What an emotionally gripping book. It draws you in and makes you want to give everyone a hug, because they absolutely need it. Pip and Declan are strong characters who have been to hell and fought their way back. One of my favorite quotes is, "It was widely thought that women were delicate creatures. Like seashells and flower petals. Like things that were easy to break and crush and discard. Useful, pretty. Ephemeral.
If this was so, Francesca Cavendish was a flower made of steel."
The other books in the series are just as good as this one. What an amazingly talented author!
Revenge is best served hot..(SPOILERS)
Rating: 4 stars
The Devil in Her bed follows the 3rd and final member of the Red Rogues , Francesca Cavendish aka Pippa. Francesca is out for revenge against the people who killed her family and friends along with her love Declan Chandler. Along her road to revenge she runs into Chandler who she believed to be dead. Chandler is suspicious of her because he remembers her to be a gentle slight woman but this Francesca is her own hero. Francesca doesn’t tell Declan who she really is because he was always in love with the real Francesca and not her (Pippa).
This book for me wasn’t the most heartbreaking story of the trilogy. (How to Love a Duke in Ten Days still holds the title) however it is a close second. She didn’t just murder the whole family she murder murdered them and Francesca had to witness all of it. That is the most heartbreaking part of the story. And like any good Kerrigan Byrne story you are just stressed and entertained the rest of the time.
The book has a childhood lovers/ unrequited love/ revenge troupe about it which are featured in several of her other books so I like that she returns to that in several of her novels. The series as a whole was great and this book really delivers on sexy good times. Declan and Francesca have such a great chemistry that it really irks that she doesn’t tell him who she is sooner and you just want to punch Declan in the face for even suggesting that she was just after Francesca’s title and money. The book has twists and turns and a surprise that I wasn’t expecting so this was a good read and I Highly recommend!
The final book in the Red Rogues series is just as exciting and sexy as the first two were. Kerrigan is an amazing writer who keeps you turning pages.
4.25/5⭐️
This is the final in a trilogy from an author I had never read before but have now become a fan of.
This one started out with the heroine Pippa (as a girl of 9) losing her entire family/friends to a violent massacre. She is hidden by Chandler, her childhood crush who is later killed as well. Twenty years later, out of revenge for the deaths, she has assumed the life of her dead friend Francesca (a countess). As she investigates a mysterious and sinister secret order, she uncovers more than she bargained for.
I enjoyed Francesca’s/Pippa’s feisty, cunning character and her loyal single-mindedness in rooting out the villains. In the end, she faces the heart wrenching decision of exposing her true identity to the man she loves. Well envisioned and unique plot.
Many thanks to #NetGalley and #StMartinsPress for providing me the early ARC. The opinions are strictly my own.
Both Chandler and Pippa, scarred by a tragic attack on their family, think each other dead. They both remake themselves into someone else. So much so, they don’t recognize each other when they meet many years later. They both have been seeking the people responsible to get revenge. Can they work together to finally get justice? I received an ARC from NetGalley and St. Martin’s Press for my honest review.
This book was very very good!! Francesca is trying to find out who murdered her family and meets Chandler who is also investigating it. The description and dialogue are great! There was suspense, mystery, romance and action! I don’t want to give too much away there was so much detail and the story is fantastic you have to read it for yourself to discover it!
This was a diverting read. Kept me interested from start to finish and had a lovely story line. I would like to see stories for some of the other characters mentioned in this book as well.
Wow, this story was intense and had my emotions all over the place! It definitely is not a lighthearted romance story, instead it's filled with secrets, danger, deception, suspense and fierce passions. A lot of swearing too but that didn't bother me.
I don't think I've ever "met" a heroine that is so stubborn or independent as Francesca/Pippa. I found her a bit over the top at times but then she's gone through a lot and is out for revenge so one can forgive her for being the way she is. As for Chandler, my heart cried for him, especially when we learn what he endured when he was a child and the secret he reveals near the end. It's no wonder he's so hardened and angry most of the time.
The one thing that really bothered me is the fact that throughout the story, Chandler tells of his love for Francesca ever since they were children but when Pippa is mentioned, he practically shrugs her off. When he finds out "Francesca" is really Pippa, he's angry at first but then says he loves Pippa. That was just too much of a turnaround for me to be realistic. Other than that, a great story that had me anxiously turning the pages!!
I received an ARC of this book via NetGalley and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
I am voluntarily posting an honest review after reading an advance reader copy of this story.
The Devil In Her Bed, by Kerrigan Byrne, is available at booksellers on March 9, 2021. We've come to book 3, and the end of the Devil You Know series. Our last schoolgirl friend, Pippa/Francesca has finally met a man who can keep up with her. Declan/Chandler has as many secrets as Pip and is just as tortured and looking for justice in the form of revenge. They're made for each other if they get through the lies & secrets. Even though I know there will be an HEA I still wondered about these two. They kept me guessing until the very last chapter. Since they're grown, 30-ish, there's some grown up sex.

This is the third book in this series that I've read. Each of the books really has a different perspective: a different hue of a strong-willed woman who has been through trauma, come out the other side and been shaped by it.
This third book is Francesca's story.
