The first thing I noticed was the stunning cover. Would truly be beautiful on any shelf! Beyond that, the maturity of the story line surprised me as a play on the princess and the frog, but it was pleasantly mature a good for a range of audiences. With its present day time period I found myself relating more to it than I thought I would have. Caterina and Rahul were good characters and they were likeable. I’d like to see more complexity in some of the characters but overall I really enjoyed it.
Disclaimer: I got this ARC in exchange for an honest review. Review will be up on June 8th.
I loved the first book in the series and this book is just as good!! It's a retelling of The Frog Prince with Indian characters!! I loved Sandhya's take on it and Rahul is my favorite protagonist. I will be doing an in-depth review by June 8th!
I honestly love and relate to Rahul so much, socializing is HARD and definitely doesn’t come naturally to me. I also appreciated the character development from Caterina, saw a glimpse of potential in the first book and am glad it was expanded on. I enjoyed the magical realism aspect much more in the first book but this was still a wholesome cutesy read and I can’t wait for DE’s story.
