This has been on my TBR for several years now, and I can’t seem to make myself finish it. I’m sorry! I’m sure someone will love it, but it just isn’t for me.
I want to thank Netgalley and the author for gifting me the ebook. A cute Christmas romcom. Perfect for those who love Hallmark type stories.
Lovely feel good book to read. It was a joy to read. Lovely characters. Great plot. The book was charming. Very well written. I’d definitely recommend this book. Idyllic location that set the tone of the book to perfection. Perfect seasonal book to get you in the mood for the festive season.
I was given a free ARC for my review on NetGalley. This story is a unique take on the traditional romance novel with role-reversals.This book has potential to be made into a Hallmark Movie.
Perfect to snuggle up with and feel festive
I just wish the snow came with the book!
A lovely read

Snowed In was a pretty cute holiday book to dive into. Especially after just completing a series that basically sucked my soul out of me. So this was definitely a book that I needed today. Even though it's May, I still love to dive into holiday books and movies whenever I can. They tend to be little boosts of happiness for me because they are just so lighthearted and fly by.
As for this one, it was a bit emotional in a good way. Which might be weird to say in a review but it honestly was. I liked the characters a lot and the story that they told. They definitely had cute moments. Especially when it came to Andrew and his kids. They were freaking adorable and I wouldn't even be surprised if this become a Hallmark or Lifetime movie.
Besides Andrew, Emma was equally adorable in her own. They had really cute banter throughout the book which definitely gave me joy. Plus, their chemistry was instant but likable. They just seemed to genuinely like one another. I'll even admit that some things were predictable.. like all things holiday related but I still ended up enjoying it all.
In the end, this was a really cute book to dive into and I'm so glad that I found the time to do so!
Jessica Calla delivered a truly heartwarming Christmas romance in Snowed In. I just finished the book and I enjoyed every bit of it. Emma Ballard and Andrew Mooney are two people who are just going through the motions of life and just getting by. Andrew and Emma have a chance meet after Emma is stranded after a snow storm and they are thrown into each other’s worlds when Andrew takes Emma home.
From the start they have great chemistry and you can tell from their interaction in each other’s vastly different worlds that something is missing in their lives. For Emma, she’s without family and Andrew has been a single father for the past 6 years, he’s missing out on having an other half, someone to share outings with, to experience parenthood with in a new light. They struggle to come to terms with what this relationship could mean and it takes some outside encouragement, from friendly nudges to career changes, to set them on the right path.
This story was great! I enjoyed their attempts at tiptoeing around what their relationship really was and it was nice to see their feelings grow. The whole story was warm and homey. It wasn’t too dark but had some depth to it. The romance was light and clean and it was really nice to see them take into account the children when they considered their relationship. I enjoyed Emma’s “viper” attitude when she was being a boss but I also loved that she was a kind and humble person. Andrew had a tough time at first with having a biased opinion of Emma but he soon learned who the true Emma was. He had a lot of internal conflicts to get through and it with the help of great supportive characters he was able to put aside his fears and move on. Overall, this story was great! A great clean and wholesome Christmas romance. Would definitely recommend.

