I mean, it's pretty self-explanatory, and what more could you want? The perfect coffee table book for a queer cat-owner, of course.

I love a good coffee table book and Queer Icons and Their Cats is an awesome addition to my collection.

Alison Nastasi and PJ Nastasi put together an interesting menage of artists, some I didn’t even know were queer. I think I love the older photos the most. Anthony Perkins' photo is really arty and fun. Josephine Baker’s picture is with a tiger(?) and is staged intimacy. Ramon Navorro’s portrait is from the studio and is beyond cute. I love the curiosity displayed by Đebo with Mima Simić.

There are casual images, posed, and studio prints. The biographies are interesting and worth bookmarking to talk about with others.

I am so happy that I get to see my love of cats along with my fellow queers celebrated.

I loved this! I need to buy physical copies for myself and all my friends. Queer folk and cats--what's not to love?

As it say on the tin this was a book full of photos of Queer Icons and their feline furbabies. Perfect for a nosy cat lover and a great insight into celebrity cat lovers.
Good mix of media, I will always want more pictures but this book was very balanced which worked in its favour.
Some interesting facts and quotes and a good coffee table book.

The cats and the icons in this book are amazing, inspiring, and gorgeous.
This is a great read for anyone, and sure to inspire great conversations about the icons, their cats, and what they've done to bring even more to the world.

Fascinating concept, because I love both queer icons as well as cats. A niche book that would look good on the coffee table. A real conversation starter.

I received an arc of this title from NetGalley for an honest review. Interesting book with Queer Icons and their cats. How could you go wrong.

As a cat lover and a queer person, this book spoke to me on a spiritual level. I loved the great selection of artists and performers featured within the pages from classic silent movie heart throbs to current comedians. It was great to hear about people who were familiar and to see them in a new lense through their relationships with their cats. Even more though I enjoyed hearing about queer icons that I hadn’t encountered before, learning about new people to read about further (easy to do with the handy booklist included in the back of the book.)

Perfect coffee table book for fans of queers, cats, or both together.

It’s self explanatory. Queer Icons and Their Cats are really queer icons and their cats. We’ve got Chaz Bono, Elton John, Freddie Mercury, James Baldwin, Jujubee and so many more. It’s more of something to buy and keep it on top of a coffee table if you know what I mean— like them fashion magazines. Still enjoyed it.

Queer Icons and their Cats by Alison Nastasi & PJ Nastasi

Snapshots and brief biographical sketches of new and well known queer icons…with their furry feline friends. This book has forty or more personalities with even more cats photographed with them. I met authors, musicians, artists, actors, poets, philosophers, film critics, models, directors…and more and all love and adore their pets just as their cats love their humans. Great for a coffee table, as a gift for a cat loving queer friend, or for anyone interested in a glimpse into the lives of any or all of the people in this book.

Thank you to NetGalley and Chronicle Books for the ARC – This is my honest review.

4-5 Stars

The title says it all: you have these queer icons past and present, they are photographed with their cats, and you get a little story to go along with the picture.

I have a bookshelf at home populated with books about cats, this one has definitely earned its placed among those titles.

An interesting coffee table book about famous LGBT people and their relationships with felines. Some of the pictures are delightfully beautiful.

A beautiful coffee table style book. I liked the variety in icons featured and learning more about their relationships with their cats. The cover photo is absolutely gorgeous too! I will certainly be giving this one as a gift in the future.

I was super excited about this coffee table book and it is more or less what it promised. I loved the photos, but the text was fairly boring at times. I ended up skimming the second half of the book. It'd be great to keep on your coffee table and flip through occasionally, but don't sit down to read the whole thing at once. It felt like different people wrote the different mini bios. Overall, it was okay. It'd definitely be a fun conversation starter to have at home though!

Thank you to NetGalley and Chronicle Books for providing me with an e-arc of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Great book for cat lovers and people who love biographies!
It's a short, easy read, and I found it refreshing to see queer lives represented in a more airy, lighthearted perspective than usual! I think it is a great opportunity to introduce queer people, and then readers can search more in depth to anyone they get interested with.
This book has a 1 page biography of a queer person (a mix of some historic people and contemporary people), talking about their life and how they link to the queer community, and OF COURSE talking about the cats (mostly the tiny cats, but there are others!) in their life! Alongside this biography there is one photograph of said icon and accompanying feline.

Rating: 4/5 stars.

“Queer Icons and Their Cats” by Alison Natasi and PJ Natasi is a book celebrating LGTBQIA+ celebrities and their feline companions. This book also serves as a great introduction to LGBTQIA+ history, with the introduction providing a brief overview of related historical figures and human rights movements. I loved that the authors included celebrities of different nationalities and occupations, from singers, to artists, to actors. I just wish there were more photos of the cats! There was only one photo per person, and a few did not have any photos at all. Overall, I loved this book and I would recommend it to everyone, especially fans of cats.
