I tried to read this my son and I may have cried my way through. He didn’t understand why bc he’s 7. This is a beautiful story of how a whole community came to make a special season for this sweet boy and his family. What an incredible book about this amazing sweet little guy!

What a powerful book. Eric Walters and Nicole Wellwood do an amazing job with the writing of this book and the illustrations by Carloe Lui bring the words to life. A beautiful story that moved me to tears. Nicole Wellwood note at the end about the reason behind the book and her family experiences with brain tumours just made the book feel extra special.
I book that highlights the magic of Christmas and the joy that it can bring a family even in the toughest of time.

Bringing a smile to little Evan's face is a task that his family and the entire local community dedicate themselves to. United by the common goal and wish, they manage to move Christmas. A story, based on a true story, which in a simple way, understandable to children, conveys a very powerful message for both children and adults. It does not matter if it is a holiday or not, what matters is the time spent with loved ones, a time that each of us must make the most of. The beautiful illustrations as well as the text are absolutely brilliant and completely adapted to the level of understanding of the children. Not only the chance to read a wonderful story, the book offers parents a chance to be able to use elements of the story to talk to our children. Such serious topics, which are by no means easy to read or talk about, but are an integral part of life. What also amazed me was that the firefighters, police officer and paramedics are presented as friends of society, someone we should trust and who are here for our good.

As I read the letter to Evan's mother, I wept for little Evan and for all the children around the world who are facing the same situation, for all those families going through that Golgotha. And I think this book should be part of every family collection, a book that glorifies the true values in our lives. A wonderful book…

This Christmas story is based on a true story, the story of a young, seven-year-old boy named Evan. Evan’s family and friends know that Evan is very sick, and even though it’s only October the people in the town of St. George, Ont. join together, and seemingly overnight work to ensure that Evan’s wish to enjoy one more Christmas parade comes true. Soon the entire town, downtown, and the homes were all decorated for the upcoming holiday.

Evan’s story was co-written by Evan’s mother, Nicole Wellwood, along with Eric Walters, the author. The afterword is also written by Evan’s mother.

This is a beautifully shared story about love in its purest form, and a boy who served as inspiration for an entire town.

The Boy Who Moved Christmas is a touching true story of a poorly little boy who loved Christmas. It is a beautiful story of how the local community came together to give him and his family the Christmas they deserved.
I would recommend this to both children and adults.

I think this is a touching story about Evan’s last Christmas celebration, as we find out in the afterword, Evan passed away on December 6th that same year. I think this would be a nice book to share with other children who may be going through the same thing as Evan.

However, I think what makes the book better is the afterword where it puts the book into perspective. While there are hints throughout the story that Evan has an illness and an adult would be able to put together what was happening, I’m not sure a child would be able to and that’s who this book is for. We see that everyone is celebrating for Evan and that he’s brought on the sleigh with Santa and as I said, as an adult, I know why everyone is celebrating Christmas in October; however, there’s no explanation for it until you read the afterword which isn’t always read.

I also wasn’t the biggest fan of the art style but that is just personal preference.

As I said, I think this is a great book for children who might be experiencing something similar to Evan, it can help show them they aren’t alone. I just wish there was a better way to explain it in the story for children without the afterword or additional explanation from someone older.

Such a lovely story that moved me to tears. Based on a real life story, with beautiful illustrations, it teaches us the importance to take care of others, and the value of a community when there are others in need.

Easily one of the most beautiful stories I have read ever in my life. Absolutely lovely story that is heartbreaking at the same time and made me very emotional.

This was beautifully written and the art by Carloe Liu is spectacular. This would make a wonderful addition to any family's Christmas book collection.

The afterword is written by Evan's mother Nicole and recounts the origins for this holiday book. Evan's family sounds so wonderful and brave. Thank you for sharing your story.

This book made me cry. What a brave boy Evan was, a true hero and inspiration, that his whole town and beyond celebrated Christmas early for him. This is the true spirit of Christmas!

The whole town rally's to surround Evan and his family with love and the spirit of Christmas in October to make sure his wishes come true. Best new Christmas story I've read in years!

The Afterword by Evans Mother, which divulges into the true story of Evan, truly broke my heart and simultaneously filled it with love.

This book would be a wonderful addition to everyone's Christmas bookshelf.
