This was such a WattPad read and I cannot believe it was seriously published. Hated all the characters and the FMC most of all. I can see the appeal of this book if you like teen drama shows like Gossip Girl, but it was such a hard no for me. Basically, started rage reading it since the start of the book. Do not recommend.

Revenge Cake is a honest, tear-jerking, dark romance.
Skyler Mason has provided a raw, unfiltered view of addiction and its effects on people and relationships.
Trigger warning- this book features addiction, anxiety, and panic attacks and is recommended for those who are interested in chick-lit, romantic comedies with darker undertones.

This book is so interesting! I loved the main couple - even though they have their own issues, they are really well fleshed out. The romance certainly lives up to the series name but I found myself really rooting for these two. Hopefully we get a look at how they’re doing somewhere down the line!

This is a steamy, angsty romance, and i usually like those, but unfortunately this just wasn’t for me.
I didn’t care for the characters, nor the story, i did not like the plot, and to be honest, the characters were annoying. I also did not really like the toxic relationship, the addiction side of the story and the cheating.
The cover is pretty tho,

I could not put this one down. I loved the story line and all the characters. Who doesn't love a good revenge story? I will definitely be picking up whatever else this writer puts out. Thank you Netgalley for giving me an advance copy in exchange for an honest review.

I would like to thank NetGally for allowing me to have an ARC of Revenge Cake by Skyler Mason. This book started off with so much promise. I was really into the story, but then it just fell off less then half way through. I did not finish this book.

We meet Brittani and Logan in the midst of we were on a break moment for the next month due to the fact that she’d had a breakdown and keyed Logan’s car because she thought he was cheating on her with her best friend, Olivia.
Armann sets Logan up with Mia, his girlfriend’s Brenna’s roommate but Logan decides that he’s fallen for their other roommate, Leilani due to her honest and refreshing outlook on life.

As someone who suffers from generalized anxiety disorder, I absolutely related to Leilani. I loved loved all the characters especially Brenna (love the name) & Leilani. Logan was a complete d bag and I hated him

**ARC provided by the publisher of Netgalley in an exchange for an honest review** Revenge Cake is a debut novel and I really liked it, I’m a sucker for scenes that is so complicated I’ll cringe. Don’t let the cover fool you because this book is far the most sweetest book you will ever read! I really enjoyed this book but some plots and scenes don’t really make sense so I left dumbfounded. The characters are toxic and sometimes I want to throw my kindle because of them. But overall I liked it.

about this book.... I really tried to get into the story and while when I started reading it I was really interested in the drama and the relationship but midway it was just too toxic for me to continue so I stopped reading after about 40% in.

This book is a little bit different than the other books I’ve read, and I was hesitant to read it because of the mixed reviews. I liked it, and I actually requested to read it because the cover caught my eye. I have to say I couldn’t put the book down, and the characters were complex and interesting. I give it a 4/5. Thank you to NetGalley for letting me read this book, I enjoyed it a lot!

This book was really great! I strongly recommend it. It wasn't exactly what I thought it was going to be like, but definitely worth the read! 4/5 stars!

This one was different than I originally expected. It had some sensitive subjects in it, but it brought to light the other side of said subjects. It was well written, and I enjoyed it despite it being different from most books I've picked up lately. Would recommend. 3.5🌟

This book I was kind of iffy about. I really did like it in the beginning, but as I read the book I was less drawn to it and more wanted to just finish reading the book. But I did like that the author included a mental health/mental illness aspect to this book; because I always love when authors include mental health awareness showing that it’s okay and everyone has mental health. But I feel like the main plot was too much and ultimately made me not enjoy the book as much as I thought I was going too.

But I am very grateful for NetGalley for the ARC Copy for an exchange of my honest review.

This was not at all what I was expecting, yet I could not put it down. To give a true gauge of how enthralled with the storytelling of this book I was (even when some characters made me want to drop kick them into the next county) I read the entirety of this novel while in labor in the hospital, it distracted me through contractions into the wee hours of the morning and I was disappointed when I finished it and had to put it down.

This book gives you the story of a couple with a back and forth telling from the beginning of their relationship to the end, slowly weaving the tail of falling in love and the destruction of that love. I loved and hated these characters simultaneously. I rooted for them and against them. The ending was far more satisfying than I could have anticipated and the completed cycle of cake really made me smile.

Handling of trauma not for me. Stylistically, this book was simply not my cup of tea. I think there is also a disconnect between the marketing (cover art, blurb) and the contents, which probably also leads to a larger number of readers like me left not quite satisfied.

This book was a nice twist on a dysfunctional relationship! Normally it’s only the men who are toxic, but not in this book! I found it to be well written, but also a bit aggravating, sort of like I felt with AFTER (which I loved). I thought it provided a good break between my normal creepy reads, and really made me glad I’m married and no longer dating! Character development was amazing, writing was fantastic, and I thought it was a captivating, realistic, and fun read! Highly recommend!

The cover and the description of this book initially captured my attention, and I am pleased to say that it certainly delivered.
Although the leading storyline throughout Revenge Cake is in fact a love story, it was incredibly refreshing to see a new take on this. The main characters were somewhat flawed and anything but perfect,
It perfectly highlights the many difficulties than many people do find themselves facing including anxiety.
When Logan declares that he needs a break from their often turbulent relationship, Leilani is infuriated. Deciding to get revenge, she proceeds to compile a list and completing it in hope of hurting him as much as he has hurt her.
The authors writing style is brilliant and really pulls you in and captivates you to the very end.

I love the writing style and set out of this book, how you can see Leilani and Logan in the past and the start of their relationship but then also contrasting them a chapter later in the present with how difficult and toxic their relationship has become. I think it shows perfectly that there is always more than one version of a story. I really connected with Leilani, I love that the author used her experience to write about Leilani’s generalised anxiety and panic disorder it made it very real and well informed. Logan and Leilani were both rather toxic but the author manages to make you root for them anyway. Logan and the chaotic angst he brought was rather funny and the dynamic between him and Leilani in the chapters set in the past is very comic. Overall this book kept me well entertained and enthralled and has made me rethink my genre preferences as this is not the type of book I would usually go for but I enjoyed it nonetheless.
