i got this book for free in netgallery in exchange of an honest review,
Something happened in the world and people had to run to chambers and bunkers to survive, only to be awaken 50 years in the future, everything seems alien after so long in a deep slumber... our main characters wren and aiden, were a couple but while aiden had his eyes on the future wren wasnt really sure if of their choises, but after a fight beetween them their world comes to an end (this is the part where it gets confused i am sure i read it was bombs, but after a while everyone says it was a sun flare, so maybe it was a mistake on my part or it was an error on the book, but i would have to read again to make sure) this world they woke to, its a strange one without nothing familiar that would say this is home.... wren doesnt know where aiden is or even if he is alive... and aiden knows he must find wren because he awoke in another place and he knows where wren should have awaken.. well making a long story short, this book its not bad but its not really memorable, because of the way the text is written, we dont really know who is talking at any givem moment like i had to make my stops at chapter changes because in the middle of the text i would lose myself and had to go back to the beggining of the chapter, other times the action inthe chapter would go so fast that i didnt know who did what and had to go back and read everything again. again i did like it but it isnt a book that i will continue thinking about in a week or a month

Survivor by Diane Mayer Christiansen

The dual narration of Aiden and Wren, two young people in love, but split by circumstances beyond their control. A powerful solar flare has damaged everything and is going to destroy the earth, as they know it. A cryotube has been prepared for all who can afford one and Aiden and Wren's tubes are located in different sectors.

When they wake up after 50 years, that's when everything changes. They have to struggle to get from the cryobank to the governmental hub where their future lies.

Aiden and his team were awakened before Wren's team. They will have to fight for their very rights to survive.

It was a good book and I liked it. It is the start of a great series. The reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is because, at about 40%, the editing of the book seemed to stop, wrong names were substituted and wrong words were used, for example, Souls was used instead of Soles. It does make a difference in the way the words are used. That part was disappointing.

I received a complimentary copy of #survivor from #netgalley and Diane Mayer Christiansen, I was under no obligation to post a review.

I liked this one. The author has a pretty vivid imagination and writes quite well. Interesting characters and mostly engaging plot make this a pretty enjoyable read. I hope it gets a lot more readers.

Thanks very much for the review copy!!

Thank you to NetGalley and Independent Book Publishers Association (IBPA), for providing me with a review copy.
I have tried 3 times now to get into this book, and sadly that has to be my limit. DNF’d at 40%.
On the positive side, I loved the concept of this book. A society that splits its citizens into districts, that is then devastated when fireballs start descending from the sky. Cue our MC’s Wren and Aiden having to quickly enter cryotanks and emerge 50 years later.
My problems with the book are pacing, I found the pacing really off some parts would gallop so quickly I’d have to go back and read it again, while others dragged out. Secondly the book is told in multi-POV usually a winner with me, but the voices of the 2 characters are so similar that its quite difficult to keep up with who we are with at any given time.
This will definitely be someone’s cup of tea, unfortunately it wasn’t mine.

Special thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for a free electronic copy of this book received in exchange for an honest review.

Survivor Out of the Wild begins with Wren and the boy who is in love with her, Aiden, fighting the night before their official decision about which university to attend. Each character has faced hardships and worked diligently to move up to the next district (like Hunger Games). However, the next day the world as they know it comes to a halt when balls of fire reign down. Luckily, both Wren and Aiden are able to make it to their cryotanks and sleep for the next 50 years. This is where the fun begins...

I really liked the pace for this book. It was quick and kept you on your toes especially when it would switch narrators. It was not a truly unique story (I won't compare so we can avoid spoilers here), but I liked how it was told and the realism of the different characters in a post apocalyptic world.
