The author masterfully weaves these disparate parts into a mystery that keeps you guessing. All the main characters at the County Seat and friends are strong and show admirable care for each other.
Living in Idaho myself, I enjoy seeing it so well portrayed. This fifth book in the Farm-to-Fork mysteries is a welcome addition.

I love the Farm-To-Fork series by Lynn Cahoon and this a fantastic addition! Angie and her friend, Felicia, co-own a restaurant, the County Seat. Angie's boyfriend, Ian, and the group who works at the restaurant are all like a family which adds depth to this cozy mystery. The characters really make this series. In Killer Comfort Food, there is a big fund raiser that Felicia is involved in. One of the organizers goes missing and her husband is acting suspicious. Plus Angie doesn't like him. One of the restaurant 's chefs is being harassed. On top of that, a soybean company wants Angie's and her neighbor's land. Angie's land was her grandparents and she doesn't want to sell which creates problems. There is a lot going on to keep Angie and her friends busy! The only oddity is that Angie's boyfriend stays overnight in her guest room. Really? There doesn't need to be much detail but that is archaic. I liked the ending. I suspected the culprit but wasn't sure until the end. I liked that Angie and her friends didn't take unnecessary risks. Another satisfying visit to River Vista and the County Seat restaurant. Angie and her "family" find themselves caught up in another mystery filled with missing persons, bad guys and good food. I liked that Angie and Felicia had managed to surround themselves with good people and make a warm, inviting atmosphere for their friends. There were so many references to their "family" though that at times it seemed a little too sweet. The mystery was very good, though, and I will continue to read this series.

Another terrific visit to the farm-to-fork restaurant and its delightful cast of characters. Small town living with its finest qualities. Neighbor helping neighbor. A surprise or two. I look forward to reading the next one in this charming series or even something else by this author. Appreciate the cleanness in the romance department. Enjoyable critters, too.

Killer Comfort Food" the 5th instalment in the Farm to Fork Mystery series by Lynn Cahoon. I really enjoyed this story, and I love Angies Zoo as she calls them Dom the Saint Bernard, Precious the goat and Mabel the hen. One thing I enjoy with this series is the sense of family even if not blood, we choose who are family is by the people we trust and have in our lives. Angie has surrounded herself with a good group of people, Ian was such a calming presence for her.

The mystery is interesting and well plotted. I kept guessing and second-guessing myself on whodunnit right to the very end. I can’t wait for book 6 and find out what’s in store with Angie and her friends.

I recommend this book to all my cozy lover friends.

This is a fun well crafted series with great charcters .

We return to our favorite protagnist. Angie is up against big agriculture in this next in series. A large agricultural corporation wants to build on the land next to her farm. Angie is feeling pressured to move but she has her animals to consider and her farmhouse that she inherited and loves that was her Grandmother's. . The attorney handling the sale is under heavy suspicion for his missing wife. When Angie's friend revels a connection to the wife and ask Angie to investigate, Angie does not hesitate to become involved. As she digs into the corporation and the attorney she finds shady dealings and secrets that may put a end to the entire project. When a body is found and her neighbors get scared and start selling off their properties, Angie knows she must find a way to stop the project and solve the mystery.

I loved this next in series. Angie is savvy smart and does not suffer fools. She is a good investigator and has good friends . This is my favorite book in the series. Very well done to the author.

I think my favourite character in the cozy mystery was Ian. He is just that guy, there is just nothing he won't do for the people he cares for. He really goes out of his way to help and take care of Angie. It feels like she takes him just a little for granted. And then the people around Angie are very special as well, All in all a very strong and supportive community.

However, the story itself really didn't resonate with me. Perhaps because I haven't read the previous novels, I'm not sure. The whole storyline just all felt a bit of a stretch. A little extremed. I'm sure those who are already connected with the series will feel a little different.

As if building a successful restaurant business isn't stressful enough, finding time for romance keeps Angie' (and Ian) & Felicia' (and Estebe) juggling their time. This is the 4th or 5th in this series. This really cannot be read as a stand alone. Well enough written. Just not for me.

Chef Angie Turner has her hands full with all sorts of problems. Her friend Barb wants her to help find her missing daughter, a company wants her home/land and they seem to stop at nothing, a employee's ex is in town and causing trouble and then there is the missing woman's creepy husband. Also, there was a dead body found in the park. There do not seem to be any clues on what is going on but Angie feels some if not all of these things are related. Angie then finds herself in danger and wonders if she should just give up..

