At points, it feels as though Jamie pulls up a chair, hands us our favorite glass of wine, and shares her most vulnerable (and often times relatable!) stories. Her refusal to give up no matter what, her dedication to her business AND her family, her tenacity, and her passion for what she believes in are all incredibly inspiring. If this book doesn't motivate you to get off the couch, go after your dreams, and BELIEVE, I don't know what will!

I feel so blessed to have been able to read the advanced copy of this book and it has truly changed the way I think about myself, it has given me so much hope and confidence. I can't think of anything we need more right now in this world than hope and confidence. It is not just your typical self help book, but it is not just a memoir either. It reads like a story but is FULL of so many useful tools to put in your tool box (you will read about that). Jamie is so real, so honest, so vulnerable and this makes her so relatable to us women. Wether you own a business, have a dream of starting one, maybe you want to write a book, or maybe you just want to discover more about you and discover your WHY for just being happy and confident in life. I absolutely LOVED this book! I could not put it down. Jamie's story is so relatable and real. I have had similar experience with getting lots of rejections and keeping on pushing ahead and moving forward. She has reignited my passion for making a real difference in my industry. I have enjoyed Jamie going live in her Facebook group each day and cannot wait for her all day event on February 22nd. I feel honored to have been given the opportunity to get a sneak peek at this important book for entrepreneurs.

have watched Jamie Kern Lima before on QVC and have tried some of her products, I was very excited to read this book and it did not disappoint. Great methods and ideas for following your dreams, building confidence and finding and using your voice.

I absolutely loved “Believe IT” from beginning to end. I told all my friends they need to preorder it ASAP! Jamie is an incredible role model for all ages! She shares such vulnerable moments of her life with each of us that inspires us to keep going even in our lowest moments of life. I cried and laughed while reading her journey. She is an inspiration to all women and men to live out their dreams despite what blocks may come our way. If our why is strong enough no one or thing can stop us from succeeding! Believe IT is a must read!

This is a great book to remind someone of how valuable they are. Author Jamie Kern Lima shares her story of how she became well-known in the makeup industry. Starting with nothing, and working out of her living room, her story certainly inspires others.

I reached a point in my life where things were just stagnant and I didn’t quite know how to get unstuck.

I’ve read countless self-help, personal development books over the years and thought this book would be like all the others. Little nuggets hidden within the pages but not enough to truly get me motivated to try something different in life. But after the first few chapters, I could tell that this book would be a change I was waiting for.

As I read chapter after chapter, it was like the book found me at just the right time in my life. Having dealt with some of the same mindset beliefs as Jamie Kern Lima, I couldn’t help but feel attached to this book and continue reading to the very end.

This book is broken down into various key lessons learned over her lifetime from countless mentors and influencers in her life. Jamie recounts her stories in each chapter and sums it all up in the end with a new core belief to shift her in the right direction in life.

This book offers a multitude of insights that points you to the path of believing in yourself like never before. A simple yet powerful read, begging you to shift your mindset and start believing in your abilities to make things happen.

Regardless if you are aware of Jamie Kern Lima for her IT Cosmetics fame (a brand whose products I love in addition to their mission), I guarantee there will be something that resonates with anyone who picks up a copy of this book—for me, I found it to be a veritable treasure trove and such a treat! This book is fresh and ideas are great. It reads like a story and is an easy read for all. If you are starting out or are older this book gives you take aways to use in you areas of life. This book show several people's lives and how they turned them around.Love the book.

This was just a complete joy to read. Not only do we get a glimpse of the intense work Jaimie has put into building her empire but we also get to feel the roller coaster of emotions that she had experienced as well. She's an influence to us all on how to persevere through challenges, to believe in yourself, your dream, and to what your heart holds true, no matter what. It was a pleasure and an honor to read through her life's experiences and it has changed me, definitely for the better!

Jamie Kern Lima's Believe It: How to Go from Underestimated to Unstoppable is an inspiring read! I had not heard of Jamie, or IT Cosmetics, before reading this book, and, really, I should have considering that Jamie is a self-made, highly-motivated, hard-working woman, who created a make-up company from the ground-up, which was eventually sold to L'Oreal for billions of dollars. Jamie then became L'Oreal's first female CEO. In this remarkable story of her life, from the tale of finding out, as an adult, that she was adopted, to meeting her idol and mentor, Oprah Winfrey, Jamie shares her heart and the lessons she learned along the way on her path to success. Jamie's achievements did not come easily or all at once, and she shares how hard she worked, the grueling days (and nights) she put in, in order to reach the pinnacle of her victories and all of her dreams. In doing so, Jamie imparts essential teachings and lessons designed to assist women in making their own dreams come true. Jamie's story was a pleasure to read, and I will surely pick this book up again when I need a bit of Jamie's inspiration and encouragement in my own life.

