Holy cow this is an intense book of powerful emotions and deep secrets! I am emotionally wrung out and I stayed up too late to finish the book! I couldn't put it down.

Francesca Cavendish, Countess of Mont Claire is an orphan and pretender. She's the only one who survived the massacre at the Mont Claire estate in her childhood. She's really Pippa, a child of the estate's staff but she's taken her best friend's identity to enable her to to avenge everyone who were killed, especially her love Declan Chandler, a houseboy who saved her life. While at school she became one of the Red Rogues, sisters of the heart who support each other through thick and thin. She comes to the notice of The Devil of Dorset, a undercover spy & assassin for the government when he realizes they are crossing paths in their individual investigations of the the Crimson Council who appear to be responsible for the massacre.

The Devil of Dorset has many names and no one knows who he is. He's a driven man wholly absorbed in bringing down the Crimson Council. It is run by a triad and one of the members was arrested in the previous book. They know one spot was vacant at the time of his arrest and now he's after the head of the viper. He also knows Francesca from childhood and this woman doesn't fit his memories of the child he once knew and loved. This begins the dangerous and twisted story of how they fell in love and solved the mysteries of the past.

Dark but delicious read. Two people who were once friends are now reunited for the same purpose of revenge but they are no longer the same people. Francesca is one of most badass heroines I have read and willing to stop at nothing to get retribution. Chandler has died 2x and willing to do so again to seek vengeance for all he lost. A story of vengeance but also love, a tale of destruction and deceit but also redemption.

What a heart-pounding series ender! Action-packed and angsty with the signature Kerrigan Byrne evocative prose. Francesca is super badass and Chandler is worthy of her.

The Devil in Her Bed has elements of my favorite KB books—childhood love from The Highwayman and gender-swapped The Duke With the Dragon Tattoo—but is still fresh and owns distinct qualities. The imagery is lush and dramatic. Of the three in the Devil You Know series, this one is best suited for a cinematic adaptation.

The Devil in Her Bed is the last book in the Red Rogue series. Alexandra and Cecilia have found their happily-ever-afters and now it is Francesca's turn. Francesca's story has a little bit of revenge, suspense, and romance. She was the most mysterious of the girls so it was interesting to learn more about her. Her backstory was sad and seeing her take the reins to right the wrongs was fascinating. Girl was determined to do what she needed to do. The Devil of Dorset aka Chandler was so secretive. He had so many different identities and that came with his job. He was an intriguing character from his past to his present and peeling off his layers was fun. I liked the tit-for-tat that Francesca and Chandler gave each other. They were perfect together and seeing how their chemistry exploded as the story progressed was good. The mystery underlying the whole series was coming to a head and I couldn't wait to see what will happened. The friendship between Alexandra, Cecilia, and Francesca was strong and I loved how they supported and care for one another. I also loved how Alexandra's and Cecilia's partners, Piers and Ramsey respectively were there for her as well. They had a strong group. The story kept me glued to how it will all end. Overall this was a pleasant story. I did wish there was an epilogue to wrap things up though it was fine.

I absolutely enjoyed this outstanding book. Francesca is such an awesome character, she could do anything she put her mind to, so strong and flexible to any situation. I loved Chandler he is so very much a chameleon, he could adept to anything. I was so hooked throughout, I didn’t want to stop reading. I absolutely loved the bombshell that was dropped, just wow.

Don't you just love those secret service guys? I know I do to pieces. This one though has the name of the devil in part of his name and rightly so it would seem. Though when he is pitted against Francesca he will have a equal it would seem. In those days the thrill of the chase a bit different with the times having a bit more flair I do believe. This one will thrill you to no end as they come across each other with their own agenda but will it become one? Ahh the author does know when to tease and capture us as we turn the pages on this one as it heats up finding the secrets and the answers.

The Devil in Her Bed by Kerrigan Byrne is a daring novel of corruption surrounding the nobility in Victorian England, taking place in the late Victorian era, beginning when a gang descended upon Mont Claire estate in Hampshire one day, murdering all they could find and burning it to the ground. Pippa, the daughter of the butler and housekeeper, escaped with a Romani woman who worked on the grounds. As far as they new, no one else survived. At Serena's behest, Pippa became Francesca, the daughter of the house, who grew to be a beautiful heiress with nothing but revenge on her mind. At thirty she was getting old but still could b ring men to their knees and she had a reputation of doing just that. Many men had had her, but she used them to further her own plans: to determine who had attacked Mont Claire that day and killed all she loved.

