I relate so much to Catana's comics. I think that the biggest appeal of her illustrations is that it captures the little moments we all experience and can relate to. In Love & Pajamas made me feel just as warm and fuzzy as her last two books.
A sweet collection of comics displaying the lovely, relatable, quirky, and very real relationship the author and her partner have. Super fun read.
In the introduction Catana and John say that this book is about being able to be yourself with your partner and embracing your partner’s quirks, even when they are ridiculous and embarrassing. It is about feeling safe to be vulnerable and real with the person you love. This is a time when folks have been with their partners a lot more than usual, between working from home or underemployment, so in many ways this is a timely book.
For those familiar with Catana Comics, this collection is largely what readers have come to expect (and appreciate). As promised, there are silly moments, relationship quirks, extreme introvert tendencies, and reminders that men’s fashion and women’s fashion are brutally different in ways that are deeply unfair to women. There is more of a focus on being a supportive partner in this book, and both John and Catana’s characters seem to experience more bad days over the course of the book, though no mention is made of COVID-19, which will make this more of a timeless read in years to come.
In Love and Pajamas feels like a much shorter book than Snug or Little Moments of Love, and it’s true that it has a lower page count, but I think the reason it feels shorter is because more of the comics are wordless, so there is very little reading to do. Possibly it feels shorter because many of the comics are very similar to one another, or to previous comics. Which is fine - Catana has found a niche and is occupying it splendidly, but of the three published volumes of her comics, I would not say this is the strongest, or even the second-strongest.
That said! This is a really good book, particularly for gifting, and on no less than a dozen occasions I wanted to wake my partner up to show him a comic, but as loving and supporting as my partner is, waking him up before 7 a.m. to show him a comic would be an unkindness. I’ll just wait until he’s had his coffee.
I've been following Catana's comics on social media for a few years now and simply adore her comics. I loved *In Love & Pajamas*, with all of its quirky, adorable, relatable, and hilarious moments. I laughed out loud several times, including when John asks Catana if she drove his car and when Catana asks John if he slipped on the ice outside. There were some that I didn't even realize the relatability of until I saw them, like the one about looking at housing despite not being in the market to shop for a house. I absolutely loved how this book portrays all the small moments of a relationship. This book was the perfect way to decompress after a stressful day at work!
A thank you to Andrews McMeel Publishing and NetGalley for the ARC.
Catana Chetwynd is my absolute favourite cartoonist by a long shot. I found her drawings on Instagram and my boyfriend and I would constantly send each other the new posts that Catana would put out. I already own her two other books, Snug and Little Moments of Love but this one is just so good. I can relate to her relationship with John, and her cute little dog.
Her cartoons make me smile, and laugh, and remind me that people are just like me! We are happy, we’re sad, we’re empathetic, tired, angry and all of these feelings are valid.
I recommend Catana’s comics to everyone and send them to anyone I can relate to them with.
I will buy all of Catana’s books, and congratulate her on all her success!
As always, an adorable collection of comics! If you want something light and relatable, this is definitely a good choice!
I am not at all surprised that this is my first 𝟓 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐫 𝐫𝐞𝐯𝐢𝐞𝐰 of the year. To say I love 𝐂𝐚𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐚 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐢𝐜𝐬 would be a hefty understatement.
𝐂𝐡𝐫𝐢𝐬, my husband but then boyfriend, actually discovered 𝐂𝐚𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐚 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐢𝐜𝐬 before me and was tagging me in the super cute and relatable panels each time he happened upon them on 𝐅𝐚𝐜𝐞𝐛𝐨𝐨𝐤. On one of our many 𝐓𝐚𝐫𝐠𝐞𝐭 outings, he even bought me a physical copy of 𝘓𝘪𝘵𝘵𝘭𝘦 𝘔𝘰𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘴 𝘰𝘧 𝘓𝘰𝘷𝘦.
𝘐𝘯 𝘓𝘰𝘷𝘦 & 𝘗𝘢𝘫𝘢𝘮𝘢𝘴 is a beautiful continuation of the love story that is 𝐂𝐚𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐚 and 𝐉𝐨𝐡𝐧. I love how 𝐂𝐚𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐚 so perfectly portrays the beauty of becoming truly close to and completely and utterly comfortably with another person, your person. I can’t tell you how many times I said to 𝐂𝐡𝐫𝐢𝐬 that this is 𝘭𝘪𝘵𝘦𝘳𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘺 an 𝘦𝘹𝘢𝘤𝘵 portrayal of our relationship because of that very reason: we are 100% our true selves with each other, 𝐰𝐞𝐢𝐫𝐝𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐚𝐥𝐥.
The art style of these comics is so cute, I could honestly stare at them all day. The fun-loving energy is incredibly portrayed in the lines and the eyes and the simplicity. I just love it so much.
