This is actually a very sweet book to help children what is currently happening in the world. Personally I would have liked more illustrations but then that’s me. I love the bit to explain to children that some sacrifices can be hard and lead to change. Love the little adult jokes in the illustrations with the loo rolls. Overall , I would be happy to use this as a learning tool.

This cute picture book is designed to help children cope with the pandemic, but it is unique in its focus on fantasy creatures and its avoidance of directly mentioning COVID-19. I thought that it was cute and creative, and enjoyed the joke about people hoarding toilet paper. I also appreciate how the book emphasizes the importance of protecting others, recognizing that even though this isn't something that anyone wanted or chose, people can grow in character as they navigate this challenge.

The illustrations are adorable, and even though the ending is somewhat abrupt, I enjoyed this book and think that families might find it helpful, especially when their children are interested in fantasy and would get more out of an imaginative book than one which simply describes their daily reality. I also appreciate how this book acknowledges the sadness and loss associated with COVID-19, validating children's emotions while still encouraging them to make the most of where they are right now.

Thanks to the publishers for sharing this one. It's a nice idea to have a fun way to get these things across to kids. My full review appears on Weekend Notes.

I read this book through the Netgalley. I appreciate the author trying to explain Quarantining and social distancing in a children’s book. It was great to explain how they are protecting and saving others by staying home.

A great book to help explain to children what is currently going on in the world in the middle of this pandemic. I've been able to talk to my young children a few times but this book was really helpful explaining it to them and showing them in a child-friendly, easy to follow way. They enjoyed the nature and the wildlife illustrations as well as the warrior aspect. The book really gave them a "call-to-arms" in a sense and they understand their part in all this. This book really helped and I would highly recommend this book, especially to parents struggling to have conversations with their kids. It makes for a great addition to my children's library and we'll probably be reading it a few times throughout this ordeal.

I voluntarily reviewed this after receiving a free copy.

"I received a complimentary copy of this book through NetGalley. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own."
This book had potential for being great, and capturing the current situation. However, I think it kind of fell flat. The inclusion of the toilet paper issue was humorous, but it felt a bit too preachy at times.

This was a cute tale to help educate small children on the importance of social distancing and wearing a mask. It was easy to understand and the drawings were engaging. I had to laugh when I saw the piles of toilet paper cartoons. I would recommend this to my nieces and nephews!

Cute, short, and sweet children's story all about the importance of social distancing and taking care of yourself and loved ones during a pandemic/lockdown. I thought the baseline morals of the story were great to tell children, but I'm not quite sure the actual book does more than just explaining these concepts to your child(ren) would. There aren't any extra adventures or anything of the sort that would make a child, in my opinion, more keen on following the guidelines. The illustrations were very cute, but I wish we had more full-page spreads or details. Overall, while I did enjoy the message, it left lackluster for me.

Thank you to NetGalley for an eARC. All thoughts and opinions are my own

I received an arc of this title from NetGalley for an honest review. I guess it's time for books about Covid, social distancing, and mask-wearing, but I'd prefer to keep picture books less real world. It a good story...

"Staying Home" is a children's book, geared towards kids ages 6-10, about a family of magical deer who must stay home to combat a virus in their community. The deer children learn how important it is to stay away from friends, help out at home, wash their hands, mask, socially distance and make sacrifices for the greater good.

This is a wonderful book to read elementary aged children (and maybe some adults!) during this time.
It provides concrete information about virus and virus spread, and staying safe, in a fun and informative way.

Thank you NetGalley for the ARC in exchange for a free review.

Cute educational story, but amateurish design. Clearly made in the past few months to reflect recent issues (including tp hoarders!) and a valiant attempt to explain the pandemic in child friendly terms, but it just fell flat for me.

What a great children's book to help explain the world's current pandemic and any other virus for that matter. The illustrations were simple yet fun. I did enjoy the toilet paper hoarding reference! I thought the references to the children being able to play their part and become heroes was a great touch!

This would be a great addition to any child's or school library!

What a great story to explain COVID 19, as well as other viruses we may have. This is a simple, straightforward story to help explain what has to be done to prevent viruses from spreading. I can definitely see me using this story to read to young children , if I was not a retired elementary teacher! Cute illustrations and i liked the warrior theme. What a great way to grab kid's attention.

This is such a sweet book to explain the importance of social distancing. My son thought the animal that wasn't following social distancing was really funny. I loved the message of this book. It's a great way to help children make sense of what is happening around them with coronavirus. I received a free copy of this book from netgalley and the publisher in exchange for my honest review.

Might come in handy for younger kids, especially those into warrior deers! Not much to the story, no great adventures, no dramas, just a straight forward, child level explanation of covid-19, with out its dirct mention. Can actually work for any virus. But the masks, socail distancing, hand washing really marks it for this virus. Might make a fun heirloom for the grandkids. Last page has a fun nod to toilet paper hoarding by what appears to be a bear! illustratins are fun!

This a very sweet, and comprehendible book for kiddos to learn about the cautionary steps we need to take during the pandemic. More than one lesson is taught, if you're paying attention. Cute illustrations and just enough detail to keep children engaged. My children and I all give a 10/10!! We will definitely be buying this for our home library.

This book has great value in explaining social distancing due to Covid. I’d recommend it to parents and other settings for children under 10.

Somewhat helpful in explaining the virus to children. I would buy this for an older child maybe 7-10 years of age.

This book is a perfect way to explain to children about Covid-19 and why social distancing is so important.
I really wish I came across this months ago - I really think it would have helped my daughter understand why she wasn't going to preschool, and why she wasn't allowed to see her friends and family.
Would definitely recommended

This is an interesting story written to explain Covid 19 to young children. It is well written and explains why we must keep to the current regulations to help defeat the virus in a way that children will understand.

Thank you to NetGalley and BooksGoSocial for my copy.
