Sabine is missing. What happened after she left the pool on the 4th of July? Is she alive or dead? According to a Facebook poll, most of her neighbors think she’s dead. Rest assured, all questions are answered at the end of this book! Definitely a satisfying ending.

This was an entertaining read for me that I flew through. Everyone made mistakes, but that didn’t take away from the character’s likability. I especially enjoyed Tish, she was a great character.

I was most certainly not expecting any of the twists (and there are a lot). I was truly guessing up until the end. There are a lot of books out like this, and I can’t say specifically without giving away spoilers, but it was still very unexpected and enjoyable! What a wild ride!

There was one part, I didn’t particularly enjoy, because it seemed far fetched (hence my 4/5 stars). But I would recommend this book!

The Missing Woman by Georgina Cross was a suspenseful thriller and I was hooked. There are multiple twists and turns and plenty of possibilities along the way that had me guessing the whole time. While I suspected one two twists, I was surprised by most and it was a really enjoyable book. It hooks you from the very beginning and then it's a constant suspense and tension that builds throughout the book.

I read a lot of thrillers so I tend to guess every possible outcome at some point throughout the book. However, this one kept me on my toes. You will be suspecting almost every character of almost every possible crime. That's what happened to me. Cross drops so many little details and red herrings that you start to doubt everyone, how they're involved and what they're hiding. I would have loved an epilogue just because there were a couple of storylines I'd like to see play out. However, the last chapter ends with a bang and had me processing the book as soon as I finished.

The characters were interesting, the format and pacing of the book were uniquely done (Facebook posts? Love that.) and the surprises are scattered throughout the book. This town is filled with all sorts of unique people, each with secrets of their own, and I loved that.

The book alternated through time in a way I hadn't seen in another book and it was different. However, I think it worked well in this story and gave us enough information to keep us hooked but withheld enough information to keep us surprised. This is definitely a book worth reading and would make the perfect beach/vacation read or just a book for when you need a little escapism.

This book reminded me of ‘Gone Girl’.
I struggled with the start of this book but about half way through I started to really enjoy it.
This book was gripping, thrilling and even made me do an audible gasp at some of the twists.
Perfect for fans of ‘Gone Girl’ and thrillers.

Thank you to NetGalley and Bookouture for this copy of The Missing Woman by Georgina Cross.

You know a book is good when you audibly gasp at a plot twist. While reading The Missing Woman I audibly gasped several times, the plot twists are that good.

Erica lives in a nice neighborhood but not as nice as the nearby Honor's Row, which houses the elite of the elite of Erica's community. Erica has two best friends that live in her part of the community and no real connection to Honors Row or it's residents. When Sabine Miller, Honors Row golden girl, goes missing it shouldn't be a big deal for Erica. Sabine is just another one of the elite, right? Read The Missing Woman to find out the answer to that question and many others that you don't even know you have yet.

I really liked The Missing Woman, staying up late on a work night to finish it. I wasn't exaggerating when I said the plot twists made me gasp, I was truly stunned by the twists and turns that Georgina Cross managed to work into The Missing Woman without making it too confusing or outlandish. This is a thriller worth your time, trust me.

A very interesting read!

The story kept me gripped at all times and several times I had to catch my breath because I was gasping. If you love books like Big Little Lies, you will for sure enjoy this one!

I can recommend it to anyone who is a fan of domestic thrillers.

Thank you NetGalley and Bookouture for my ARC. This is another nail biting thriller by Georgina Cross. Just like her previous book, The Stepdaughter, The Missing Woman is perfectly paced and will keep you on the edge of your seat. Sabine Miller has disappeared. All of Sabine’s loved ones and friends are either desperately searching for her, or anxiously awaiting her return. As the mystery unfolds, many suspects come to light. The past is resurrected and facades are shattered. Loyalties are tested, as lives are broken. I grew to care for many of the characters and despise others. Appearances are definitely deceiving in this well crafted, compelling suspenseful thriller! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

2 stars.

This was ok. It had moments where it really got my attention but they didn't start to happen until after I was 50% of the way through and even then they were short lived.

I think the story was written well, but just wasn't for me. I didn't really care much for the characters and it was too much of a story about friends gossiping and that's not something I'm interested in.

By the last 90% I was skim reading because I really wasn't interested but I did want to keep reading to see if it picked up. It didn't.

While I wouldn't recommend it, there wasn't anything in it that would make me say, that it's because it was awful. It just wasn't for me and I hope that others out there enjoy it.

The Missing Woman starts off really well. It's the 4th of July, and the entire neighborhood has gathered at the community pool to celebrate and watch the fireworks. On one side, you have the 'haves' - Sabine, Monica, and Carole - and on the other side are the 'have-nots' - Erica and Tish. Sabine and Erica have a history, one they've both chosen to keep secret. When Sabine goes missing that night, fingers soon start pointing.

While I liked the plot, I felt the story lost its way in the middle. After that, it was more telling than showing, which doesn't work for me.

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for the arc.