I have always loved Catana comics and I enjoy watching/reading them on IG, but having it in a book format makes it better just because I can keep reading them over and over again (I can't wait to have a physical copy in my hands). The stories are really cute and relatable, I think every person who decides to read this book is going to find something they can relate to at least in one of the stories.
Is a book you can pick up when you are feeling slumpy or sad. A book you can read when you are in the mood for something sweet and easy to get into. The only sad part of this book is that is so easy to read that you might finish it in under an hour and be craving more. Love it and would recommend everyone to pick it up.
This is the second book from Catana that I read and I can't pick a favorite one. Can't wait for the next one.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC.
This is my first comics by Catana and it was so adorable. This couples comic shows so many moments that I am sure every couple would relate to. The comic strips are based on Catana’s own relationship with her partner. They are cute and funny. Really enjoyed this and now I am looking forward to reading her backlist work.

5/5
Can I say I literally pouted when I finished this book? I wanted more drawings! Not that there weren't enough, there were plenty, I just wanted to be absorbed in this book longer and longer.
I absolutely loved it and I cannot thank Netgalley and the publisher enough to let me read this early. This would be an amazing Valentine's Day gift (If you're into those) but also generally a great gift for someone you live with, someone you love and/or someone you are with. Even if you're not gifting it someone, it's such a sweet thing to go through yourself. It filled up my hearth with joy. I cannot even describe a negative about these comics and I cannot wait to see the other collections of comics she has released, and I am going to follow her to see which ones she'll release next.
This is the cutest collection of comics. I see so much of myself and my love relationships in them. It's truly a reflection of how wonderful things can be between two people who love and embrace each other for who they are. A great gift for your significant other!
Sweet, simple, silly, super relatable.
I always find myself smiling reading these comics and this next installment is no exception. It’s nice to have cozy models of love out there in the mix, too.
Thanks to NetGalley and the publishers for an SRC in exchange fir ja honest review.
In Love & Pajamas is the third comic collection by Catana Chetwynd. Taking inspiration from her life, especially her relationship with her now husband, John, Chetwynd details their relationship in short four panel comics. This is a book full of sweetness, love, friendship and joy.
I loved that while the moments she portrayed was of her own relationship, there was enough familiarity that anyone can relate to it, whether it is staying home, going out, interacting with friends or just showing the small moments that make up a relationship in the day-t0-day life.
It is a perfect antidote to the current world and a great escape. I can't wait to see more of the Catana comics in the future.
Note: I received an advance copy of the book from NetGalley in exchange for my honest review.
This is a really cute story. Whether you are in a relationship or not, I think you can find some reliability and adorableness in this story. This would make the perfect Valentines Day gift for you or your loved ones.
I love Catana Chetwynd's comics. She captures life in such a way that I am jealous to my soul that I don't have a John of my own. *Sigh* Everyday silliness and comparable weirdness is a recipe for romance and a great Catana collection.
I love slice of life comics like this. Chetwynd's vignettes are super cute. I love the sweet moments between her and John. My husband and I have been together nearly 20 years so it was nice to see little reminders of how we were in the early years and what moments have continued on so many years later. The book is a bit on the short side, but its size makes it a nice gift for a significant other.
"In Love & Pajamas" is another lovely comic collection by Catana Chetwynd. As a fan and Instagram follower of Catana, I had seen a few of these comics before, but a lot of them were new and completely adorable.
I bought her previous books, "Little Moments of Love" and "Snug," so this was the first of her books I read in a digital format, which I actually liked a bit more. Most of these little comics are so relatable and show how the small, everyday things bring couples closer together.
Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for providing an ARC for my honest review.
The illustrations are adorable. I first found out about these little comics through Facebook, and would send them to my boyfriend on occasion because we're long distance and it was a way for me to tell him I was thinking of him.

In Love & Pajamas is the first Catana's collection of comics that landed in my hands, and I promised myself I would read more of them, such as Snug.
What I loved the most about this collection is that it made me feel loved too. This charming little book made me feel loved, made me feel wanted, appreciated, and it made me feel cosy and comfortable in my fuzzy pyjama under the blanket while reading it.
This read was well worth the hot chocolate getting slightly cold while getting lost in my thoughts and being reminded of my favourite childhood characters from Kim Casali's Love Is... cartoons. I still adore Kim Casali's work, and Catana did a great job of reminding me about Casali's Love Is...
These comics are super cute, super relatable, lovable, comforting and, above all, they put a smile on your face while reading them.
P. S. If you ever thought of gifting a cute comic book to someone you love and care about, and you want to show them how you feel about them, look no further; In Love & Pajamas is the perfect birthday present.
This book was just so adorable, cute and heartwarming! Exactly what is needed for this crazy world right now! Loved this so much!
