This is such a cute way of teaching children how NOT TO spread their germs.

Do not let your dragon spread germs is a guide book on how the children shouldn't let their dragons spread their germs and to stay healthy, even from the tiniest sneeze to a bad cough.

It tells them how to wash their hands and to wear masks amongst other tips.

It’s written with rhymes, beautiful colorful illustrations and how kids truly mimic adults.

Stay home when sick and don’t let your dragon spread germs! 😉

This is a cute book teaching kids about the COVID pandemic and about spreading germs and why we wear masks.

Thank you to NetGalley for the ARC of Do Not Let Your Dragon Spread Germs ! This Dragon series by Julie Gassman and Andy Elkerton is a huge hit in my elementary library. This book could not have been released at a more perfect time! You can spread joy without spreading germs!!! Perfect for any children's library or classroom! I gave this one a 5 out of 5 and hope they continue writing the dragon series!

Super cute illustrations and has a very important message shared in a very kid friendly way, books like this one are a vital part of sharing big important topics with littles.

I have been really enjoying the children's books coming out amid the coronavirus pandemic. It's hard to talk to kids about difficult subjects, and it emphasizes how important books are for kids navigating life. In 'do not let your dragon spread germs' I loved the use of pet dragons. The story brilliantly explained why it is important to wear masks, social distance, and to stay home when sick.

An obviously timely book, exactly what every child under 5 probably needs right now. Today's little ones will be hygiene superstars in the future!
Do Not Let Your Dragon Spread Germs teaches hand washing, mask wearing, social distancing and repeats the mantra "do not let your dragon spread germs" many times. Toddlers will love to repeat over and over again the title as it comes up every 3-5 pages; and is often written to imply you should yell it out!

The dragons get up to antics in these brightly coloured pages including: setting things on fire, trying to put on a mask over a large snout, and difficulty of social distancing. There is good diversity as we are shown not only different dragons but each page has a different child 'handler' for their pet dragon. This allows the illustrations to show diversity in race and gender.

I especially like the section, near the end, about: not wanting to over worry anyone, make your friends mad that you can't sit closer to one another or upsetting anyone. One line is even "stay home when you're sick, and just do your best." Acknowledging that kids (and adults) are more upset right now and it's hard for everyone. Even though this isn't advice on hygiene, it may be the single most important page of this cute story as it reinforces that it's okay to worry and be upset.

When reading this book it reminded me of a video I saw a couple months ago. It was of a one year old girl. She was sooo cute and toddled her way outdoors to anything square that might have looked like a hand sanitizing station. She'd put her hands underneath said square item (usually a block, electrical piece, or other innocuous item low to the ground that adults don't even notice) and pretend to wait for the sanitizer to pour; then rub her hands together to get it all over. Both the cutest (and possibly saddest) video of what it means to be born in the middle of a pandemic. She is trying to be just like the adults. This is ultimately what kids want to be in the end is like the adults. This is a good reminder that kids mimic us all the time; and so it's critical to set a good example during this time of difficulty. To the littlest of us it becomes 'old hat' very quick.

The person I know who has adapted to masks and distancing the easiest is 5 years old. She just shrugs when asked how it is to wear a mask at school; as every day she has every gone to school that has been the rule; so it's just part of a normal school day to her.

This is a great reminder that we can all do this. It might be uncomfortable, inconvenient, and depressing but it can also just become part of the routine. Keep this in mind as we teach the youngest of us how to fight against an invisible force of contagion.

Please note: I received an eARC of this book from the publisher via NetGalley. This is an honest and unbiased review.

This is such a creative and wonderful book for children. It helps explain Covid in a way that children can understand and relate to. The central theme is one about having a Dragon. However, to be a fierce Dragon and save those around him, certain special things must be done. Wearing a mask is one. Staying a big amount apart from others is so important, too.

The illustrations are terrific, too. Kids will really be drawn to this book and use it to stay safe now. If a Dragon can do it, so can they.

I would definitely recommend this book to all people who are in contact with young children. The book can even be read over your computer. What I wonderful and fun way to connect.

Offers hope and solutions to kids in such an uncertain time.

Loved reading this book.

Another great "Do Not Let Your..." book. The book is topical and one that children will be able to relate to in the time of Covid. Mask wearing and social distancing does not come easily to young children, but a familiar book will likely help.

