Oh man I hope this isn't the last of these novels! I've loved all of the Class Mom novels but I think this one was my favorite. It's actually inspiring me to hop back on my abandoned Peloton and get my spin on! OMG the thing no spoikers) with the ex-wife, I literally screamed. I like that you could technically read this book and enjoy it without having read the first two in the series. There was a bit more emphasis on family I think, which I enjoyed very much. I must say, Jen's life makes me tired. She's always running around doing something! Anywho, I would definitely read this again and recommend it to a friend (as I've recommended the other Class Mom books).
I really enjoyed this one.
I think the second book in the Class Mom series went off the rails a bit, but this one brought the voice back to Jen Dixon that we all know and love.
This one had about the same pacing as the first one, but all of the balls Jen is juggling keeps you interested until the very end.
What I love about this series is that it is relatable even if you are not a mom yourself.
I expect this to be the last Class Mom book in the series as Max is now old enough to age out of needing a "class mom" at all, so I will definitely miss Jen and the whole gang.
I love this book so much. Jen Dixon is one of my favorite characters - she's like the cool mom you want to be friends with who actually tells it like it is and doesn't hide her mistakes. The book was light, fast paced and highly entertaining. It also contained many real life situations and problems that we all deal with as our kids grow up and get older. In this way it was also thought provoking (while still being extremely entertaining). I will definitely read anything Laurie Gelman writes next!
Just like Laurie Gelman’s other two books, Yoga Pant Nation is a laugh out loud read. The realistic life of a tired mom never gets old to me. I love the sarcastic tones and witty comebacks. There is always a loose plot and it’s a quick and fun read. The little side stories work around to a lesson learned and I like how everything wraps up nicely. It was a nice change to read the parents side story and the Crazy Cindy twist was a good one. I read lots of different types of books and every once and a while I like something light and funny. This book is perfect for that. I can’t wait for the next one!
Thank you SO MUCH to Netgalley and Henry Holt & Company for the opportunity to read this wonderful book!! It’s my pleasure to gush about it!!
Jen Dixon is back in this third installment of the “Class Mom” series. This appears to be the final installment as, in this book, Jen is the class mom for Max’s fifth grade class. Fifth grade is a student’s final year at William Taft Elementary. Obviously this will end the need for a class mom. Jen has a full plate with her Yoga Studios, teaching spin classes, and her granddaughter.
All of that in addition to her class mom duties and heading the PTA fundraiser. She handles it all with her trademark wit and sarcasm.
This book, and the two that came before it, are as delightful and fun as a book can be. I couldn’t get through it fast enough and, when I did get through it, I was sad. Books like this are my best friend as a mom with young children. It means everything when I can commiserate with someone. I imagine many, even most, moms feel this way. I adore reading Jen’s trademark e-mails. The book even opens with her trying to teach another class mom the art of the snark. It’s a pleasure to read and made me laugh out loud. I love this series so much!!
If this character is based on the author, Laurie Gelman, then I want to be friends with her. I love these books. They make me laugh. They have given me ideas from snark to parenting. I feel equipped to handle any future fundraising dilemmas or even my husband’s crazy ex!!
Thank you Laurie Gelman. Please keep writing these!!!!
For those who haven’t read the series and are looking for a light read, you have time to read Class Mom and You’ve Been Volunteered before the third book’s release.
If you have (or had) elementary school-aged children, you might find humor in the main character’s attitude towards her role as “class mom.” The first two books are, overall, light in tone and entertaining.
In Yoga Pant Nation, it is Jennifer’s final year as class mom and her 10-yr-old son’s last year in elementary school. Jennifer is in a “middle place” as she is finishing up her elementary school volunteer duties, helping care for her toddler granddaughter, and worrying about her aging parents. She is also learning a new skill and training to be a spin instructor. Some serious challenges arise for Jennifer and her family in the form of a custody battle, health concerns, a fundraiser, and an ex-wife. Jennifer has a lot going on, but that’s life, isn’t it?
Reading this series is fun because it is a light read, but it makes me miss the pre-pandemic traditions in school. I look forward to being a class mom again someday, and I hope we get to have parties and special events for all children again.
One more thing that baffles me about these books--what schools allow wine at school? When Jennifer assigns snacks and drinks for after-school events in the book, someone is always assigned wine. Does this really happen anywhere?? Wine at curriculum night?? As a teacher and a parent, wine was never on the menu at school!
I don't often literally laugh out loud at books, but I know that Laurie Gelman will make me LOL. I recommend the Class Mom series all the time - to moms, teachers, and aunties alike. And, Yoga Pant Nation did not disappoint. As the third book in the series, we've gotten familiar with the antics of Jen Dixon, and yet, there's still room to be surprised as she copes with her biggest school activity yet, aging parents, launching a new business venture, and finding the right altitude with supporting her adult daughters. She's the friend I'd want to have in my corner.
Many thanks to the author, publisher, and NetGalley for sharing this book with me. All thoughts are my own.
I liked that this book carried on from her first two books as it allowed you to follow along with the characters. But, you could still read this book on its own.
This third book is what Jen's life is like as both a grandma and as a mom with her son Max ending his elementary school years. The book was funny and relatable both from a mom standpoint and from anyone that has volunteered for a fundraiser. It was a quick read for me, and I liked that it followed along also on her daughter's life now that she has a kid.
Thank you to NetGalley for letting me read this Advanced Reader Copy in exchange for an honest review.
This was another home run for Laurie Gelman! I love the hilarious quick wit of Jen, the main character. In this book, Jen is finishing up her last year of elementary school class mom. She is trying to start a new career as well as be a loving mother and grandmother. There were more serious topics in this book, but I still liked the style and the characters. 4/5 stars
I love reading about the continuing (mis)adventures of Jen! She is so entertaining and relatable, and these books always suck me in.
Jen Dixon is finally seeing the light at the end of the Classroom Mom, PTA tunnel. We have followed Jen, her family, and her entourage of quirky friends all the way through grade school, She began her elementary adventures with Class Mom #1. then #2, and now, just when you thought she had seen it all., comes Class Mom #3.. Oh no, no rest for this mom, this is Jen Dixon!
Jen, your friendly, although questionably so, roommother has this role in the bag. Jen has learned, over the somewhat tumultuous years, that you do not ask class parents for help and donations. You do not write kind, warm letters, asking for their generosity. Jen designates, or maybe even demands, how the class events will proceed. She clearly states what each parent, be it ex, extended family member, or random neighbor, is to provide with precise instructions as to how and where. No swapsies, no excuses, no BS. There's no avoiding Jen, email and text or not, she will find you.
This year Jen is roped into the fundraiser position of the PTA. Of course it's not just a regularly yearly fundraiser, but the largest ever in order to support the purchase of laptops for the kids. No pressure, Jen's got this. Jen has a committee of workers all doing what they can to make this an extra special year Would Jen fail? Would her committee fall short? Never, this is Jen Dixon for crying out loud.
So you may ask, what does this yoga pant wearing mom do in her spare time? Lounge around eating Girl Scout Cookies? Wrong book friends. Jen has 2 kids of her own. Her youngest is dealing with a school bully. Whether he is the bully or the bullied, remains a mystery. Her eldest daughter is dealing with a new baby and new inlaws. And, as this is not enough, Jen is also dealing with aging and uncooperative parents.
So, the yoga pants. They are actually two-fold. Besides being the most comfortable attire on earth, Jen becomes a spin class instructor. Throughout the book we are introduced to bits and pieces of Jen's classes, the good, the bad, and her husband's ex wife. Yeah, read to see how that goes over.
I am thankful to Netgalley for providing Yoga Pant Nation, Class Mom #3, by Laurie Gelman, for my read and honest review. I thoroughly enjoyed the book, as well as the rest of the series. For a good laugh, especially for super stressed, yoga pant wearing moms, it's a must read.