The missing woman by Georgina Cross is a psychological thriller that had me from the very start. A standalone story with a prologue that explodes of the page and sets the scene for the ensueing story. We then go to a beautiful summers day in Hunstville, Alabama on the 4th July. All the privileged and beautiful people are relaxing along with the people from the other side of town, around the community pool. One woman, Sabine is seen leaving the pool area and that is the last time anyone see her. Erica, is the narrator of the story and worries that she may have seen something wrong when Sabine left the pool.
From here on in the suspense and tension to the story keeps up a pace that has you turning the pages as fast as they can be read. The chapters are kept short and this just aids the flow of the story. I had no idea what had haopened to Sabine and just raced through this story, dying to discover the secrets the pages held. I won't give any spoilers but let's just say, things that happen in the past do have a habit of coming back to haunt you! And haunt it does!
If you like your stories with plenty of mystery amd suspense that is almost able to raise the blood pressure, The Missing Woman is worth a read!
Thanks to Bookouture and NetGalley for the copy if the book for my review

The Missing Woman is a great thriller that's so hard to put down! I really liked Erica and Sabine and found it easy to put myself in their shoes. This book is full of twists and turns and secrets, which is a combination I'm always interested in. I couldn't wait to find out what happened to Sabine, and the ending is really satisfying. Thanks to NetGalley and Bookouture for giving me the opportunity to read The Missing Woman...I'm excited to read more by this author. : )

This was a slow burn mystery/thriller book.

The story was well paced out and it kept me guessing until the end.

Everyone is a suspect to the police after Saline goes missing.

Its a book full of betrayal, mystery and suspense.

Highly recommend reading this.

Welcome to Green Cove,a community that is situated at the base of the Appalachian Mountains and where the rich and beautiful with their lavish houses are separated from the not so wealthy by a golf course and a nature reserve. Our main character and narrator of this gripping thriller Erica had at one time wanted to be able to mingle amongst the likes of Sabine Miller and her beautiful friends Monica and Carol but those desires swiftly change when Sabine mysteriously disappears. After Erica and her best friend Tish find themselves caught up in the investigation, it gradually becomes apparent that life isn't always greener on the other side. Their apparently safe and secure neighbourhood is a hot bed of secrets, lies and deceit but what is the truth behind Sabine's disappearance? As is common in this age of social media, certain members of the community have their own opinions and are not shy about sharing them on the community Facebook Group Post where they had the opportunity to pass judgement without fear of recriminations. Almost every character in this story was harbouring some sort of secret including Erica herself and I can't honestly say that I thought any of the characters were very likeable although I did feel a bit of sympathy for Sabine once the truth about her situation was revealed. I also felt some empathy for younger Erica during the chapters that were set twenty five years in the past.

After opening with a intense prologue the story is then quite a slow burner until you reach the last quarter of the book where it becomes a full blown, intense psychological thriller. The plot held my attention throughout the story which contains some unexpected twists and turns and some clever reader manipulation by the author. Georgina Cross is a very talented author and I look forward to reading many more of her books in the future.

I received an ARC copy of this book from Net Galley in exchange for my honest opinion of it. This was another awesome book by an amazing author. Sabine is hanging out with her friends at the pool on the 4th of July. She stares across the pool and gives Erica a look which completely takes her by surprise as Sabine leaves the pool. Needless to say, Sabine's home is broken into, blood is found and Sabine is missing. The first suspect is her husband, Mark, who happens to be a well loved man who is a politician. As the search continues for Sabine, so many twists and turns until the very end. This book had me hooked and I so enjoyed it.

Ooooh, trust author Georgina Cross to run a great scam and fool me in her latest thriller.

Sabine went missing from the poolside after sending an indecipherable look at Erica. What did that mean? Her bracelet too was found at the edge of the area nearing the woods. A broken door and blood streaks at the doorway of her home were later found by her husband Mark. What happened to Sabine?

The book was from Erica’s POV as she along with her best friend Tish tried to make sense of the incident. Secrets were revealed and masks were thrown away as the claws came out. Each of them around Sabine had something to hide. The story in the present was conducted within the four walls of Erica’s home which I found to be quite intriguing; the world outside came alive via messages and apps.

I loved how the author made use of social media namely Facebook where a page devoted to Sabine was quickly created, a group was made, followed by discussion and inference of what could have happened to Sabine. It was fun to see how the world really revolved when someone went missing. The wicked ones soon came out of the woodwork.

The book changed its tangential course at 60% and moved at a warped speed at 70%. Nothing could have pulled me away from my kindle. There were a few things I suspected, though the author gave away nothing. But nobody would be a main character unless they had a bigger part to play. The twists hit me hard when the truth was finally revealed. Hoorah for girl power.

A note of humor – only a man would think that wearing only a mustache was a great disguise wherein nobody would recognize him.

Set in a heatwave, Erica and her best friend Tish are off to spend the day at their community pool with their kids and stay to watch the 4th of July fireworks. When they arrive the wealthy women are there with their sun loungers and monogrammed towels while they are struggling to even find a seat.

While enviously watching Sabine, Monica and Carol a look is exchanged between Erica and Sabine right before she leaves that doesn’t sit right with Erica. So when her husband Mark arrives at the pool looking for her and then goes home to discover blood and Sabine missing things do not look good. Mark is the county commissioner and is running for a second term.

Erica being the last to see her alive and choosing to conceal her bracelet that was dropped at the pool we also learn of a previous falling out and history between the pair.

The setting of a community split in two, with a golf course purposefully placed to separate the haves from the have nots, and the use of social media worked incredibly well to show people for what they really were.

After enjoying the author’s previous book The stepdaughter I was really looking forward to this. Georgina really has a way of analysing her characters and putting them in awkward situations. I loved how she wasn’t shy about using the stereotypes of envy and the grass is greener but twisting them to bring about a different narrative.

With some well placed twists this is another terrific character driven story centred around dynamic relationships.

I may be a little biased as the author of this book but I loved it. I loved writing it and placing these characters in an exaggerated version of the neighborhood where I used to live. It was also fun to explore friendships and far people's loyalty to one another will go when faced with secrets and danger. I hope you will also enjoy THE MISSING WOMAN!
