I'm a sucker for a lighthouse story! I was so pleased with this one-will definitely be picking up a hard copy to gift to a friend!
i was really excited to read this book, but it archieved and now i cant download it im now planning on buying the book.
Beautiful sweet romantic book to read. It was a joy to read. Lovely characters. Great plot. The book was charming. Very well written. I’d definitely recommend this book
Cute read and an overall good time to be had. Loved the humour, the tone of the characters, the insanity of them sometimes. It's a really nice one to cuddle with on a cold and/or rainy day. There's nothing too over the top and it's generally a good time to be had, so if you're in the mood for that kind of feel-goodness, then pick this one up
This was a brilliant read and is being featured on my blog for my quick star reviews feature, which I have created on my blog so I can catch up with all the books I have read and therefore review.

So I wanted a cute fluffy rom-com and that’s what I got, but it was even better than expected. I think what did it for me was the quick-witted lovable and bawdy Yorkshire banter - it was just so fucking fun! I chuckled out loud often. I plan to look up more books by Mary Jayne Baker, and if there aren’t any, I hope there will be more to come.
Her books are the best. What can I say. I liked this book. Must read. Do it. If you do anything else. Read this book today. Great read and enjoyable.
There are a lot of things going on here; a passionate romance, hilarious scenes, music, crazy parents and family dramas, jealous exes and a nosy community.
This is my first book by this author, but I think it was charming and original enough to make me want to read more of her works. I love small town romances, so that was a big YES to get me to read this book, but also another thing that caught my eye from the beginning was the way these characters met again, was something sweet to read, and what they were doing with that lighthouse? amazing!
The writing was well paced, light and fluid, the plot was entertaining and engaging, and (almost) all the characters in scenes were charming.
This is a super fun read. I really enjoyed this one!
Many thanks to the author, the publisher, and Netgalley for my ARC. All opinions are my own.
I have received this ARC from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
Meet Me at the Lighthouse brought me back to when I went to Maine for a day two years ago. We were celebrating my Dad's 60th birthday and we traveled to Boston for a week. Rented a huge house for the whole family, plus dog babies, and did so many things. I especially enjoyed my lobster roll in Maine and seeing a lighthouse from afar.
We are already thinking of going to Maine next year to celebrate my Mom's 60th.. which would have been this year.. but due to Covid we ended up playing the game 'Pandemic' and basically killed the entire world over and over again.
Anyhoo, back to the book. In this, you will meet Bobbie and Ross. Now these two are sort of getting a second chance at love being the flames are reigniting between these two. Their chemistry was so freaking good and I honestly loved how they wanted to help one another when it came to anything.
Of course there was drama.. coming from Ross because he was still technically married (but separated from his wife). Ugh. It still didn't stop me from having heart eyes whenever these two were in the same room. They were just really freaking cute and I couldn't help it.
In the end, I'm so glad that I got the chance to dive into this book. Even though it took me forever to actual do so. It's very cute and a quick read.
I thoroughly enjoyed this story, had a lot of fun and rooted for the characters.
The language was sometimes a bit too much on the "local" side but I liked it.
Recommended.
Many thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for this ARC, all opinions are mine
The romance in this story hits you almost from page one, and just keeps going. of course there are ups and downs (there has to be!) but even though the relationship between Bobbie and Ross is central, most of the conflict and tension centres around the repurposed lighthouse and the struggle they have to renovate it. Apologies, though, I skipped the explicit sex scenes!
A thoroughly enjoyable read, with lots of love and a certain amount of drama.
This was heartwarming, charming and adorable. This is set in a little village on the Yorkshire coast.Bobbie and Ross have a history, and after years without contact their reunion gives you the feel of something strong between them. There is tention, it's romantic and sexy at times. He was sensitive and she was strong, together they make a great couple. They have some funny moments too.
Overall, it was a great read.
On Bobbie’s 28th birthday she meets Ross Manion, her childhood friend for the first time in 10yrs in front of a lighthouse selling it at only £1.
She makes the unlogical decision of buying the lighthouse and another drunken mistake of forming a partnership with Ross for a musical venue.
But who knows?? That unlogical decision might just be the start of the most important chapter of her life.
It’s my first time reading a Mary jayne’s book and I can say I’m officially a fan, I loved the refreshing and simplicity of the plot and adored both Ross and Bobbie’s characters and how positive minded they were.
What I absolutely loved about this book and what makes it a little bit different is the fact that we didn’t get the evil ex- wife kinda story, The writer portrayed Claire as just another person you can actually be friends with.
Childhood friends turn into lovers is definitely my go-to trope and so I enjoyed every single moment Also Can we just talk about how beautiful that cover is.
It’s a story involving love, family, friendship, and dreams. This was my first book of 2021 and i smiled throughout the whole story which made a great start of the year.
I give this one a 4 ⭐️/5 rating because I enjoyed it a lot despite it being the same cute , predictable romance that we always get.
I’ll recommend it to anyone who wants a little refreshing love story to add to their book Collection.
Thank you @Netgalley and Aria &Aries for giving me the Arc copy of this one in exchange of an honest review.
I loved this book! It was heartwarming and strong. It was exactly what I needed with everything going on in the world! A happy little escape!
Thank you netgalley for providing this ARC in exchange for an honest review.
This had the potential to be a sweet romantic novel but the story fell flat for me. Im not sure if it was the heavy English slang that made it difficult for me to connect with the characters but something felt out of place and their drunken night of reminiscing didn't move me like it should have. Just not the novel I expected.
I’m grateful to NetGalley for allowing me to read and review all these wonderful books.
I’m one who always enjoys reading a romance set in the UK. This was a cute read but I did find it a little hard to understand with being from the states and not familiar with all the English slang. But the overall concept and storyline of this book was good. I would say it’s a 2.75 stars ⭐️ in my book.
The two main characters have a lot of fun, laughter and tears along the way after buying an old lighthouse for £1. This was a great novel and I really enjoyed reading it. I am sure you will too. This has been very well written and I am giving it 5 stars.
Thanks to Netgalley and publisher for the ARC
I really enjoyed this book. It was so fun! Bobbi and Ross were great and I also loved the secondary characters. I will definitely be reading more from this author.
3.5 stars
I am a sucker for all things with lighthouses, books included so I dove into this novel based on the title and cover alone. Who says you can't judge a book by its cover anyway? If you did, you'd find that this book is just as delightful as the cover implies!
Bobbi and Ross were SUCH a fun couple to get to know - heck, the whole entire family and cast of characters I'd love to read more about. Everyone was fun, witty and a joy to get to know throughout the novel, even quirky Travis. The best part of the book was honestly getting to meet all of these fun people who I wish I could know in real life.
This was a delightful read and a perfect escape from a cold wintry day.
Thank you to NetGalley and Aria & Aries for an eARC copy of this novel in exchange for my honest review.
