Sandra Owens returns with one her military novels that combine romance, mystery and thrills, although this one has a bit of a different twist. Jack Daniels is an injured Navy SEAL who is recovering from and IED incident along with his military working dog Dakota. The addition of a dog to her storyline is something that adds warmth to an already great read. Jack meets Nicole, they fall in love and that should be it. However, as usual Ms Owens has some twists and turns to keep the reader on edge. I was given this book as an ARC in exchange for an honest review and I can honestly say I loved it. Waiting eagerly for the next in the series.
This book is definitely a solid 3.5 stars for me. But really - any book that includes dogs (rescue dogs or military dogs being a special bonus - this book has both) gets an automatic 1/2 star bump from me! Jack is a Navy Seal home in Asheville, North Carolina, with his service dog Dakota on medical leave from his SEAL team recovering from a serious injury to both him and Dakota. He's bored and at loose ends when a woman drunk dials him and yells at him for how he did her wrong. Jack effectively stalks the woman to find out who she is and where she works after he sees her picture on social media. He coughs up the truth pretty quickly - but not until they are on their first date and have already connected pretty seriously. Nichole is an artist who has just adopted a rambunctious dog who needs some serious training. She takes Jack up on his offer to help train her pup - even in the face of a slew of bad relationships including one guy who is refusing to let go.
This story takes a lot of turns and twists - a couple of which were left a little bit hanging (the plotline about her lost commission for example, why Jack blacked out after the fight with Nichole's ex, and the fact that her brother just happens to be a video game designer whiz - but never told anyone) - but it definitely kept my interest.
Overall - this is a good read and worth the time especially for dog lovers! I'd recommend this for fans of Susan Stoker.
I received this as an ARC from NetGalley, but these opinions are all my own.
Great read!!! Jack and Nichole have some serious chemistry from the moment they meet. Jack is rehabbing from an injury and Nichole is getting over a string of bad relationships. One which is turning into a stalker. He offers to help train her dog and from there the relationship takes off. This book had me on edge a few times but was also super steamy!!! Great read now I have to go back and read Deke's book!!!
Absolutely loved this book! From the hilarious moments with Grammie and Mary to the incredible chemistry of jack and Nichole -this book truly has it all. Rounding out the cast are the incredible animals and their own “personalities”. This book isn’t just about an amazing cast of characters- it’s about an incredible couple finding their way to their HEA. AWESOME book!
K9 Brothers, is packed with suspense, tension, life altering circumstances, and of course romance. With a nearly broken Navy SEAL, a dynamic and sparkling Pottery Artist, their chemistry was subtle, yet captivating. From their first meeting, the couple pulled at my heartstrings...I found myself immersed in their at times bumpy journey, and also thoroughly enjoying the K9 characters as well.
With a strong message of the military men and women who return from service to our country, and meeting their needs in acclimating to life outside of service, it’s not difficult to loose yourself in the story.
This ARC book was complimentary, provided by the Publisher and NetGalley. I am voluntarily providing my honest review.
Operation K-9 Brothers, is a wonderful book. I didn't expect the surprising twist that it had. The dogs were an extra special bonus.
Great book!! I really enjoyed reading this one!! This book had intrigue, suspense , action, drama, and was really hot!! Lol it also had heartbreak and heartache !! It kept me interested the whole book! I highly recommend reading this book! Its well worth the read! Thank you Netgalley and the publishers for sharing this book with me!
Loved this book! This is a great start to a new series that already has me looking forward to the next book in the series. Jack is a SEAL recovering from a debilitating injury when he meets Nichole, a potter and new puppy mom. Her puppy is somewhat behaviorally challenged, and Jacks offers to help when he rescues her from the puppy running circles around her.
I loved how Nichole and Jack's relationship developed - it was sweet, fun, and sexy. Their story was engaging and entertaining. The author tackled a tough topic with sensitivity and respect. I only pray that our injured military get the benefit of the trained K-9s they need.
If you are a fan of the genre, you will love this book. While it is part of a series, this is a stand alone novel. The author is on my must read authors' list.
This book is a great start to the
new series, Operation K9 Brothers.
It's an intriguing, moving, sexy
& heartfelt romance with wonderful characters & dogs you cannot
get enough of. Captivated me from
page one. I did not want it to end.
After being drunk dialed early one
morning, Jack's life will never be
the same. Nichole, has the worst
taste in men. (If you can call them that)
That is until a tall, gorgeous stranger walked into her life.
I loved everything about this story!
Can't wait for Book 2!
A Definite Must Read!!