An interesting plot, certainly different than any I've read before. She met a man, one with many faces, who seemed to know things about Francesca that no one else knew. She could not let him get in the way of what she had to do, despite that he seemed determined to do just that. This was, at its core, a love story, but it was so much more. It was a mystery, and not a bad one. Although not all the questions were answered enough were to satisfy the reader. It was lusty, in turns, barbaric and depraved. Could Chandler do his job and take care of Francesca at the same time? Could Francesca do what she needed to do and love Chandler? Lots of questions. Plenty of twists and turns to determine the answers. Terrific book. Very different, well-done plot. I recommend it.

The Devil in Her Bed is the third story of three school friends, each with a dark secret, and all sworn to keep the confidences and protect each other. This Francesca’s story. Francesca wants to find and take revenge on the Crimson Council, the people she has learned were responsible for the massacre of her family. Chandler, known as the Devil of Dorsett among other names, is after exactly the same thing. Their goal for revenge is not the only thing they have in common. A long time ago they knew each other as Declan Chandler and Pippa Hargrave.

This is an intense, unpredictable story of revenge. It is also a dark, emotional love story. The chemistry between Francesca and Chandler is strong, but the mistrust is just as strong. Their story is filled with danger, betrayal, deception, and secrets. So many lies and so much pain must be reconciled before they have a chance for their happily ever after. Our hero and heroine are not alone. The other two Red Rogues and their husbands are right there with them. There are more than enough villains to go around, but the man at the top of the Crimson Council is a shocking surprise. I recommend this exciting page turner.

Excellent ending to this exciting series. Great characters and storyline with so much emotion, intrigue, and steamy heat make this book, and series, well-worth reading. I loved Francesca and Chandler. Highly recommend.

Dual identities and vengeance.

Francesca, the Countess of Mont Clair is on the war path, wielding vengeance like an axe. She's more of a late Victorian age Batwoman on the hunt for the Crimson Council. She's wearing an assumed identity that allows her access to money and the people behind the massacre.

Declan Chandler, the Devil of Dorset is a spy, a chameleon, a rake and a rogue. He's got a Jones for Francesca.
They also share a bloody past as children. Its this shared past that has them assuming other people's identities (a familiar trope for Kerrigan Byrne).

This series is particularly filled with brittle women with traumatic pasts and the Duke and the Devil are particularly unsavory characters in this series (esp the Duke, he was infinitely more villain). Declan is more broken and held together by being many other people in addition to also assuming another person's identity. He uses men and women as marks.

They are actually working toward the same goal on the hunt for real villains.
Imposters, both.
Sizzle, suspense, a mystery and plenty of action abound.

Having not read the previous books in this series, the beginning of this story was a jaw-dropping shock factor, what a jolt. The intensity and suspense maintained throughout the story and I love that Pippa is a strong character, smart and determined. When the plot comes full circle into a true romance interest, I felt like all deceit and secrets made them both untrustworthy, regardless of their agendas and career obligations, it put a damper on the thrill for me. I really liked Pippa though and the ending was very heartwarming.

The Devil in Her Bed is the third book in the series. It was a fast-paced suspenseful read with an intriguing storyline. I was captivated by this wonderful story that pulled me in from the beginning and kept me riveted until the end.

The Devil in Her Bed is book #3 in the Devil You Know series. You can read it as a stand-alone story, although the main characters from the previous books show up along the story.
Francesca Cavendish, the Countess of Mont Claire, doesn't care about her reputation, being known as a femme fatale. However, while reading the book, we come to know that she keeps many secrets. One of them being that she only lives for the day she'll get revenge on the people who murdered her family and childhood friends twenty years ago.
And here comes the Devil of Dorset, a spy for the Crown and a man with as many secrets as Francesca. The two of them dance around each other in a dangerous, but exciting game.
I enjoyed the book, but I was frustrated with some important parts of the story which were solved too quickly and without the participation of the main characters. For example, the one related to the arrestment of one of the Crimson Council's leaders.