There is a lot going on in this story involving a number of characters. This keeps the pace going quickly and gives the reader a lot to try and figure out. Thanks to Lyrical Underground and NetGalley for an ARC. The opinions expressed are my own.

I usually like the books in this series but for some reason I just didn’t connect with this one. I think it just felt too unrealistic.

Angie doesn't want to sell her grandmother's farm to the soybean processing plant- not only does she like it, she also has a St Bernard, a goat, and a chicken to take care of. Her restaurant. the County Seat, is a steadying place as those around town debate the benefits of big ag- jobs versus farming. The wife of the attorney who is doing the negotiating goes missing and, much to Angie's surprise, she's the daughter of Barb, who owns the bar. Of course, Angie goes looking for her and, of course, there's a Jane Doe corpse. How do these two women intersect? No spoilers from me but fans of the series will be pleased to be back with Angie, Felicia, Ian, and so on. It will be fine as a standalone. Not too twisty but there's some nice red herrings. Thanks to Netgalley for the ARC. A good cozy read.

This book is tying together some loose ends from previous books, including the fate of Angie’s farm. Not clear on where the Angie-Ian relationship is going because he’s really into his faith and being judgemental in this book and it’s pretty clear Angie isn’t going in that direction. Killer Comfort Food has some good series developments but Angie’s waffling on helping Barb was strange (how many mysteries has she solved after stumbling into things, and here when she’s asked to find Susan, it’s a no-go?). It works well in the context of the series but not as well as a standalone, and some of the behaviour and reactions seemed clunky.

Such a great read. I really enjoyed the plot of the story. I felt like I was a character interacting within the story. One of my favorite authors.

Killer Comfort Food is another winner in the Farm-to-Fork mystery series! I adore these books and am always looking forward to the next installment. This series is original, the characters quirky but realistic, and the mysteries always surprise me! I highly recommend each one!

It’s a good addition and fans of this author will enjoy reading it.

This was a good edition to the "Farm-to-Fork" series by Lynn Cahoon. For a series I was not jazzed on when I started it, it has grown into being one of my absolute favorites [and I may or may not squeal out loud when I see a new one is coming out], and I look forward to visiting with Angie and her fabulous dog Dom, her funny goat Precious and the cranky chicken Mabel. Add in her [ever tolerant] boyfriend Ian and her best friend and business partner Felicia and all the crew at The County Seat, and it makes for a good story, even if there is a murder to solve.
This time around the story is a bit different. There is still a body, but there is also a missing socialite, an abusive ex and a startling revelation from someone that you weren't expecting [and I really wish this part of the story had been fleshed out a little bit more]. And to say anymore would really ruin this book - you think it is one thing [the buyout of homes and land from the new soybean company] but it truly ends up being something completely different. And even though I had most of it figured out, I was still left rather stunned at some of the reveal.
What I loved most about this one was how everyone seamlessly came together in trials - to help Nancy, to help Maggie, to help Angie. They worked together as a group and as a family and I truly think that if more of us could be like these fictional characters, the world would be a much better place. This was a very good read.

Killer Comfort Food, book 5 in the Farm-to-Fork Mystery series has it all and I love it!!! Author Lynn Cahoon always brings warmth with her wonderful characters and excitement with her great mysteries. This addition carries a slower build but a greater edge than some of the others, but it isn't a slow read at all. There is so much involved in the story but it is not overloaded and some of complex issues come together in the end. As I always say, as much as I love Ms. Cahoon's mysteries, I would read the books just for the character interaction.
I have to admit when I first saw the series title Farm-to-Fork, it didn't draw me but I love Ms. Cahoon's South Cover series and characters so much that I had to try this one. I have come to love the newer series even more and that is saying a lot! I appreciate that the characters don't make the stupid choices that drive me crazy in even some series that I otherwise enjoy. That is a big point in making these two series among my favorites. I hate cringing for characters instead of from the plot. Thank goodness that these guys act with intelligence, or their friends shut them down when they don't!
Killer Comfort Food was all that I expect of a book from Lynn Cahoon and more. I was thrilled to be approved for an ARC from NetGalley even though I had already pre-ordered my personal copy!!! I feel confident requesting one of her books because I know that I will be sharing my enjoyment with friends and followers whether not I get an ARC and I love getting my hands on them early!
