I wasn't sure going into this novel, but I enjoyed it. I think it was because I wasn't in the mood for it, and sometimes that can affect my ability to enjoy the book. But no need to worry when Hannon is involved. Her writing style always grabs my attention!
I received a complimentary copy of this book. I was not required to write a favorable review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Netgalley and Revell sent me a copy of Blackberry Beach in exchange for my review:
Katherine Parker has everything she ever wanted: fame, money, and acclaim. Why isn't she happy? She visits Hope Harbor on the Oregon coast incognito in search of answers. Maybe she can calm the storm inside her secluded rental house overlooking the Pacific.
Zach Garrett has found his niche as a coffee shop owner after a traumatic loss--and he doesn't plan to change it. In addition, he doesn't want to get involved with his mysterious new neighbor. A lifetime of drama is enough for him. Katherine and Zach are asked to rehab a home for foster children. Could they discover more common ground than they expected as their lives intersect . . . and that, with love, anything is possible?
I give Blackberry Beach five out of five stars!
Happy Reading!
Katherine goes to a small town in Oregon hiding her identity and hoping that no one notices her from the tabloids. Zach gives up his job where he's moving up the corporate ladder to own a coffee shop in this small town. The relationships intertwine with everyone in the town and watching four people struggle for their identity and what they want out of their life.
I enjoyed the read and it was quick and light.
Thank you #NetGalley for the advance copy!
A woman with secrets and a man determined to uncover them. I loved the return to Irene Hannon's world.
This was a lovely story that came together well. This was a sweet and clean read, I'd rate PG for kissing.
Blackberry Beach was a great read. At the end of each chapter, I wanted to know what would happen next and what Katherine was going to decide to do. I wish Hope Harbor wasn’t fictional because I want to move there. Ha! Zach was a dream lead male character. This was the first book I’ve read from Irene Hannon and it won’t be the last. After reading it, I saw this is book #7 in the series, but I enjoyed it as if it was a standalone. Warning: this book will make you want blackberries and chocolate!
I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions in this review are my own.
I want to thank Netgalley and the author for gifting me the ebook. A good Christian drama. Highly recommend.
Amazingly fantastic book about fear, change, family, love, and new beginnings. Wonderfully written with superb characters that will become fast friends. Sit a spell with your favorite comfy blanket and enjoy a good read along with a nice cup of hot chocolate.
I was given an ebook ARC by Netgalley and this is my voluntary, honest review.
Loved reading this book and author. If you haven't read it yet I highly recommend her books. Happy reading
If you are in the mood for a sweet Christian Romance book, look no further. Blackberry Beach is the 7th book in Irene Hannon’s Hope Harbor series. The book can be read without reading the others. This was my first book by Ms. Hannon. Normally, I do not read romance novels, but found this book enjoyable. I was looking for a light and uplifting read.
Thank you #NetGalley, # BakerPublishingGroup and # IreneHannon for the advance reader’s copy for my honest review.
This is the first Irene Hannon novel I've gotten and it was very cozy! I love a cozy romance, and the fact that it takes place in Oregon, where I live, was so great!
This is a stand-alone but I recognize some of the characters from prior books. An amazing, well written book you won’t want to miss.
I loved this story. The two main characters, Zach Garrett and Katherine Parker, have compelling personal stories. Katherine is searching for peace of heart and mind and direction for her future. Zach has given up a successful career in the business world to finding the career he really loves—-running his coffee shop. Both have suffered great loss that has affected their viewpoints of what they see as important in life. I came to care about both of these characters. It’s a wonderful story of faith and hope.
I received a copy of this book from the publisher. All opinions are my own.
It is always exciting to keep my hands on a new book from Irene Hannon's series Hope Harbor. Blackberry Beach does not disappoint. I loved it!
I love Irene Hannon novels. There’s just something about a small seaside town and romance that just feels so cozy. However, Zach’s character didn’t feel like he was as young as he said he was. His dialogue and the way he presented himself seemed to remind me more of an older man, like things my grandpa would say and do. I enjoyed the side story of Zach’s aunt and his barista, Frank. But Frank bothered me a little because he was very judgmental of Stephanie. And of course we can’t forget Charley, the ever present fixture of the community. I always enjoy his character and the talk of his fish tacos always give me a craving!
Thank you to the publisher for my gifted copy in exchange for an honest review.
