Historical romance, continuing the series. Good characters, lots of mystery, an interesting plot. Could be read as a standalone but better if you have read the previous books as there is a lot of back history. An enjoyable read.

Thank you for letting me read this book. I enjoyed it overall but felt it was a bit slow at times. Francesca was absolutely amazing. I want to be like her when I grow up. I didnt not like Chandler at all. I did not think he was a good match for her. I would like to read more from this author in the future

Hmm. For some reason, this is my least fave in the series, considering how Francesca to me is the toughest of the 3 friends. She went through so much more than the other 2

Maybe it’s Chandler too. With so many faces and putting people on pedestals, his resistance/rejection to Francesca’s true self was really disappointing. Of course, we have a HEA but still, the road to it was bumpy.

This despite the enemies the two faced. They seem to have triumphed over the group but the group itself isn’t disbanded, merely scattered and regrouping. So that was also a loose end for me.

Thank you NetGalley and St. Martin’s Press for the copy of this book.

“I want you. I’ve always wanted you...Whatever souls are made of, yours and mine are the same…”

Francesca Cavendish, Countess of Mont Claire, has been plotting her revenge against those that killed her friends, her family and her first love. The secrets of the Crimson Council are about to come to light, and Francesca will finally have her vengeance. But there is just one snag to her plan…the Devil of Dorset also has plans of his own to bring the Crimson Council to their knees, and he’s not about to let Francesca deter him off course…even if she is the one person he’s loved above all others and perhaps the only being that could be the balm to sooth his darkened soul. But when lies and truths start blurring together and secrets long thought buried are dug up, Francesca and her Devil will have to come to terms with their past if they want any chance of a future…

The Devil in her Bed is the conclusion to the Red Rogues trilogy. Yes, yes, I understand it’s the Devil you Know series, but I prefer to think of these stories as three friends that forged a bond so strong it allowed them to defy all odds in order to find their happily ever after. Alex’s story was my fav and if you’ve not read, go forth and one click! While I loved Francesca’s bad ass persona, I found myself a little disappointed in her hero.

Personally, I was having a hard time with Chandler’s character throughout the book. At times he acted like a petulant child having a temper tantrum when things were not going his way, and it felt as if he was always trying to put Francesca in “time out”. And when her secret is revealed, he completely goes off the deep end, and if I was her, I’d have kicked his ass to the curb. Bye, bye, bye! But, that’s me…

Byrne’s romances are always a must read, and while this wasn’t my fav, it was still a satisfying tale filled with intrigue, vengeance and passion. Would recommend to fans of this genre!

A great conclusion to the Devil You Know series!

Being the only one of two supposed survivors of the Mont Claire Massacre, Pippa Hargrave assumes the identity of Francesca Cavendish and vows to bring down those responsible for her family's death; the Crimson Council. On her path of revenge Francesca comes face to face with a ghost from her past; the Devil of Dorest aka Declan Chandler, the young boy who stole her heart, the man who could bring about her ruin by exposing her true identity. When dragon and tiger meet on the road to vengeance, will they be able to work together to bring about justice? Or will their secrets, pride and passion tear them apart?

Francesca may be one of the strongest heroines I've read about. She was loyal with a heart of gold and, as the previous books proved, willing to do anything for those she loved. She was a woman on a mission and nothing was going to stop her. I had a feeling we would be seeing Chandler again after All Scott and Bothered but I didn't expect to love him this much (except at the end when i wanted to slap him but still). The two of them together were just so perfect, I loved the fact they constantly went head to head and at the root of their arguments they were just trying to protect each other. They were the true definition of explosive.

The storyline was intriguing and and the writing was excellent as always with Mrs Byrne. I am sad to see the Devil In You series ending and my only wish was that we had an epilogue that would've tied off the series neatly. Perhaps a few years into the future showing us how the 3 couples are living their HEA.

Nevertheless, it was a really great read and one I highly recommend picking up.

To start, it is hard to follow the earlier book in this series, How to Love Duke in Ten Days. This one also had tragic beginning and a similar strength was born out of the two leads from their surprising survival.

Countess of Mont Claire, Francesca Cavendish, has one reason for continuing on in a life in which she has lost all those she had loved as a young girl; revenge. Little did she know, there was another survivor on that horrible day, the boy she loved, Chandler Declan, now known as the Devil of Dorset, a spy for the Crown, set on the same mission Francesca has taken up on her own.

Declan has gone by many names, living in disquise, to hunt down a group set on terror and a lust for power. He has a hard time trusting Francesca's motives as the two battle for retribution of those they lost.

While I was rooting for these two to reunite, the set up and antagonism between them lasted a little too long. If some of the issues that had caused the conflict came to light earlier in the book, it could have added to the plot instead of dragging it out for so long. Everything seemed to begin to happen all at once and the romance and the climax with the villainous group, counteracted each other and fought to hold my attention. Once one was taken care of, the hero had a lot of groveling to do towards Francesca. If all of this was spread out more, it would have flowed perfectly.

This was still a great book in which the cadence of the timing and plot were the only draw back.

WOW!!! That was quite a bizarre, deeply dark ending to the Devil You Know series. It is definitely not a light-hearted, feel good romance. The Devil in Her Bed begins quite horribly with the murders of a household, and becomes a life of vengeance.

I struggled to finish this one because it is so dark and, at times, bizarre. The previous books were difficult, but this was way more.

Additionally, I did not see how Chandler did not recognize the differences between Francesca and Pippa. A bit of hair dye should not make that much difference. Nor why it took Pippa so long to recognize Chandler.

Please know this is an excellently written book, just not for the faint of heart.

