"The Civil War At Sea" is well written with many historical events that are not commonly discussed in many Civil War histories. It seems most histories tell of the Yankee blockade, the monitors used to defeat the South's fortifications along the Mississippi River, and the all important Monitor Vs. the Virginia or the Merrimac..

Symonds' book is well researched with many details not commonly included in many Civil War histories. I recommend the book for Civil War enthusiasts plus those interested in the U. S. Navy. This book's readability means that virtually any military history fan may learn from the details included. I enjoyed the book and will obtain a copy when it is released.

I reviewed this book with an honest opinion, and I received an advanced PDF format of the as yet unfinished book.
