Kerrigan Byrne's novels are just amazing for me. They are always filled to the brim with sassy and engaging heroines and alpha heroes who give me all the swoons. I was absolutely obsessed with The Devil in Her Bed and could not get enough of Chandler and Francesca.
What I loved more than anything was how empowering and strong Francesca was. She was a woman on a mission and was one of the strongest heroines I have read from Byrne. I also loved the banter between Chandler and Francesca. Their interactions were outright funny but also quite sexy where I could feel the simmering tension between them.
Overall, this story was sexy and suspenseful. I absolutely loved this novel so much! ~Ratula, 5 stars
Hidden identities, multiple intrigues and secrets, and both tragedy and ultimately triumph are all featured in Francesca's and Chandler's story. Layers are uncovered as the past, present, and future come together in their passionate relationship. I loved that the three women friends formed lifetime bonds in this series. Recommended.
I am STILL loving every book I read from the very talented KB!!! This book was no exception! The plot was twisted! Chandler and Francesca’s encounters were funny at first, and then became very steamy! Her stories have it all, humor, emotion, alpha males, strong females, and love! At this point, I will read anything she writes!!!
“Lord, but she could start an argument in an empty room.”

This was a delicious and satisfying read. Crazy chemistry between Francesca and the Devil of Dorset. I love both of their characters, they are both very well written and developed. So many feelings with this one. A wonderful end to the trilogy. I would read it again and again. My only complaint was I found myself skimming stuff about the Crimson counsel but their romance was so good it was worth it.
I adore Kerrigan Byrne - thank you so much for the early copy! I am so excited to have found historical romance at this point in time, there are so many authors to binge read and Byrne was one of my first.
I've loved reading the stories of the Red Rogues--each story has been interesting and filled with strong friendships and strong women. And as much as I've enjoyed each novel, I've officially found my new favorite Kerrigan Byrne in The Devil in Her Bed.
I've been insanely curious about the story of Francesca and this novel not only gives the history but gives me a heroine who is so fierce and independent and strong that I can't imagine another character topping her in my top favorite heroines. I loved her story--her bravery, sleuthing, and lack of effs to give filled my entire afternoon. I enjoyed being a fly on the wall as she solved the mystery of the slaughter of her childhood and 'seeing' Chandler become completely smitten by her. He really was the perfect partner for her--he had his own secrets, matched her strength and stubbornness and also had run out of effs to give--and reading his reactions to her was just so much fun.
As what I'm assuming is the final novel featuring the Red Rogues comes to an end, it was fun to see what Cecilia and Alexandra were up to and to see all three of them have their happily ever afters. And while I'm sad to see them go, I'm excited to explore even more of the characters and stories written by Kerrigan Byrne.
4.5 stars for this fabulous book. Francesca has harbored a secret for years - she survived the massacre at Mont Claire, but took Francesca’s place to have the means to seek revenge. She is really Pippa, Francesca’s friend who was in love with Declan that she thought died that day. However, he didn’t and fate brings them together again even though he doesn’t realize who she really is.
Hie identity has been hinted at in previous books, but there was more to be discovered about Declan Chandler. A great mystery and an even better romance made it hard to put this book down. It can be read as stand-alone, but is even better when you’ve read the books leading up to this.
Thanks to the publisher for a review copy via NetGalley.
I loved this story!
It is the third book in the Devil You Know trilogy and it tied up the loose ends from the others in the series – it had a great storyline too!
This book was really well written and it had me hooked until the very end. The characters were excellent, very well developed and I loved the detail – there was some really great interaction too! The characters ‘played’ their parts well and turned the story in to a lovely romance that was full of hope and longing.
I thoroughly enjoyed reading it and it is another fabulous release from this author! It is 5 stars from me for this one, very highly recommended – loved it!
I requested to read and review this book from St. Martin Publishing Company. I loved this book will keep you guessing how things are going to go until the end. Francesca is strong and don't mess with her she will do whatever is necessary to protect the ones she loves. Chandler is chased by demons of the past. Its great to see what he can overcome if he wants to. This a powerful story about betrayal, sacrifice, love, mystery. And how about doing the right things came at a great price for some. Getting to read about them members of the Red Rogue Society will keep you on thr edge of your seat. This for a mature reader.
Definitely one of the best books I read this year. I read the previous books of this saga and I enjoyed them but THE DEVIL IN HER BED it's so far the BEST book I read by Kerrigan.
The two main characters are amazing, at times unlikable but extremely complex and interesting to read. Their chemistry is off the charts and when you start the book it's impossible to put it down.
An emotional rollercoaster ride. Spectacular. Words can't describe how much I enjoyed this story, I'll definitely re-read it.

Dos protagonistas super complejos y hasta tirando a antihéroe/heroína, marcados x la misma tragedia. Aditivo, el mejor libro de la autora, pasa a mi lista de "mejores segundas oportunidades". Espectacular.
The Devil in Her Bed is a solidly written historical romance. The characters were developed rather well and their romance was off the charts.
I received an advanced reader copy from the publisher via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own.
I seriously love all Kerrigan's books.. She could write just about anything, and I would rush to the store and buy it immediately. I have come to expect certain things from her: bad boy heroes, strong heroines, a mystery to solve, and lots of hot, hot sexual tension.
