This is the perfect cookbook for the holidays and winter, when life can be so busy. I am loving the cozy goodness from these recipes, and so far I have tried two. They were both easy to make, and turned out great- my whole family enjoyed them both, and that is NO SMALL MIRACLE with two children in our house.
I am going to continue to make these recipes and will definitely recommend this to my keto neighborhood friends- they are going to love it! I really couldn't ask for more from a cookbook- give me healthy recipes, and give me my time back from cooking all night in the kitchen. WIN-WIN from this one!
Keto this, Keto that. Keto seems to be THE in way of eating right now and there ear eno shortage of books on the topic. This cookbook is another, but what I love most about it is the author herself has lost a ton of weight on it and shares her tips and recipes. From breakfast to soups to quesadillas and more, she has you covered.
One of the things I love most is that the author acknowledges that dirty Keto isn’t for everyone. With that said, there are still a bunch of recipes in here that you CAN make even if you are eating strict Keto! Kudos on that!
I enjoyed reading this book and there are lots of yummy but keto recipes. They all seem easy to make and the photos look very appetizing. I'm excited to try some of these recipes! I received a free digital copy of this book from NetGalley in exchange for my honest review
While I am still new to the Keto Lifestyle, I am always fascinated by people who cook and prepare recipes that are so delicious. So this Dirty, Lazy, Keto Cookbook is right up my alley. It did not disappoint either. I was thrilled to read some of the "Kitchen Tips" so that meal prep and cooking is kept to 30 minutes start to finish! Stephanie and William Laska have put together a great cookbook with recipes that cover all kinds of meats, vegetables, desserts and more.
Learning about how to cook Keto style is challenging without some expert help. I would call these two experts and have tried several of the recipes. They are all delicious, easy to prepare and leave you feeling very satisfied. I would recommend this book to anyone who is contemplating a Keto Lifestyle in their future.
This book will be published in Feb. 2021 and I would highly recommend that you book mark that date on your calendars, so you won't miss it.
This book was made available to me through the Netgalley.com group.
This cookbook is an excellent resource for those following the keto diet lifestyle with many recipes and wonderful looking pictures. However, the title is very misleading. From looking at the ingredients list, it would either require pre-chopping or buying pre-chopped items which in itself adds more cooking time. The author uses several different ingredients as well which would require gathering. She does a forward that suggests organizing items of use together that would save time and suggestions of organizing your whole kitchen that I found useful. It has unique ways of incorporating substitute foods for some of your favorites. If you are looking for a way to save time in your keto cooking, I would not recommend. But, if you are looking for a good resource for some yummy sounding recipes, I would recommend.
This cookbook had a wide variety of recipes for all ability levels, some of which I'm really excited to try out. The format is accessible and the nutritional information is included with net carbs right at the top. This is a good resource for anyone looking to add variety to their low carb lifestyle.
I think I was a little misled by the title and cover of this book. I did not expect that everything would require expensive indigents and specialty kitchen gadgets. I know it doesn’t say “cheap “but I feel like the title and cover implied that… My bad.
Start with what I liked: I like the explanations at the beginning but felt they were a little incomplete. Just adding a super simple logical/scientific explanation -something akin to “this works because protein fills you up, fat keeps you full, and sugar/carbs cause a brief period of satiety followed by a quick crash - would have added a lot of credibility and confidence in the author. Something more than “I did it and it worked.”
The recipe directions are simple but some entail so many ingredients it made my head hurt. I like the colorful chart for each recipe that gives nutritional information, and there is a nice array of various foods for lots of palates and dietary restrictions (her key at the beginning is cute!).
No the not-so-good...
I guess, for me, the big question is… Why? Why bother to buy this book? What makes it stand out from the hundreds of other keto cookbooks on the market? These are many of the same recipes, what makes these “quick” and “lazy” is that they rely on ready-made ingredients (premade riced cauliflower, precut veggies) and fancy equipment.
Maybe a better title would be “The Keto Kookbook for People With Money to Spare” or “Expensive Shortcuts to Make Cooking Keto Faster and Easier”?