Francesca is working to unpick the organisation that is responsible for the death of her family. At times this gets very uncomfortable to read but her determination sees her through.
I liked the book, although my favourite is still How to love a Duke in 10 days.
I'm so in love with this book! This is one of the very few novels that I devoured in one sitting, then went back and re-read again over the next few days and loved everything about it. Seriously, it is that good. I have read the other books in the series so I was familiar with the characters but one need not have read the others to enjoy this one. Kerrigan Byrne did not disappoint. The heat in this one was off the charts and I loved Francesca's character - her wit is spot on! I wont give away anything- you need to read this one!!!
I was given an advanced e-copy in exchange for a review but I do plan on purchasing this book
This was a great conclusion to The Devil You Know trilogy. I did think that Chandler was the perfect match for Francesca (aka Pippa). The only thing that got me was that Chandler never asked her how she was still a virgin after supposedly sleeping around the ton. The reader knows how she did it but Chandler wouldn't have known.
This is an engrossing tale of murder, revenge, lost love, and secret identities. Surviving a mass murder, Pippa takes on a new identity and plots a revenge that takes twenty years to come close to fruition. Uppermost in her mind is the question why was her family targeted? Pippa has undergone finishing school where she met her soon to be best friends, and has trained in weapons and self defense. It is unclear to me how she could afford to do this as a minor without declaring herself and becoming someone's ward. It is either unexplained in the book or I read too fast and missed it. I don't think it matters really as the story rolls along like a runaway train.
This wasn’t my favorite of the series. It was really dark and I couldn’t really get into the story or characters. Lady Francesca and Chandler were an interesting pair for sure. This duo took on the dark side of London and the nefarious dealings of those in power.
After tragedy steals all she loves from her as a child, Lady Francesca Cavendish emerges from the shadows as an adult determined to take down those responsible. But is she really who she claims to be? Declan Chandler is not convinced that the girl he once loved survived the horror of their childhood. Living under assumed aliases and working for the crown, Declan seeks his own revenge on those behind the tragic events. When these two determined forces collide they get more than they bargain for. This is absolutely a MUST READ!! It will keep you hooked from start to end. I received an ARC of this work from netgalley in exchange for an honest review. Aall opinions are my own and given freely. Sincerely, Anna
I have not always loved Kerrigan Byrnes heroines. In fact many of them are downright deceitful and this is the same. I thought "Francesca's" reason for assuming her friends identity untruthful. And then to decide to remain as this person when it all became clear was wrong. And don't get me started on Chandler, or whatever, his name is. This plot and characters were barely readable and definitely not likeable.
A four star read for the end of this intriguing series. Francesca has been seeking revenge ever since she was the sole survivor of her family’s massacre. Her mission in life is to find all those who were responsible for her family’s murder and give them the right punishment. Little does she know that there is another person seeking the same revenge that is the only person she has loved her entire life. This is a story full of surprises and many twists. Although the reader is absorbed into the English historical society, the author makes sure not to leave out some steamy scenes and some sensual hints. The only flaw I can point out is the length of the story. It was a little bit too long for my taste but overall I highly recommend the book.
**I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review. **
I have a complicated relationship with this author. The books that everyone seems to love have just been okay for me. I loved her mystery that I read last year but I really wanted to give her romances another try.
This book was amazing. The characters just leapt off the pages. THey were shrouded in secrets and on a collision course from the very start. Frank is such an amazing character, She literally pulled herself from the ashes of loss and turned herself into someone who could not only, survive, but also get the revenge she so desperately needed. She is smart and resourceful and refuses to be cowed by anyone. I love that she even frightens her friends significant others a bit. She does not cow to anyone for any reason. And she does not need a man's help, thank you very much.
Chandler is a man also on a mission. He,too, survived tragedy and has lived believing that he is the only one. He lives in the shadows but when in the light, he is often someone else. He cannot believe that Francesca survived and now he must prove that this upstart is an imposter.
The heat between these two is palpable. They are after the same things but they cannot be bothered to be honest about themselves.
The entire book is amazing and I love any book that includes danger banging. This is the best book I have read by the author.
The Devil in Her Bed ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
By Kerrigan Byrne
This story continues the hypnotic way Ms Byrne
weaves her magic pen. As a die hard fan of this author she is right on spot with her characters.
FrancescaCavendish/ Pippa seeks revenge for the death of her family. Declan Chandler seek his own revenge. The Crimson Council being the target.
As they ban together, each with their own agenda, the truth begins to emerge. The sex scenes are hot but very much needed to understand the characters.
This is the third book of the series and I believe to truly understand all the characters they must be read order.
This is a well-written, entertaining, steamy historical romance novel. It has likable, engaging characters, a strong and capable female protagonist, intrigue, mystery, secrets, a hot hero, sizzling chemistry, a heart-warming romance, and a happily ever after ending. This is the third entry in Ms. Byrne's outstanding Devil You Know series, and can easily be enjoyed as a stand alone. The supportive, caring, Red Rogues, and brief glimpses of past events, have piqued my interest in reading their stories.
Net Galley kindly provided me with an ARC of this novel, and this is my honest review.