Francesca is one of my favorite heroines of Kerrigan. She has suffered so much from the loss of her family, and she has spent years trying to track down the men who murdered them in front of her. This leads her into contact with the Devil of Dorset who has as many secrets as Francesca does. It's a constant battle between them with him trying to tell Francesca what to do, and her basically not listening to a thing he says. In the end, they have a common enemy and they will need each other to defeat them.
This isn't my favorite book by her, but it is still a solid story. I guessed some parts of the plot while others were a complete shock to me. She always keeps me guessing while I am reading, and that is my favorite part of her books. They give you so much emotion while also keeping you thoroughly entertained. Francesca is strong, witty, a free spirit who has such a big heart, and she was the rock star of this book. The Devil of Dorset is also a fun character, but he could be a little frustrating because of how often he wanted to tell Francesca what to do. I am glad she basically told him to screw off, and to fall in line. I love watching how much she puts him in his place. It's always fun to catch up with characters from previous books too. I adored getting glimpses of both Alexandra, Cecilia, and their men.
My only negative would be sometimes that Kerrigan's purple prose can get excessive, and in this book it grated on my nerves for maybe ten percent of the book. She is fabulous though. She rocks it every time. If you are already a fan then I think you will adore this book like all her others. If you are new to Kerrigan. Please do not start with this book, and I would recommend reading the books in order to get the most out of them.
Yes yes yes! I was super hesitant the first few chapters, as while I loved the backstory I was hesitant to see how this series would play off. I should have known better.
The Devil of Dorset and Francesca Cavendish were meant to be and the backstory definitely did not disappoint with them.
I always recommend reading the books in order for a series and this one is no different, if you loved the first two you'll love this one too.
This book was not for me. I liked the first few chapters about Pippa. It was harsh, but I thought the premise was good. However, I didn't like the way the story went after that. Francesca annoyed me. It took em a while to figure out who all the characters were, but that might have been because I didn't read the rest of the series.
I received this book from Netgalley in return for a honest review.
I am slowly getting into more Historical Romance novels and I definitely think that this trilogy was the perfect one to get into as a first time HR reader! I think it is important to read from the beginning because they each continue to build on one another and in the end gives you such a great reading experience!
The Devil in Her Bed is the first book I have read by Kerrigan Byrne. I received an ARC for my honest opinion. In the opening chapters , I was introduced to Pippa, Lady Francesca and Declan Chandler. The Mont Clair massacre set the tone for the rest of the book. Twenty years later, Francesca and Chandler are trying to find out why the massacre happened and who was responsible. But there are many secrets that add to the intrigue. I enjoyed reading the mystery.
However, there are many references and interactions with Francesca’s friends, Alexandra and Cecilia —- commonly known as The Red Rogues because of their red hair. The three met at school and apparently a traumatic experience in their lives forged a “revenge” friendship. I have not read the first 2 books of the trilogy, so I was at a loss. One thing I have decided —- I WILL READ the first 2 books!
I recommend this book —- but read the first ones, too.
From the very beginning of this enchanting trilogy there have been hints to what Francesca’s secret may be. As we all know the the Red Rogues all hold their dark secrets and have only each other to trust and depend on. That is until they each meet their match, the men who are not only equal to them in strength and will but will do anything to protect them and keep them safe.
Francesca Cavendish lost her whole family in a brutal murder and is the sole survivor of the massacre that she witnessed. She is the Countess of Mont Claire and is on a mission to find the ones responsible, the Crimson Council, an underground group who seems to have members in the highest ranks of society and is just about untouchable. But she is also hiding a very big secret of her own and it seems there is someone from her past who knows it and is on a mission to expose it.
The Devil of Dorset goes by many names and many aliases. No one knows who he really is or anything about his past. He is a spy who never backs away from a fight or a mission and is on a mission to end the Crimson Council, a mission that is just as personal to him as it is to Francesca.
This is a story that spans decades and not only warms your heart with the promise of love ever after, but the chemistry and heat is so intense that it will literally burn your eyes- and singe itself into your fantasies.
Kerrigan Byrne does an amazing job of bringing to life strong and passionate heroines with heroes who aren’t intimated by them but are able to match them in every aspect. So sorry to see this trilogy come to an end but can’t wait to see what Byrne has in store for us next!
Thank you netgalley for providing this ARC in exchange for an honest review.
This historical novel was a lot darker than i expected. The author creates beautiful, tragic characters that survive a horrific, violent past that they vow to avenge. Devlin becomes obsessed with exposing Francesca while desiring her. She in turn leads a life of deception that once collides with Devlin, her world is not the same. While the romance and angst was 🔥, i felt Devlin did not allow himself to truly love and accept Francesca for who she truly was.
Overall, a novel worth reading.
The Devil in Her Bed is absolutely phenomenal! I am a big fan of Kerrigan Byrne and have read many of her books, and this time she has outdone herself. I fell in love with Declan and Pippa from the very beginning of the story and equally loved Chandler and Francesca. This story had me on an emotional rollercoaster-going from happy, to sad, to angry, to shock, and back around again. I never expected the twist at the end! What an awesome way to bring the whole story full circle! If you love deep, passionate historical romances, then you will adore this book! Keep them coming, Kerrigan Byrne! I can’t wait to read the next one!
Love Kerrigan Byrne! This series has been so lovely- sexy but also built on strong female friendships. This novel is based on secret identities, fear of the truth and family secrets. There is also a lot of action and danger in this series