Part memoir, part personal development advice tome, Believe IT is the story of IT Cosmetics’ founder, Jamie Kern Lima. The book is passionate and direct, but manages to remain approachable through its delivery with a lighthearted, welcoming tone. From start to finish, you get a clear sense in your gut that the authenticity referred to so often in the book is genuinely present in Jamie.

Unlike some personal development books that flirt with the memoir genre, Jamie gets vulnerable in a cogent, meaningful way that illuminates her learnings. I found the narrative well-balanced, with vividly recounted memories lending needed layers to the Jamie Kern Lima story— nothing about the personal anecdotes she shares are there gratuitously.

There’s a raw honesty in Believe IT, and it does not in any way romanticize what it takes to grow a business to the point of a billion-dollar acquisition. She opens up pretty wide about how building IT Cosmetics affected her relationships and health, including her desire to become a mother. Jamie also touches on the myth of balance in Chapter 13, which for me (mom of 3, a woman in tech leadership, many more hats than I sometimes feel I can handle), was particularly compelling.

Sharing lessons learned through an often emotional (and nearly always relatable) look at significant life events, we get to know Jamie and understand the circumstances that shaped her and molded her mindset. Reading about the failures, the closed doors, the successes, the triumphs— I found myself equally impressed as I was motivated. And she says as much herself in the book— part of her objective in sharing her story is to uplift and inspire other women to get past self-sabotage, realize their potential, and become acquainted with their own strengths and ability to persevere.

My biggest takeaway from Jamie’s story is a simple message to the women who read it: Yes, you can do it. So go on and do it.

It is inspirational to read the story of someone who came from nothing and worked her way to the top of the beauty industry. The reminder that we all need to keep pushing forward, work hard and trust God along the way. I loved reading about a woman that included her faith in her journey and wasn’t afraid to put it out there for the world. Not only is it a story of one woman’s highs and lows on the journey to success, but is also a guide to show you the way as well. Bringing other women up behind her and providing them with the courage, knowledge and faith in their creator that they can do it too.

This book was so good. I loved learning about Jamie’s life and journey building her cosmetics brand. She definitely earned it. Many people wouldn’t have that tenacity and would’ve given up. Great testament to courage, hope and hard work!

I have read many self help, motivational books by various athletes, accomplished celebrities, and motivational speakers. Never have I read a book that had so much honesty and vulnerability. Taking the reader from the beginning of her story, Jamie Kern Lima displays her success and failures for the entire world to see. By sharing her insecurities and possibilities, every reader can take away a feeling of a "can do" attitude. Many women will walk away from this book feeling not only energized and excited about moving forward with their goals and ambitions, but will feel safe in knowing that failures and missteps are part of the journey. I am a better person for reading this book and will definitely encourage people I know both in and out of the business world to read it. This book isn't just made to improve the lives of those individuals in the boardroom or in the offices, its for those folks that want to improve their lives in any way. Believe it!

Believe It is part memoir, part guidance, and is 100% written from a place of love. I am honored to have been able to read this book and I hope there are more to come from the author!

I was fortunate enough to see the author speak at the RISExDallas conference in 2019 and she was so kind and real in her speaking. Her book is no different. Jamie writes this book as though she is sitting down with her best friend or sister eating raw cookie dough, drinking wine, and just having a heart-to-heart chat. This is so raw and real and I was moved to tears on so many occasions (they were needed and well deserved tears) and I also felt loved.

When I reached Chapter 9, I knew Jamie wrote this chapter for me. This chapter was about trusting others to help, which is something I struggle with. This is also the chapter Jamie tells her surrogacy story and she shared some of same fears I am struggling with. Her happy story has given me hope.

Another chapter that I'm sure she wrote for me was about self-worth and how we set our self-worth ourselves (& offered a great explanation using a thermostat). This chapter was so eye opening, because it made me re-think some of the self-sabotage that I do, especially when it comes to my health and weight loss.

I definitely recommend this book to every woman. Jamie shares her story of success in business and the power in believing in more for yourself. Read it for yourself, there's definitely something in it for you!