Also do not let your dragon touch her face or mouth and always cover both mouth and snout with a face mask. Adjust it at the horns. No high fives or hugs and maintain social distance. And do not let your dragon spread germs! Or you either.

The rhymes are easy for children to understand and help reinforce how to stay healthy and not spread germs – for dragons, too. The dragons are adorable and this is another book I could read over and over and over without losing my mind. A-

This book was a fun read for me, but I'm an adult. I picked this book up as an ARC because I wanted to get a good read for some of my patrons that are asking for a VERY YOUNG picture book to help their non-school aged children understand what is happening. For those very young children, this book may be fun, as long as the one reading it to them is having fun and not being too serious.

This would have been a good book to read in June of 2020 when my school returned to in-person learning. The message was a good one pre-covid but even more relevant now. The rhyming text and visuals will appeal to young listeners in early primary grades.

I've enjoyed the other Dragon books by Julie Gassman and Capstone Publishing and figured this one would be no different. Thank you to NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review "Do Not Let Your Dragon Spread Germs." This title features adorable kids and dragons sharing the importance of staying safe during the current pandemic. It reminds kids to wear their mask, wash their hands, stay 6 feet apart and more. I know kids are going to love this book and will get the "message" too.

Do Not Let Your Dragon Spread Germs is a beautifully illustrated book covering all the necessary things we need to do at the moment such as social distancing, mask wearing and hand washing without actually mentioning Covid.
My 4 year old son and I loved it and I liked how it explained about not spreading germs in a fun, non frightening way for children to understand.

Thank you to NetGalley and Capstone for my ARC.

With rollicking, rhyming fun, Do Not Let Your Dragon Spread Germs shines by having the kids be in charge and being the ones to teach their dragons how to behave. This is a very fun way to make our new normal truly normal. To keep ourselves and others protected, the kids in this story tell their dragons, and their readers, to wash their hands, stop touching their faces, and wear a mask! The dragons have comical reactions to keep the story silly and upbeat. Gassman also touches on the social and emotional aspects of the Covid virus. Children are struggling with a ton of anxiety right now and the dragons are a way to have those fears heard. When the kids have finished explaining everything to their dragons, the dragons express that talking about germs and new rules is scaring them. To help soothe nerves, our healthy leaders say that all of these precautions help the dragons and their friends stay healthy so that they can continue to have fun. A great, upbeat story that touches on a lot of aspects.

A kid's book that applies to current evets with bright and lovely pictures? Cool book. My 5 years old and I both enjoyed reading about how to social distance during the covid- era, and be healthy and strong in this children's book about caring for your dragons.

Teaching children how to protect their dragon from germs teaches them to protect themselves as well. Very cute about washing your hands, not touching your face, wearing a mask, social distancing, etc.

Another book in the “Don’t Let Your Dragon” series - this one tackling the timely issue of germs and mask wearing.
As usual, the rhymes are catchy and the illustrations vibrant.
The story is filled with practical tips to help our young ones stay healthy. But the best, and in my opinion, most important part of the story deals with how these safety measures make us feel. Taking on worry and sadness as well as distancing and mask wearing is a kindness and so helpful for our young readers.

I received a digital ARC via NetGalley from Capstone. This picture book is a FUN discussion starter for the importance of wearing masks and how to not spread germs. The artwork is beyond phenomenal, the rhyming is nice and nothing feels forced. The page spreads are colorful and dynamic. Recommended for ages 4-7.

Thank you to NetGalley and Capstone for kindly providing me with a digital copy of this book for review.
Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you can’t be in any doubt as to why there is a need for germ awareness books for children at this time (2020).
It is a topic that I have always taken seriously with my children, not because I’m a complete germaphobe, but because both my children are autistic, and I have health conditions that make me vulnerable to infection. They’re not very hygiene aware, despite my constant teaching. Therefore I’m constantly looking for new media to repeat the same lessons I have been trying to teach them. This is a fun little book that does a great job of hitting home that message. The inclusion of a dragon adds an element of excitement and folklore that interests a children and keeps their attention . The rhyming pattern keeps a good pace through the book, and again helps keep the child engaged. A great book that I will be reading more than just the once with my children.
