although I didn't come across one in this book.
Whilst Tara spends time in the cove, family secrets start to come to the surface and Tara takes a risk and follows her dreams, however wild her Sister thinks them and sparks up a lovely, sweet friendship with Mick O'Dwyer. This is a book about family, friendships in the least likely places and following your dreams. A lovely sweet read.
Thank you to NetGalley, Bookouture and the author for giving me a ARC version of this book in return for my honest opinion.

Miracles in Wild Rose Bay by Susanne O'Leary is the next installment in this charming series, Sandy Cove Series, about rural Ireland in the present day. This story is about Tara, a professional photographer from New York City whose twin sister, Kate, is one of the doctors in Sandy Cove. They were both from Ireland. Kate stayed. Tara is kind of involved with another photographer, Joe, who pulls back from commitment and she is kind of tired of it so this assignment, which will take her to Ireland for the summer is just what she is looking for. When she gets to her sister's cottage she discover a book full of old photos and finds her gg grandfather, Daniel, who is the ancestor who fled Sandy Cove and landed them all in Dublin. He looks so much like her father and is standing in front of a house, which she is now determined to find. After asking some questions she is given a set of directions that she decides to follow. Once there she begins to explore and is approached by a man who turns out to be the owner. Feeling a little guilty, this accidental run-in leads to a very complicated story.
This is a terrific series of clean love stories which all take place in Sandy Cove. Tara is a city girl and a little out of her depth, at least at first. She could give two hoots about history, but all of a sudden she is all about tracking the history behind her gg grandfather and this house, which is not abandoned. In fact, she comes to blows with her sister over it. She learns a plenty about herself as she explores this dilemma. It is a fun ride through Ireland with plenty of both the past and the present and cameos by people from earlier books weighing in. It is homey and comfortable and a sheer joy to read. All's well that ends well and this story ends well. It is a delight. I recommend it.

4,5 stars rounded to 5
This story made me wish it was summer and it was possible to travel to Kerry and visit the lovely and well described places where the book is set.
This is the third book I read in this series and always loved the light hearted and well written plots.
Each instalment can be read as a standalone even if characters from other novels are featured.
I had fun and thoroughly enjoyed it.
Tara, a photographer and travel journalist, and Kate, a doctor, are two interesting characters: they are strong willed and stubborn, each of them with different life choices and way of living.
Their relationship is not easy and sometimes I felt Kate was trying to impose her vision on Tara and she seems to be a bit too overbearing.
I think this is the main weakness in this book: I love everything but I struggled to understand Kate even if she’s quite a likable character.
Even if it’s a lighthearted story the author deals with some interesting issues like how tourism can change the soul of a place and life choices and dreams.
It’s a compelling and highly entertaining read, I liked the plot and I like how it ended.
I recommend it.
Many thanks to Bookouture and Netgalley for this ARC, all opinions are mine
