I loved the premise of the book! A quick read, although it was a slow burn. I was eager by the end to stay up and read the rest! I’m excited to read more from this series!

It started off pretty slow and boring. I ended up switching to the audiobook and that was a much better experience. And then the ending! 😮 Was absolutely not expecting that! Looking forward to reading and discussing The Sequel with Celadon's Read Together Initiative on Instagram! Of which they included the audiobook. 👍

Really liked the twist here in that it was a story within a story. I think I guessed the ending but still wasn't sure. I am so pumped to hear there is a sequel coming out.

"The Plot" is a gripping exploration of ambition, literary theft, and the nature of originality. Korelitz masterfully weaves a story within a story, keeping the reader guessing until the very end. The characters are complex and morally ambiguous, making for a truly thought-provoking read. Fans of fast-paced mysteries and anyone who's ever dreamt of literary success will devour this book.

The Plot" by Jean Hanff Korelitz

⭐⭐⭐⭐

"The Plot" by Jean Hanff Korelitz was one of my most anticipated reads, and it did not disappoint! The story is a compelling blend of suspense and literary intrigue that kept me hooked from start to finish. Korelitz masterfully explores the complexities of authorship and the boundaries of creative ethics, making for an intellectually stimulating and thrilling read. The characters are well-drawn and the plot twists are genuinely surprising. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a gripping and thought-provoking novel.

Terrific plot, with excellent suspense. I was familiar with the author’s previous book which was made into the excellent HBO miniseries “The Undoing” and was just as pleased with this thriller as that previous book. Highly recommended!

This book is absolutely *wild*. It starts as a slow burn illiteracy fiction story, and then BAM before you know it the story is turned on its head and it becomes a thriller. Highly recommended as it blends a the two genres seamlessly.

This is one author I am going to have to give up on because I find that I just don't enjoy her books. The Plot by Jean Hanff Korelitz is another one to end up in the DNF pile. The premise is great, but the execution is excruciating. It just drags on and on. She uses 40 words when 10 would have done the same job. I got 100 pages in and was just utterly bored, so I gave up.

The Plot was a solid mystery/thriller. Perfect for readers who enjoy tongue and cheek literary writing style but want to explore the mystery/thriller genre..

I had a horrible time getting into this book. I think maybe because I had just read another one that was along the same lines. Or it might have been that the book just wasn't for me. I honestly have no idea. I did not finish it so giving a full review is not fair.

It had twists and turns and some likable characters along with a few that are very unlikable. Or in my opinion they were unlikable. As with all books if I don't finish one I just can't leave a glowing review. I also can't put any part of it under a not good tent.

Thank you NetGalley for this ARC.

I’m sure you have seen the hype surrounding this book, and for good reason. This was such a quick read for me-I absolutely enjoyed every page of it. Jacob is a has been, but he always knows a good plot when he sees one. Wow, wow and more wow. I think most people can agree that this book was great.

I had a real hard time grasping this storyline and maintaining my connection with it. I had really high hopes for this book. But unfortunately, I had to stop because I had such a hard time getting the story.
I wished so much to like this book

Oh wow-- I was not expecting something so gut wrenching when I picked this up. I was thoroughly caught up in the dilemma in this book and thought the author did a fantastic job exploring all of the moral complexities. Big thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for the e-galley.

I was so excited to read this book. I talked about the plot to everyone and truly felt it’s originality. The beginning and middle were superbly written but the ending left the story flat. I wish there was an alternate ending somewhere.

Thank you NetGalley and Celadon Books for giving me the opportunity to read this!

I gotta be honest, I didn't get this one. I think it takes a lot of guts to write a novel within a novel, and to have that novel be groundbreaking.

THE PLOT is a story about ... a plot.

Sorry, I couldn't resist writing that. Anyway, this book is definitely interesting and it will make readers wonder about what goes on in the classes teaching "creative writing."

Exactly how creative are the professors who "teach" this subject to others?

It is a story about a teacher who steals the manuscript of one of his students after he realizes that student has died. What exactly are the ethics in a situation like that.

If the student's manuscript was such a surefire success, surely it is a book that deserves to be published.

I loved the many twists and the angst of the literary thief. Is he a good person? What should he have done with it?

This is a book that is perfect for Book Clubs as I am sure that every reader will have their own opinions on the plot.

I rate THE PLOT as 4 out of 5 Stars ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️

I don't read many thrillers these days, but holy moly I read this in ONE SITTING. There's a reason it's gotten so much hype -- it's worth it. The reason I don't read many thrillers is because I often find the plots redundant, but I guess I shouldn't be surprised that a book titled "The Plot" has a great one.

THIS BOOK WAS SO GOOD!

Took me a second to adjust to the writing style - it’s a bit lengthy & detailed, but it sucked me right in. Sometimes the action pauses as you get in to the main character Jacob’s head, but it’s truly so interesting and well written and still interesting that I didn’t mind when I usually do.

It felt EXTREMELY realistic to the writing process, and every character felt real. Truly couldn’t put it down in the last 50 pages. I did catch on to the twist from the very beginning (as a regular thriller, and while it wasn't OBVIOUS, I think it was easier to catch on toward the end), but even still, reading the ending was still rewarding. Also LOVED mixing in the book within the book. Very cool to read the parallel plots. The pacing was perfect.

This felt fun and more intelligent than other books I’ve read, tbh. Thoroughly impressed.