This was a great read but I was left a little disappointed. I felt like I needed more, needed answers to some questions., but the writing was great and had lots of action and adventure and romance, overall great book.

5 stars! The Devil in her bed is the third book in Kerrigan Byrne's The Devil you Know series. If you have read the first two books, you already know the secret Francesca hides. We have been waiting a long time to see how her story was going to enfold. You honestly cant say to much about this book going in, but Francesca is a esteemed lady of the ton who spends her nights trying to find out who killed her family. Our hero, lives in secret service to the Crown. HIs path crosses with Francescas and the fun, excitement, and intrigue begins. Cant recommend enough!

Francesca Cavendish, Countess of Mont Claire has worked and trained for many years in order to crush the Crimson Council which killed all her family and loved ones. She is close to achieving her goal when Declan Chandler, also known as The Devil of Dorset, appears. They both are determined to destroy the Crimson Council. These two are strong, quite likable characters. They both have secrets and the revelation of their secrets in the story is fascinating. I really enjoyed this third book in author Kerrigan Byrne's Devil You Know series. The intrigue is scrumptious, a mystery to be devoured.

He's the Devil of Dorset, one of the Crown’s most dangerous agents. She’s the Countess of Mont Claire, or is she? Frances Cavendish is seeking revenge for the death of her family many years earlier. The Crimson Council is responsible and she means to destroy them. Can the Devil of Dorset protect her when she goes after them? He suspects that she is not who she appears to be but is drawn to her. Will his past destroy any chance at love for them or can they look to a brighter future? This is book three in a great series by Kerrigan Bryne. I recommend this entire series.

This story certainly was different, there was so much going on. Francesca was one tough lady! I did find the story to be a bit too dark for my tastes, but it picked up towards the end and got my interest. The ending was the best part. 3-1/2 stars

I have loved getting to know the three Red Rogues throughout this series. And I couldn't wait to find out all of Francesca's backstory in The Devil In Her Bed. And boy, was it worth waiting for. Though this is a series, and I highly recommend reading all of these books because they are fantastic, each book can be easily read as a standalone.

I loved the strength of both of the main characters here. Chandler and Francesca each had their own strengths. They also were able to see and appreciate the strength of the other. They complimented each other in every way. You could feel the passion burning bright between them.

This was a sexy, riveting tale full of suspense, passion, and enough twists and turns to keep me furiously flipping the pages. I cannot wait to read more novels from Kerrigan Byrne.

The final book in the trilogy, this book shows what Francesca has been up to with the men of society and who the mysterious Chandler really is. It answers all our questions about the crimson council as well. I really enjoyed all the characters of the trilogy and this book, though very dark, was enticing.

The Devil in Her Bed, is a very exciting romance novel. Something new every chapter. I will be telling all of my friends to add this to their read list.

How does one return from loosing everyone they have ever loved? They do it by hanging on to revenge. Francesca lost everyone she loved at 14. She took on the identity of another so she could enact her revenge. Chandler lost everything twice. One as a small child and then again a few years later at 16. Everyone was murdered. He must enact revenge the man who had them all killed. The two come together in a passion so bright it will blind you. They both have secrets and mistrust. Can they learn to forgive and forget and love? You will have to read to find out.

Unfortunately, The Devil in Her Bed doesn't stand alone without a great deal of confusion for the reader. The writing was fine and the adventure and suspense were fun but it was difficult to understand the plot, as it relied upon the previous books in the series so heavily.

The Devil in Her Bed is the third book of the series, featuring the final friend of the Red Rogues. I enjoyed this Kerrigan Byrne series immensely, although I do think this is my least favorite of them all.

I was intrigued by Francesca since the beginning and I couldn't wait to see how her story would play out. I loved her character, I loved the suspense and intrigue and the conclusion to the trilogy. I also loved Chandler and how the two of them interacted.

What I didn't love was how long the secrecy went on between Francesca and Chandler, specifically Francesca's secret. I felt she had so many opportunities to reveal her true identity, and she just kept putting it off. And then Chandler's reaction to the revelation was disappointing to say the least. He took it a little too hard all considered.

That hindered my absolute enjoyment of the book, but it was still Kerrigan Byrne so it was still a great story.

3.75 -4 stars

t: second chance
cw: murder, cult-like secret society, mentions of sex trafficking

Didn't realise Francesca was this badass judging from the previous books but anyway I love her and Chandler. This book is also probably the horniest out of all three? Not a complaint, obviously.

Also for some super spy, it certainly took Chandler a loooong while to figure out that Francesca wasn't actually Francesca, huh?

In order to review this ARC I read the entire series.

This one was the best of three bad books, at least in terms of pacing.

Yet we have again, a hero that didn't even come close to deserving or respecting the heroine. Another hero who absolutely hates the heroine because he thinks she's a slut, until he takes her virginity and falls in love. In this case, we have the Madonna / whore complex: he loves the virginal memory of Francesca, but finds his lust for the "whore" adult version sinful / repugnant / immoral. It is a lot to work through, and he doesn't do it fast enough.

My relief that the anti-Romani racism and stereotyping I was expecting based on slurs used in book 1 never materialized was quickly ruined by the reveal that the villain in this novel, a depraved, perverted, treasonous murderer is... Gay!

Seriously.

This is homophobia folx. This is the only gay man in the series (other than his partners, never named).

So villain 1: child sex abuse survivor
Villain 2: jealous exploitative sex worker
Villain 3: gay man

Thank you NetGalley for the ARC; this opinion is wholly my own.

If you like strong women, read Joanna Shupe, Eva Leigh, or Sarah MacLean. Their heroines get head and shoulders better treatment than this.
