i really enjoyed reading this story, the cover is what drew me in and it was so well done. The characters were what I wanted and the atmosphere was so well done.

I was instantly intrigued by the synopsis of this book. This book instantly drew me in, I got enough creepy in it that I loved it. I really enjoyed this book and the plot. This author did amazing. I loved the writing style.

So I wanted something to read that wasn't blooding or worse and found this had just come out and it looked fun, I went in thinking it would be like The Halloween tree, but found it was pretty creepy and beautiful actually.

The atmosphere is so essential to a good horror story and Black River Lantern didn’t disappoint.. It was chilling. I won't get into too much of the specifics with this story but things get dark, quite dark. I wouldn't call this story outright terrifying but there is always an looming sense of dread and the atmosphere is very creepy.

The plot, the mystery, the pace of the book were all really good (even though it became a favorite for me only after hitting the 50% mark), but the things I loved the most about this book are its characters and the way the author made their personalities interact. Also I didn't expect much humor but this book made me chuckle a few times.

Thanks to Netgalley for the copy of this book. A creepy tale that I thoroughly enjoyed. Will read more by this author.

This book sucked me in from the beginning and I couldn't put it down. I loved the pov shifts, gave the story more dimension.

A gripping and fascinating story that kept me hooked.
It's told by different POV and i liked how the author was able to make you feel different emotions and how the different POV resonated.
Excellent world building and a gripping plot.

Black River Lantern is unlike anything I expected. This world immediately drew me in and still left me wanting to know more. Told through multiple POVs the reader experiences pure evil, fantasy, kindness, humor, and ultimately sorrow. The number of characters made it a little difficult to follow along with but the pace of the story was handled well and made me want to keep reading. Definitely recommend if you like carnivals, fantasy, and magic!
