This book was easy to follow, I have never really done yoga before but was glad that this book was useful for me.
Thank you for the opportunity to review this book. I"ll be recommending it to students in my yoga teacher training and graduate courses.
There is so much here. I think this is a reference book that you can return to again and again. I would recommend a hard copy, as opposed to digital (which is what I have), so it can be accessed without the imposition of a screen. The screen feels intrusive to me when trying to learn a practice of rest and relaxation.
“Radiant Rest” by Tracee Stanley is a timely and critical read. The worldwide coronavirus pandemic has created what’s being called a “second pandemic” of insomnia, aptly dubbed “coronasomnia.” Tracee’s book is a reminder that rest is our right, and explores how we can rise above the oft-glamorized grind culture by using the restorative practice of yoga nidra. Tracee is just as refreshing and radiant as the practices she teaches, and this book is a must-read for anyone feeling burned out or exhausted right now.
Radiant Rest is the book you need to find peace in the messy busyness of life!
Following the teaching of Yoga Nidra (Nidra which means sleep) this practice is maybe the most relaxing form of yoga I've ever found....
You literally just lay on the ground, cozy blanket on for as long as you want and reach for rest in the space between mediation and sleep. For intermediate yogis there's so much more involved to finding that magical space that is discussed in the book, but this practice can be beneficial to any yogi.
It's intentional rest and that's different from sleep because you are carving time out of your day to let your body be still. 🧘♀️ You are focused on the peace of right now.
Today I did a guided Yoga Nidra meditation I found on Youtube and it was the most I felt like I had slept in weeks!! I can't wait to explore this book more and get the physical copy when it comes out in March!!

"When we practice yoga nidra, we not only experience the power of deep rest and relaxation, but we get to wake up to our essential nature, one that's filled with radiance and bliss."