Laurie Gelman’s Class Mom series books are just pure F-U-N. Her writing makes me snort in giggles. I love her charming and quirky characters and the perfect level of glorious chaos in her stories. Perhaps it’s because I’m an “Insider,” having been a class mom, PTO treasurer and unwilling field trip monitor for so many grade school years, but I have a great fondness and humor for Gelman’s school principals, textbook “power couples,” and yoga-pants wearing, exhausted moms. Reading this series is like a glass of Chardonnay with your bestie after a long day.
This book was as good as, if not better than the previous books. This book showed a lot of character growth and a tad less snark. I found the story-line/s to be a bit more serious than the first books. I still got a lot of laughs. In this book, a lot was going on -son Max, Jens parents, Jens grand-daughter and daughter, and Jens own life. Whew!
This was a fast read that I just couldn't put down, and if this is the last book about Jen Dixon and her family, I ish the author would have said so. I'm going to keep my fingers crossed that there will be more books about Jen and company.
*ARC supplied by the publisher, author, and NetGalley. Thank-you.
This is the third book in the series. She's a snarky mother who's forced into helping PTA. I enjoyed the laughs this book provided and recommend reading it for the humor. The book deals with serious issues such as custody and elederly parents and well as fining a new career as a mother and a woman in her 40's.

I LOVE Laurie Gelman's books. I have read all 3 and this may have been my favorite one, I found myself laughing out loud and not wanting to put the book down. I believe this is the last one in the Class Mom Trilogy (wah!), but I am hoping she starts another series soon. I highly recommend!
Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for allowing me to read this awesome book.
I have read all 3 books from Laurie Gelman and I have loved them all.
Funny, witty and very entertaining.
5 Stars!!!
Another fast paced & funny installment in the Class Mom series I found a few years back. I love books/shows where I want to be friends with the main character, and this fits the bill. Jen has her (sarcastic) flaws, but overall, I find her to be a dedicated mom who would do anything for her family. Between the always-relatable Jen and the laugh out loud predicaments she finds herself in, I will always come back for more of this series.
I loved the other books in this series and Yoga Pant Nation didn't disappoint. It was great to catch up with Jen and her family, get to know Maude, and her now older kids. The humor, the snark - it was all still there and I didn't want to put it down. The only thing I didn't like was the way it ended; there was the traditional end--of-year email but I was hoping for a little more, especially if this is the last in the series. Hopefully this leaves it open for more books.
I received a copy from #NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

I'm a big fan of Laurie Gelman and this book was a great continuation of Jen Dixon's life in the PTA. This could be read by itself or in succession with the previous books. As usual, it's a very entertaining book. I loved it!
Thank you NetGalley and Henry Holt for this ARC in exchange for my review..
This book is the third installment of the Class Mom series, so before reading, I read the first two books.
As a mom of 3 and a past class mom, I could completely relate to so much ...the emails, fundraisers, class parties, etc. I couldn’t relate to Jen Dixon though. Her sarcastic emails to the class parents were funny but I found her character to be obnoxious and rude and self-centered. I can truly say, those emails would never fly in real life. A class mom knows to read the room and her demandings though supposed to be funny, would not have motivated any parents in the real world.
Although I didn’t appreciate that side of her, other parts were totally relatable as a 50 year old. Aging parents, daughters and grandchildren. Daughters kicking in to help with their aging grandparents..even for just being an extra set of eyes.
All in all, it was a fun light read. It seems fitting for a time like this in our world. Trying to put a very serious time behind us and find some new laugher in the world as we reach the ends of this pandemic.