I've collected all the Dirty Lazy Keto books and adore them and this is a WONDERFUL addition. Getting ready to celebrate 2 years on Keto and almost 200 pounds gone for good and the Laskas have been a huge part of this journey. Can't wait to add this book to my personal library as well as the growing Keto portion of my public Library. I loved all the tips and tricks in this volume. I was able to try out many recipes with favorites being No Fuss Pho, the green bean casserole, Naan Now, oh and the alfredo soup (so good!!)
Well organized with realistic recipes for real people... none of that "use 6 pots, 2 pans, and 8 bowls" garbage I've seen before... I like this a lot.
This is a fun keto cookbook with lots of tasty sounding recipes. The author is very likeable and encouraging, and has maintained a 140 pound weight loss for 8 years so she's well suited to be giving advice. There are lots of color photos and nutritional information is provided. She uses a lot of packaged and processed foods that I don't, but there were still lots of recipes that I am looking forward to trying. This isn't my favorite keto cookbook but it's one of the better ones I've read.
I read a temporary digital ARC of this book for review.
Talk about good timing! I had been strictly adhering to keto for a few years and then fell away during these strange times of covid. This is the nudge I need to get back into feeling better and to lose weight, too. Though my cooking is often complex (I have a lot of time on my hands!) it's great to see a fresh batch of quick keto recipes for those blah times. It's fired up my imagination and inspired me to return to the keto lifestyle!
Key points are highlighted in yellow. The book is written in a very accessible manner, easy to understand, along with icons describing dishes such as . She explains at the beginning of the book what to eat more of and what to avoid, all the while rooting her readers on and setting us up for success. She also gives ideas for creating a better workspace, organizing time, her top 10 hacks and various other tips such as making/preparing double what you normally would. And then come the recipes. One of my keto struggles (have celiac) is to find breakfast inspiration. Well, the Hot-Footed Homestyle "Potatoes" look fabulous...and aren't what you think! The No Fuss Pho looks delicious as does Step On It Pickle Stackers. In fact, that was our lunch today! Tomorrow's lunch will be Go Go Grilled Cheese...haven't tried this idea before. I cannot wait to try Short Order Sriracha Brussels Sprouts! They'd go splendidly with Clock's Tickin' Vodka Chicken. And the fudge...another great ingredients blend idea.
The back of the book is dedicated to information including calculating carbs and conversions. You will like that the number of net carbs, nutritional information, time involved and tips/options are listed for each recipe.
If you are interested in beginning the keto lifestyle and/or a beginner cook, this is a wonderful place to start. If you are already knowledgeable and an expert cook, this also has many new and interesting ideas.
My sincere thank you to Adams Media and NetGalley for providing me with an ARC of this fun and very practical Keto book in exchange for an honest review. Much appreciated.
Stephanie does it again! I don't know she she continues to churn out one amazing book after another, but I'm here for it. In her latest tome, she delivers recipe after recipe that are quick and easy to make when following a Keto diet. The ingredients are for the most part standard things you would have at home--there are a few specialty ingredients for some recipes, but if you are following Keto, you would be familiar with the products. Her recipes are not fussy or time-consuming--this collection promises you will be eating in under 30 minutes with many being much shorter than that. Another great bunch of recipes!
The new cookbook by the Dirty, Lazy Keto blog author, has recipes for all parts of the meal all quick to prepare. A nice feature is the Table of Contents, which list each recipe and has icons next to it that are quick guides to the dish's characteristics.
I really like that this is a realistic & unfussy approach to keto. You won't find hand-wringing about only using organic, grass-fed meat. Instead, you'll find real-world suggestions for using ready-made foods and making a double batch and freezing it.
A useful book for people who are not on the keto diet and people who are. I am not on the keto diet, and I still found the recipes very useful, especially since they can all be made rapidly, without fuss, and I am always looking for ideas on that score.
I loved Stephanie's other books Dirty, Lazy, Keto; The Dirty, Lazy, Keto Cookbook; and The Dirty, Lazy, Keto Dirt Cheap Cookbook. This one is just as awesome! I have a bunch of new recipes to try!
