I absolutely love all the Hope Harbor books, and Blackberry Beach doesn’t disappoint. In book seven, Katherine arrives in Hope Harbor to relax and ponder her future. She’s on the verge of success and burn-out as she tries to figure out her future. Zach, Hope Harbor’s barista and coffee shop owner, considers his dating life, or the lack thereof. A kind young man with no prospects in sight meets Kat and the sparks fly, but she needs to hide her identity. As I read of Zach and Kat ambling along Blackberry Beach, I felt the ocean breeze and smelled the salt air of that magical place. Of course, Gladys, Floyd, and Charlie are back. They always bring fun and insight to the story. Hannon delves deep into her characters’ emotions as she ties in their backstory (including a story about Zach’s aunt) and spiritual threads. The references to other Hope Harbor residents who appeared in the first six books is like finding hidden treasure. If you haven’t read the series, Blackberry Beach can be read as a stand-alone. But the series is oh-so-good! If you enjoy reading entertaining and heartfelt stories, you’ll love this one. And I’ll warn you, you may be craving chocolate truffles by the end. I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.
Thanks Netgalley for allowing me to read this book. Katherine has achieved most of the goals she set for herself. She is a good actress and was offered the starring role in a new movie. She visits a small town where she hopes to remain anonymous. I enjoyed the chemistry that developed between Katherine and Zach. I enjoyed this book.
I love going back to Hope Harbor! Every trip leaves me more in love with Irene Hannon's fictional locale. Our favorite characters from previous books are all here, especially Charley, Floyd, and Gladys. The romance is sweet and the hope is palpable. Already eager few return trip!
Blackberry Beach by Irene Hannon is a quintessential contemporary romance. Two characters, Katherine and Zach, must interact and fight the growing emotions inside themselves against all the external dilemma forcing them apart. In this next installment of Hope Harbor, readers familiar with Hannon’s Hope Harbor’s series are brought back to the sandy beaches with Charlie’s taco truck lining the way. The romance is obviously the reader’s draw to this series. It sparks, pops, and blossoms into something beautiful by the end of the story. Of course, if readers enjoy predictable, yet the happy ending moment between the two characters, then Hannon hit it right on the nose. I believe fans of Hannon’s other contemporary romances would love this novel too. It is nice to return to a familiar town with familiar characters. Fans of Becky Wade, Johnnie Alexander and other contemporary romances would love Blackberry Beach.
I received a complimentary copy of Blackberry Beach by Irene Hannon from Revell Publishing, but the opinions stated are all my own.
I love Irene Hannon’s fictional town of Hope Harbor! She has created a wonderful little town and taken her readers there a number of times now. I so very much enjoyed meeting these new characters and getting to see old friends again. Such a precious place. I want to visit and get a fish taco from Charley. I do believe he is an angel unawares. Don’t miss this latest offering in Hannon’s series..
My thanks to Revell Publishing for a copy of this book via Net Galley. I received no compensation and the review here is my own opinion.
Blackberry Beach is a lovely return to the charming seaside town of Hope Harbor. Irene Hannon is the queen of the slow simmer romance. She's in her element in Blackberry Beach, with not just one, but two terrific romances for readers to enjoy.
Zach Garrett has evaluated his life goals and and made changes, landing him as owner of The Perfect Blend coffee shop. A mysterious customer, Kat draws his interest, especially after he discovers she's renting the beach house next door. She's looking for a sanctuary of solitude to rethink her own goals, "where better for an appeal for divine guidance to produce results than in an town named Hope Harbor?"
Zach's aunt Stephanie arrives for a visit, peaking the interest of his part time help, Frank. I love there's an older couple with some sparks flying. "It appeared the ember of attraction could burst into flame at any age."
Hannon has so many beautiful quotes in this story, but I do have a few favorites,
*"It's amazing how many small glimpses of paradise we can get here on earth if we take the time and make the effort to notice them."
*The heart is the best compass at any crossroads."
*"..beauty and hope can be found everywhere, even in the smallest place people tend to overlook."
Hannon is wonderfully skilled at developing a sense of community and relationships between her characters. Some are easy to love, some are more of a challenge, but all find a place in this welcoming town. Of course, a visit to Hope Harbor wouldn't be complete without Charley, Floyd and Gladys!
In addition to the appealing characters who find their happy ever after in Blackberry Beach, Hannon has written a food lovers story. I enjoyed both the romance and the culinary delights!
Readers will thrill at the sigh-worthy epilogue and it's deliciously swoony ending! I am one of Hannon's "enchanted readers" she's mentions in her author's note and I'm delighted to learn there will be a book eight next year. Until then, I'll content myself with Hannon's next romantic suspense Labyrinth of Lies, coming in October. I appreciate Revell making a copy of Blackberry Beach available for review. All thoughts and opinions are my very own.
Thank you to NetGalley for an ARC for an honest review.
This is an enjoyable "escape" novel. The turmoil that the characters experience are relatable. If you or someone you know needs a relationship healed, this book if for you. This book also explores how to explore your life track and how to have the courage to pursue your dreams. The setting is idyllic. The small town sounds like a place I'd love to visit. This is a stand alone novel, but if you've read the previous books in the series, you will better appreciate some of the references made.