I always feel like I'm right there with the characters in Hope Harbor. This is the story of Zach and Catherine, Zach is the local coffee shop owner who learned that you need to slow down and enjoy life and Catherine is the new in town neighbor who grew up in Hope Harbor but went off to be a superstar but now she has come home for respite and healing. As always the regular cast of characters makes an appearance too and they are my favorites,
Charley, Floyd, and Gladys and the Pastor and the Priest. The characters are always very believable. If it was a real town I would want to vacation there.
Absolutely loved Blackberry Beach and Irene Hannon's writing. I had to go back and read all I could find of her other books. I am now a fan!
I thought this was a beautiful story of how, sometimes, we have to follow our hearts to find happiness and joy.
Katherine Parker was a moderately successful actress in Hollywood. She had become dissatisfied with the direction of her career. When tragedy struck, she needed some peace and solitude and found herself in Hope Harbor, Oregon, a small community on the coast of Oregon. She hoped to stay under the radar and take some time to regroup and decide her next move. Then she was noticed by the owner of the successful coffee shop in town, Zach Garrett. She was drawn to him while also feeling the need to remain anonymous and unattached.
Zach Garrett had been a up-and-coming star in the finance world until that fast pace lost its appeal when he lost his younger brother. He stepped away from the career to follow his dream of owning and running a successful coffee shop where people would come to find peace and happiness. He didn't regret that decision but hadn't made time in his life for a romantic relationship and hadn't really had the desire until he saw the beautiful brunette in his place of business. He was instantly drawn to her and even after being rebuffed continually, he felt a connection.
It took me four days to read this book, which is unusual for me. I usually plow through the books I read but this one made me want to linger a little longer and absorb the story and connect with the characters. I wasn't disappointed. There are several happy endings included in this story. This author is new to me so I haven't read the other books in the series but I look forward to reaching their stories, as well. I also appreciated that this story was a clean read, free of graphic sex details and foul language.
I was given an arc copy of this book and I willingly offer my honest review.
In this newest installment of Irene Hannon's Hope Harbor series, readers meet actress Katherine Parker and coffee shop owner Zach Garrett. Katherine has retreated to the quaint town of Hope Harbor, Oregon to escape the limelight and paparazzi after the unexpected death of a co-star. Despite the news that she's been offered a starring role in an A-List movie, however, Kate begins to question whether a fast-paced life in Hollywood is really where she belongs. Having left a lucrative career behind after the death of his brother, Zach has finally found peace running a coffee shop in Hope Harbor. When he meets his mysterious new neighbor on their shared beech, sparks immediately fly. Will he have the courage to give his heart to a woman who might return to her old life at any minute? Will Kate manage to figure out what she wants in life? Would Zach potentially be a part of that equation?
As per my expectations going in, Blackberry Beach reads like a classic Hallmark movie. Zach was perfectly swoon worthy as the small-town hunk, and Katherine was both relatable and likable. Having read several of Hannon's other Hope Harbor novels, I also enjoyed getting to check in on some of my favorite characters. This particular story, however, does stand on its own for those unfamiliar with Hope Harbor, Oregon. (Just a note: if you're looking for my favorite of the series, start with Sandpiper Cove!) Was the plot predictable? Yes. Don't expect many twists, turns, or surprises, and instead just enjoy the sugary sweetness of a clean, contemporary love story.
I received a free copy from the publisher. No review, positive or otherwise, was required—all opinions are my own.
Blackberry Beach is the 7th novel in the Hope Harbor series and can be read as a stand-alone novel. Katherine Parker is a movie star who comes to Hope Harbor to get away from the press and collect her thoughts. Unable to suppress her caffeine and coffee addiction, Katherine visits a coffee shop, and there is an instant attraction between her and the coffee shop owner, Zach Garrett. Although this budding romance is at the heart of the story, Hannon adds more levels of complexity with supporting characters, strained relationships, and broken promises. I eagerly await the next installment.
I always enjoy a visit to Hope Harbor! I love this little town that Irene Hannon has created and the way she brings new characters into it. I love that they are always changed by the town but that the town is also changed by them! This was a great new installment to the series, and I liked that the ending was a little more complex than most writers would have done. I also appreciate the secondary character romance a lot! It really made this book for me as did the theme of family reconciliation! I'm always sad to see these books come to an end and will look forward eagerly to the next one!
I received a complimentary copy of this book from NetGalley but ended up listening to the audiobook from my library. I particularly enjoy this series in audiobook form!