A sweet Christmas romance that was a quick and enjoyable read. That was a great read for reading to escape.
Thank you to Netgalley and Jessica Calla for my copy of Snowed In, for an honest review. I started this book in mid-January and from the start I was right back in a Christmas mood. This was such a cute, quick read. I couldn’t help losing myself in the love story of Emma and Andrew and a series of snow storms that keep them snowed in. Emma is a former super model and is the CEO of her fathers business. For five years she works very hard to honor the memory of her father & honor the wishes he had for it. She is up against a Board, that makes it difficult to run, they watch every move she makes, as if they hope she fails. Emma just can’t seem to build the life she dreams of.. until she meets Andrew. He is a supervisor for IT, for the same company. By chance they meet at a The company Holiday party and it is attraction at first site.. a series of snow storms keeps them snowed in together and they find themselves falling for each other.. but there are so many obstacles that seem to make it impossible to be together. The author does a great job of developing the characters and piecing the story together. The NY City as the setting is excellent.. Using the sites and sounds of the Holiday to tell the story.. I really did like this story and think you would too. Especially if you love a good love story. This was a four star read for me. I have recommended this to friends and have featured it on my Instagram page. I really do hope you like it as much as I did..
Snowed In is an entertaining and well written romance. Great character dynamics. Romance readers will enjoy this book. I received an advance ebook from the publisher and Netgalley and this is my unbiased review.
I was surprised that none of these books were recent releases. It appears all of them were from 2018 even thought I just got it at NetGalley in December 2020. Aside from that, none of these novellas worked for me so I will not be rating it at Amazon or Goodreads. I just didn't care for the writing style of any of them although the premise was good [all based around a small town Christmas].
SNOWED IN by Jessica Calla was just the right read for the season. Reluctant CEO Emma Ballard and nerdy single-dad Andrew Mooney first meet when Emma gets snowed in at Andrew's place. The romance starts out quiet but only heats up from there. Too bad Andrew is Emma's employee and a relationship is against corporate policy. This story has all the magic of a holiday romance in NYC.
A sweet holiday read with an ex-model turned CEO and a widowed father of twin girls.
Emma works hard to prove she's worthy of her inherited position and that's left her a bit lonely and an undeserved rep.
Andrew works in IT and only knows what the grapevine says about her until they meet by chance after the Holiday party.
An easy read with no major dramas, all the festivities feels, and a prompt HEA.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book received from the publisher via NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
This was a delightful romance set in snowy New York with a twist on the usual storyline, having CEO Emma fall for one of her employees. Emma is quirky and sweet and Andrew is an adorable, sometimes clueless dad of twins whose heart is in the right place. Snow is falling, and they both have to decide if they will let the chill of it or the beauty of it affect their choices when it comes to falling in love.
Thank you to Netgalley and Champagne Book Group for my e-ARC gifted copy of "Snowed In" in exchange for an honest review!
'Tis the season for cute Christmas books, and Snowed In does NOT disappoint. Meet Emma, an ex-supermodel, who inherited her family's clothing empire, and is now the acting CEO. Emma is a boss in the board room, and rules the streets of New York City, but is lonely. Her closest friend lives across the country, and her life seems to be at a standstill, until she bumps (quite literally) into Andrew after a company party. Andrew works in the IT department at Emma's company, and notices she is unequipped to get home in the snow, and offers his assistance. Although they may have had a meet-cute beginning, they are from two very different worlds. Andrew is a young widower, with two small twin girls, who makes ends meet but works to live, not lives to work. Will these two be able to make it work despite their differences?
I will say, moving past the supermodel AND CEO component, this Christmas love story is one of the more "believable" and relatable stories I have read this season. The main characters have relatable issues, that actually affect their relationship, and I can relate wholeheartedly to many of their obstacles.
*MILD SPOILER AHEAD* I will say, the ending was very rushed and I wish that the author hadn't sped up the timeline to give us so much of the "happily ever after" and perhaps left a bit more to the imagination.
All in all, it was a lovely holiday read, that I would most definitely recommend - it put me in the Christmas spirit, and made me miss New York City at Christmastime SO MUCH!
It snowed so hard after the Christmas Party that Emma, CEO of Ballard Industries, agreed to spend the night at the home of one of her IT guys. It did not take long for her to fall in love with Andrew, his father, and his 6-year-old twin daughters. Andrew loved his wife who died after childbirth. He still feels a loyalty to her. Emma got burned by a photographer who was married and not only stole her heart but a lot of her money. There is a connection between Andrew and Emma, encouraged by the neighborhood barber, Emma’s best friend, and Andrew’s father and girls. This is a great book about love, loss, family and trust.
"Snowed In" is a sweet Christmas romance guaranteed to warm up the coldest of hearts. It's the story of Emma Ballard, retired supermodel turned CEO, who begins to develop feelings for an employee at the company, Andrew Mooney, an IT supervisor at their New Jersey branch, a widower of 6-year-old twin girls. The book was a breeze to get through but I ended up having to skim the last quarter of the novel. At that point, it felt like the conflicts had been resolved and were being dragged out. I also was not crazy about certain phrases that were overused, like 'for realises' and 'boss lady.' I thought they were cute once or twice but to see them on every page..
Snowed In by Jessica Calla
This book was a cute heartwarming Christmas read. Andrew is a single father of twin girls. He helps Emma (the CEO of the company that he works for) get out of the storm after one of their company parties. She can’t travel back to NYC from New Jersey in the weather so she ends up staying at his house.
Their romance was very sweet, and all of their reasons for fighting it were very believable. I loved how much Emma loved his girls and quickly they developed a special relationship. However, the title is a little misleading. There were a couple times that they were together because of the weather, but they weren’t ever actually snowed in together.
4 stars

Thank you to NetGalley and Champagne Book Group for kindly providing me with a digital copy of this book for review.
I love a Christmas book set in New York. I’ve never made it there yet, so until I do, I live the New York experience precariously through these stories.
This one follows the single dad trope- with the sophisticated lady CEO entering their lives and a sweet and heartfelt romance ensues.
This story flows very well and I definitely felt an emotional connection to our lead characters.
The book also seemed very well designed with very cute snowflake page breaks would and a lovely Christmas present for the romance reader in your life.