This is the third book in the Devil You Know Trilogy, a Dark Historical Romance. This is a series of interconnected stories, with intertwined characters, and an ongoing plot. The story is intricately well written. The main characters are both intriguing characters. She is strong, smart, brave, and capable. He is dark, and enigmatic. I like their powerful relationship. Their story is emotional, suspenseful, action packed, and captivating, filled with revenge, mystery, intrigue, and twists and turns. The cast of supporting characters is impressive, and they have an important part in this story. The world building is enthralling, and intricate. There is a lot going on in this story. This is a great conclusion to this trilogy. If you like Dark Historical Romance, this Series is for you.

This was one of my most anticipated releases of the year. Definitely my most anticipated historical. After absolutely loving the first 2 books in this series I was so sure that I would love this one too but I was unfortunately disappointed overall by the way this book turned out.

The biggest reason I was anticipating this book was how much I loved Francesca in the first two books. All three heroines in The Devil You Know series have tragic pasts and Francesca may even have the worst one. Her entire family and all the people she loved were killed. She was the only one who escaped and has made it her life mission since then to get vengeance for it. She is incredibly strong-willed, cunning, strategic, and all-around a pretty badass woman. I did really like her in this book, she is so willing to do anything for the people she loves and it is shown so obviously in her character.

Her love interest has many names but is known as The Devil of Dorset. He is a ghost able to hide in the background and change his persona with ease. He is incredibly drawn and attracted to Francesca. While also not believing she’s who she says she is.

I wanted to love the romance in this so badly but it fell flat for me. I didn’t believe their love for each other and it felt very much based on childhood fantasy that they had longed for, for twenty years. In reality, they knew almost nothing of each other except their lust. It’s hard for me to believe in a romance where for 80% of the book the hero thinks the heroine is someone else.

I had some trouble with the passing of the book as well. The beginning and ending while the most interesting parts of this book for sure both felt very rushed. The characters were making out by page 30 and still knew very little about each other on page 300. The middle felt very slow. Then everything wraps up very easily in the last 50 pages. I did however enjoy the mystery even though the reveals were pretty easy to guess.

Overall, this book was fine. I just expected more from Kerrigan who has given me so many, epic, tragic, heart-wrenching, 5-star love stories in the past.

Francesca had to see things when she was so young that your heart hurts for her from minute one. She had to make changes and sacrifices. The Earl of Devlin has to remake himself young as well, and is witness to the same things that Francesca is exposed to as a young boy, but also dealt with his own issues prior to that. Though both these young people lose contact with each other for so long they don't recognize each other when they meet again. 

The reunion without them knowing it is one helps them explore the chemistry between them, but they both have grave secrets they don't want anyone to know. The excitement and intrigue that happens in the book adds so much more to it than just two characters falling in love. I have enjoyed every single one of these books as they are filled of adventure and strong women.

This is a difficult book to rate. On the one hand, Francesca was just plain awesome. That girl has skills. Nothing stopped her from getting her vengeance. She mastered almost every situation she was in and was just fun to read about. Chandler was also a great, dark, tormented hero. The writing was poetic and moving. But the plot...was little bizarre. I'm still not even sure why exactly the bad guy had the estate burned down to begin with. Its also not explained how this bad guy knew Francesca's real identity.

Which brings me to Chandler's reaction when he found out the truth. I understand being shocked and angry about being misled, but he had like a dozen identities himself and had kept a lot of things from Francesca. Then he just changes his mind after a talk with Ramsay after two months have gone by. It took him two months to finally realize that he loved her even though she was Pippa. After everything that Pippa had gone through and achieved, she deserved better than that. Part of me wished she gave him a harder time at the end.

Overall this book was enjoyable and great conclusion to this trilogy. I liked seeing the other Red Rogues and their men (I LOVE Ramsay!) and it would've been nice to see them all together at the end interacting instead of just Francesca's telling of their presence. In the end, I decided to round up to 4*, because this book did make me feel a range of emotions, and because Pippa/Francesca deserved it.

LOOOOOOOVED IT!! Kerrigan Byrne has a way of writing female characters that I am obsessed with. Francesca had me hooked from page one. She’s clever, brave and witty. Her secret quest of vengeance is definitely not common for a woman and it just made me love her more.

I really enjoyed the sexy, slow burn feeling of this one. It’s a suspenseful read with great chemistry and rich dialogue. I definitely recommend.
