Book 7 in the DI Jackman and DS Evans series. Another fantastic read, this series just keeps getting better and better! Such unusual storyline, totally gripped from the first page to the last ! Highly recommend
I absolutely loved this installment in the series. Orac is a fascinating character, and her relationship with Jackman is always amusing to observe. Her disappearance had me legitimately worried, and the storyline of the urban explorers was also quite interesting. I would say, though, that my favorite part of each book is being part of Jackman‘s and Marie’s lives and watching how things unfold for them personally. Ms. Ellis certainly has a gift of bringing characters to life. I look forward to each of her releases — she is a prolific writer, but I don’t think she can ever write quickly enough for her myriad of fans!
This book was very entertaining and to me the concept was unique and fresh which is hard to find these days with thrillers and crime novels
I want to thank Netgalley and the author for gifting me the ebook. A good murder mystery. Perfect for Halloween Month 🎃.
Great plot to get yourself lost in. This book has everything. A real fast paced thriller. Will get your heart racing on more than one occasion. Very well written. Highly recommend this book
They Disappeared by Joy Ellis is the seventh book in the fantastic Jackman and Evans series., and these are one of my favourite teams!!! Yet, another winner that kept me gripped from start to finish. Looking forward to more in this series.
I highly recommend all of Joy Ellis books they are all 5 star reads
Many thanks to Netgalley, Joffe Books and Joy Ellis for providing a copy to review
An entertaining and well written thriller. I enjoyed it very much.
Thank you to NetGalley and to the publisher for the opportunity to read this.
Another great jackman and Evans thriller with an intriguing storyline. Loved the mix of the two main stories and how they were brought to a conclusion
Great book. Highly recommend and will most defiantly read more by this author and suggest to others!
I love Joy Ellis and was so happy to get the ARC for this one. It's such a good read with likable characters that kept you guessing throughout the entire book.
I will fo sure be picking up anything Joy has written.
this was a great mystery novel, the mystery itself was well done and it kept me on the edge of my seat the whole time. The characters were great and I enjoyed going on this journey.
DI Rowan Jackman and DS Marie Evans are brought in to investigate a series of 3 missing urban explorers while looking around abandoned buildings. At the same time, their IT Director, Orla Cracken (known and Orac) has gone AWOL, which is very out of character. Orac makes contact with Marie who has to help decipher the reason behind Oracs disappearance.
The bodies of the missing urban explorers are discovered, with another now missing. The race is on for Jackman and team to find out who is behind this killing spree.
An enjoyable crime thriller, as 7th in the series, a great fondness has built up for the characters, but can also be read as a standalone.
Loved this one! So easy to read and lots of twists and turns along the way. Definitely a quick read and one I recommend.
A solid mystery that kept me guessing. I liked the storytelling and the fleshed out characters.
Recommended.
Many thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for this ARC, all opinions are mine
Another excellent book from Joy Ellis. The Jackman and Evans series always has something new to give and I love the way it ties in with the Fen books. Highly recommended.
DI Jackman and his team are in the midst of a baffling case. So called urban explorers, young people who like to photograph abandoned or ruined buildings, are disappearing without a trace. They are also distracted due to the disappearance of one of their own. Nobody knows much about IT expert Orac and what they discover leaves them reeling.
There were just a couple of anomalies for me in this book. Firstly Donegal is not part of Northern Ireland. Secondly it would be very unlikely that a girl with a name like Ciara O'Dwyer would be groomed from her schooldays by British Intelligence for a position as an agent. Other than that I loved the book.
I very much enjoyed this book. It has a good story and excellent main characters. I would definately recommend this book.
Another enjoyable read from Joy Ellis! Number seven in the Jackman & Evans series, this book can be read without the others but I would recommend reading them all, and from the beginning, which is what I NOW plan to do 😉 I enjoyed this crime thriller with its short chapters and easy flow. It certainly kept me turning the pages to find out what was happening next and who was doing all the killing and why. I'd recommend this book!
Thanks to the publisher, author, and NetGalley for a copy of this book to review.
Brilliant book .. loved it from the very first page, and it felt like I was reading out an amazing series on the TV.
Well put together, with likeable characters.
This is my first book by this author and it won't be my last
Thank you Netgalley and Publisher for ARC
Firstly I must say that this is the first of the series I have read (this is number 7) BUT I don't feel that it impacted on the story at all, I found it quite easy to read as a stand alone!
This is definitely a roller coaster story, full of twist and turns and jam packed with all the info you need to full immerse yourself in the world of Jackman & Evans.
I really enjoyed the authors writing style, straight to the point and totally immersive. The character execution was fantastic and the scene settings mind blowing, I could so clearly picture the abandoned buildings and Churches.
The team dynamics were fantastically written, as a first time reader of this series I loved learning a little of their backstories.
The whole plot was well paced and the storyline of urbexers (urban explorers) was surprisingly interesting and obviously well researched.
The suspense starts right from the first page and had me hanging on right until the end.
Huge thanks to netgalley and Joffe Books for the ARC.
