Set against a small town Main backdrop, this mystery is quirky and fun with great characters and enough twists and turns to keep it interesting. Glad to see Jake and Ellie's story continuing.

The Chocolate Moose is run by Jake and Ellie. A local man is found murdered and they are on the case. On top of looking for a murderer in their town they are signed up for a cookie contest. It is a fun mystery with well developed characters. I would start with the first book to get a better idea of the whole story.

Death by Chocolate Snickerdoodle is a fantastic new cozy mystery. It revolves around two women who own a bakery, Jake and Ellie, trying to figure out who killed a local man. The sisters of the man framed for the murder ask them to figure out who killed the guy and off they go on a hunt for clues. It is well written with a solid mystery that kept me guessing. This is my first book in the Jake and Ellie series and I really enjoyed it. I highly recommend it.

I received this ARC via Netgalley and Kensington Books, in return for an honest review. While not the book in this series, it is easily read as a standalone. Jacobia “Jake’ Tiptree and Ellie White own an amazing food store named ‘The Chocolate Moose’. Anything and everything that has chocolate is an edible option for the store in the small town of Eastport, Maine. Because the town runs on tourist dollars and it’s late September, any opportunity to make money is important. When the local Elks club orders 12 dozen triple chocolate cookies, that’s a really big order. On top of that, Jake and Ellie are trying to compete in the annual Eastport Cookie Baking Contest in the same weekend. When circumstances send Jake home for some lunch food, her son, Sam, rushes in and announces that he and his fellow landscaper, Billy, have found a body. Jake joins Sam to visit the site and ensure that Billy is okay. Things go from bad to worse when Billy is believed to have killed the man. Jake is determined to get to the bottom of the mystery and ensure that Billy and his two young sisters are spared a fate worse than death, including having to move in with Aunt Prunia.
This was a good coxy and you’ll enjoy both the visit to Maine and watching Jake and Ellie solve the mystery.

Cozy mystery for an afternoon by ablazing fire. This is an easily solved mystery with characters who are likeable. A fun read.

Jake and Ellie may run the local bakery, but they are also the local sleuths. When the young man working with Jake’s son is found with blood all over him after finding the local curmudgeon, it looks like he’s the murderer, but Jake and Ellie think different and aim to prove it. The question is whether they’ll join the curmudgeon before they can uncover the guilty party.

This is a really cute series set in a small Maine village that has not only a great whodunit each time, but also a superb setting for getting away from your own troubles for awhile. Jake and Ellie are full of heart and good intentions, even if Jake manages to bungle things once in awhile. Full of red herrings and lots of suspects, you’ll enjoy the time spent with Jake and Ellie in Eastport.

Once again Jake and Ellie are pulled into another murder when the local grinch is found murdered. No one liked him, but who would go so far? Surely not the nice young man working so hard to raise his younger sisters. Mix in Jake's extended family, a cookie contest and a drought and you have a mystery full of fun and friendship. Highly recommend

I was so excited to get approved for an advanced reader copy in exchange for an honest review from NetGalley of Death by Chocolate Snickerdoodle by Sarah Graves, as she is one of my favorite authors.
The "Chocolate Moose" is owned and run by Jake Tiptree and Ellie White, who sell cakes, cookies, brownies, eclairs, scones and anything that has chocolate in it. It is in a remote island village of Eastport, Maine. An old curmudgeon is found dead with a hatchet buried in his skull. Then Jake finds an older body. What is going on? meanwhile a lot of fires are popping up because of the drought.
I have enjoyed reading books by Sarah Graves over the years. They take place in Maine, which I have been to many years ago. It has been nice to see the changes in Jake's family, kids growing, Ellie finding happiness. Now it will be hard to wait until the next in the series comes out. This book was easy to read and was exciting. The plot grabbed it's reader, making it hard to put down.

I’ve been a huge fan of Jake and Ellie, and I was beyond thrilled when this series came out. I have a connection with Jake, and I’ve really become a fan of this series.
This investigation had me stumped and it took me a while to put the missing pieces into place.
I was glad that Mika, Sam’s wife, got to play a bigger role. I think she’s going to develop a really close relationship with Jake, and I’m looking forward to that.
I would definitely recommend this author and this series, as well as her previous series, the fixer upper mysteries.

I enjoyed this book. It's like visiting with old friends. I love the characters and how they interact. I enjoyed the mystery and the solving of it. There are a few slow spots in this book but overall it's worthy it. I was surprised by who the killer was, it was a twisty ending. #DeathbyChocolateSnickerdoodle #NetGalley

Jake and Ellie are such appealing characters that it is hard to resist any of the books featuring them. I love these quirky mysteries which balance a bit of humour with good characters and an absorbing mystery. Make sure you read the rest of the series!
